# Without Work
Monday
So its finally come. Im unemployed. Retrenched. Saded.
Yup. But i still made my way back to TJ like Fe drawn to a magnet. Ok, more like i miss the people there!!
Yup, was back in school, but i woke up like super late cuz i was going crazy on MSN with Yumei. Haha. And first thing i did in school was to pass Yumei the College Anthem. "JAZZ" version. Haha, i hughly doubt it cuz every possible genre is in this version!
Yup, then bummed ard the staffroom. packed up some of my stuff. Got my stuff for NTU ASEAN zapped. Then i walked home cuz i forgot to take some certs. But i was being an idiot cuz i didn't bring anything from my table home. LAME... So now i still have a lot of stuff to bring back. They include
-leather shoes
-blue octopus =)
-03's tee =)
-21's boxes =)
-many cards/notes/papers
-certs
-dictionary....
-pillow (dun bother asking)
-random stuff like water bottle, pencil case...
Ok, i shall bring some home today.
Slacked in the staffroom quite a lot. Then got my stuff certified and went for college day rehearsal. Also left the 4X4 Rubik's with Yingen who passed it to Zhiyuan. They (including Julie, i dunno why.. haha) were making Invest souvenirs. Haha, i think i looks nice, but too tiring to make. Hehe. Lazy.!
Went for a REALLY USELESS college day rehearsal. Yup. USELESS till i have NOTHING to blog about. And even more sad was that i was late to meet Jean for Thai food!
Met Fer n Co. in the way out. Feel sad for them. Beta HC... Met Claire n Co too. Claire helped me mail my shcolarship stuff. Yay. But she also told me the wrong bus to take to Suntec. Boo...
Had to make a switch to 14/196. Did it at hostel's bus stop. Too bad didn't see anyone there. Took 196, met Jean and walked into Shaw Tower. Which looks like a hidden shopping centre! Then looked for Aman who was hiding in the toilet! Haha! Met her at Subway and then Xinyi (who Jean went and caught) too as we made our way to the Thai Restaurant. Dunno the name though. Haha
Let's see what we ordered.
-2 Plates Thai Kuey Teow
-1 Plate Thai Noodles
-1 Plate Thai fried rice
-1 Bowl of Tom Yam Soup
-1 Green Curry
-1 Plate of Mango fried chicken
-1 Plate of Kang Kung
-1 complimentary Mango salad
All this for only $8 per person. Ok, $32 in total. Not bad ryte? But it rocks even more cuz the food actually tastes really GOOD!! Yup, and then we started off eating normally. Until we started to get a little full and started talking. Then we were sprouting more nonsense than there was food on the table. Haha!
Ok, we talked a lot, i mean a lot! of crap. Haha!! And we were apparently there for quite a while cuz the shop uncle had to ask us if we had any more orders cuz they were gonna stop taking orders. So .... it didn't matter and we talked even more. Haha!!
Ok, eventually we had to leave and decided to go n get ice cream instead. From Tom's Pallete. I think. Really wierd plavours they have there. They include
-Wasabe lime (suicidal)
-Tau sa piah (erm, eat the real thing better)
-Teh Tarik (same like above)
-Black sesame (its really black, and... yeah that's all its good for)
-Pink guava (refreshing)
-Chocolate banana (oooohh!! nice!!)
-Chocolate (nice!)
-Im sure they had many other random stuff... but i forgotz liaoz
Haha, this shop really quite cool, they let u try all the flavours before u buy,a nd i think the four of us did jz that. Must have looked really bad cuz we tried almost everything, and ended up only buying two small cups. Hhaa. Aman and Jean shared one, and Xinyi and I shared the other. They had Pink Guava + Choc. We had Banana Choc + Choc! Which looked like pure choc! Haha
Then we were laughing so much outside the store, it was quite funny for us to go back and get tissue after leaving the store for abt 20 minutes? Haha. Yes, we laughed quite a bit at the customers after us.
We talked a lot more crap outside and eventually left. Haha... missed 10. It was rather lame. Took 14 instead. Talked even more. What else is there to do on a bus ride ryte? And then went to Jean's to watch Desperate Housewives. Really evil show. And after that Jean was really sleepy and she had work today. I didn't. So i left, walked home to Sennett and slept.
Tuesday
Woke up relatively earlier. Did nothing except rehearse "my" (after it was cut down like a totem pole) speech for college day. Then packedup my place a bit. Ate lunch. Parked. Blogged.
Tuition soon. Not feeling well. Sneezing a lot and feeling too cold in the staffroom. Oh, peeked by to see Invest. I think Zhiyuan saw me, unless she was waving to go for the NY invest. Nice seeing some of my students again. =)Labels: Amande, Desperate Housewives, Jean, Julie, Parked, Rubik's, Shaw Tower, Thai Food, Xinyi, Yingen, Zhiyuan

# Point of Difference
Its the weekends again! YAY!!
Saturday
Was awesome!! Haha, apart from spending lots of time hand-washing clothes, tuition was alright. Although i still dread the journey there n back. Started off fine with me dropping by TJ to get my stuff which i left in the SC room. Oh, why would it be there? Cuz... i left it there... haha.. ok ok, cuz i left it there while i went to watch Chinese Drama's show. The easiest name to put for the show owuld be Temasek Nite 07.
Friday
Points that you already know
-Kenneth doesn't know Chinese
-Neither is he able to read Chinese
-He wasn't stupid enough to sit through it alone
So i got myself a few translators! Haha. Big thanks to Zhiyuann and Yingen who translated for me. Let me try and retell the stories (there were 3 ok!) and tag me if i got it all wrong k?
Story ONE
-aiks... darn.. can't remember liao..
-*ponders while enjoying ALL OF THE ABOVE*
-oh oh, it was about how life isn't always perfect
-there was this father who adopted a blind girl
-then he was going to die, so he donated his eyes to his daughter
-and according to zhiyuan, the scene where the musical box gets spoilt is significant in the sense that it foretells that she is going to lose something (or someone) precious to her
-and parallel to that, there is a fairy tale going on where the prince and princess lives happily ever after after (lol, after after =) defeating the witch
-btw, to the witch, ur shadows were so cool!! tag me if u r reading this k? I dunno ur name but i guess you know the ppl i was watching ur show with
Story TWO
-it was about being urself
-there was this girl who always thought of herself as inferior to others, especially to her sister
-because of that, she thought that ppl were always making fun of her and excluding her when they actually weren't
-in the end, when she stands up for someone else (because of something she herself holds dear), she realises that she needs to stand up for herself
-then she realises that she will only be happy when she is herself
-according to zhiyuan again, the act of her putting on her glasses at the end is to emphasize the point
Story THREE
-starring JULIE LOW!!!!
-i dunno what her character's name is so i shall call her Julie (=
-its a whole story about the good and bad of changing times, centralised around the Singapore Government
-started of with the collapse of the First World Hotel and ended with the upgraded Kopitiam where the Julie pays for the expensive meal
-according to Julie, her transition scene to her "older self" was purposely interrupted by the stage crew and lighting change to ignify how time flies
Ta daa~~
And there you have my version of what went down at Temasek Nite 07
So moving back to...
Saturday
After getting my stuff, peeked into LT2 where EXCO elections were going on but had no time to stick around cuz tuition called. But once tuition was over, i headed back and stepped into the LT.
The EXCO was already decided by then. Shall not ruin the surprise for u, but somewhere on my blog is the list of the new EXCO. Go hunt k? Then after forever, we decided to go to Parkway for lunch.
Ate KFC, sharing a buddy meal with Cheryl who tried Meltz. I think Meltz is nice, but not filling... Interesting things that went on was talking about how Hui Min was gonna suffer! And her scandal where she herself failed the task. Dun think u guys will know what im talking abt, but then again, u shouldn't! Saw a PW group there also!
Aruna, Abishek, Pui Yee, Cheryl and Ryan's group. I think. They were supposed to be at Macs but apparently it was too crowded so KFC had good luck.
Left for home on 48 and then did my laundry and rushed to YA pre-service prayer. Aiken shared an awesome msg (see.. he said so already in the mails ryte?! haha) on being the LIGHT! And then we moved into the service which was very very good! We started off with this awesome song... Point of Difference!
Shall focus on the chorus, and how it is really meaningful (oh, btw, i bought hte album already! Haha! Can't edit my sidebar though, but point is, UNITED rocks, and their songs are really meaningful!!)
Chorus
Open the skies, flood the earth with Your light
Like what Maddy and Aiken said, this is really meaningful. Apart from the obvious fact that we are called to be lights, there's this interesting thing about lights. In a room as big as u can imagine, ok, for convenience, think of a classroom. If its totally dark, there's like so much darkness in the room. But even if a small tiny candle is lit, the darkness which is so much more than the small little candle cannot overpower it. The light shines through. And secondly, everyone in the dark will naturally focus on this light. This is our calling. YA and Emmanuel. To be that light. And not just any small light, a light that will flood the earth! Blowing Spirit, Jumping Locusts!
This is love to break a world indifferent
This is the MOST meaningful part of the chorus for me. Why do we need to shine? Because we live in an indifferent world. Just like what Isaac super-crazy-awesomely-amazing Church Camp promo-video said, we love in a world where lies are passed off as truths. Where people care only abou themselves. Where one can be a crowd and yet lonely, be online yet disconnected. This world is so cold and indifferent. And we are called to love, love so much that it breaks the indifference. Love so much that we stand out. Love so sincerely that we shine. Love so dearly that people see the Love of God in us. Love that breaks indifference. How important that is, words here can't express, but it really struck me. To live my life, that my love will break this indifferent world
As we lift up our eyes, fill our hearts with Your fire
It certainly isn't easy to love till it break indifference. It won't be normal to stick by friends when work calls. It won't be easy to care when I need to be cared for myself. It's hard to show I care when I'm empty inside. But this is where God comes in to be that fuel for our fire to burn and shine for Him. On my own, i cannot love till it breaks indifference. I cannot love without being filled myself first. And as Rachael said before the service, today, God really wants to fill us with love. Love firstly for Him, and next for others. And im taking up that call. To love people, to genuinely care, to sincerely touch, to break this world indifferent.
In a world the same, we'll be the different. The Difference.
Even after all the "hype" of the weekend, the world is still the same. The only change that took place is in me. The world isn't suddenly going to be all lovey and caring. And trying to break the indifference may break my spirit within the first few hours of monday. But in my world, im going to be the different. The Difference!Labels: 31st EXCO elections, Point of Difference, Temasek Night, Yingen, Zhiyuan

# How Great Is Our God
Monday
Today was movie day with my classes. And, yeah, really God has been really good! He helped me a lot with this whole movie thing i wanted to do with my classes. Firstly, the movies, i had no idea where the movies were gonna come from, cuz i didn't have a DVDRom on this com, but God provided it through a portable hard disk. Then there was the expertise of projecting the video... For some unknown reason (at that time), everytime i tried projecting a video, it would appear black on the screen. Thank God my first double coincided with Siok's so we could combine classes! (=
Then it was the duration of the movie. 1 hour and 50 minutes. Impossible to screen in any double, but even after a long setup delay, it was just nice that break was after that and some stayed on! Yay! 8 if i counted correctly, which is more than 50% (=
Same miracle happened for 06! PW was after my screening session, and Ms Yanti wasn't ard cuz of MC, so i had the next period all to myself to finish American History X! Yay! But some in 06 were falling asleep while some wanted to run off to see soccer. But they were nice and stayed on *CLAPS* =)
Okay, the story itself, i regret the very coarse language. Really sorry to my classes, but ignoring that, the movie is really something solid on the big D.
Then to 21, the first up for presentations. Sorry i looked very black face, although i didn't mean too, im like that. Sorry ya... Didn't mean to expect so much of you guys. Im jz a very "presentation" kind of person. I expect presenting views to come naturally, so appearing unprepared sort of, yes, pisses me off. But i guess i did overreact. Sorry, i'll see how things go on Friday, but as for tmr, jz enjoy k? I'll pray that somehow, the movie will fit once again.
Oh yeah, Holocaust Remembrance Day wasn't on Monday lar, even u guys said it was in January!
After school, it was tuition. Not too bad once again, except there was once question i didn't know. Maybe any of u guys can help me? Its on electrolysis. In order to coat a piece of plastic with Chromium, two plastic rods are thinly coated with graphite, connected to a battery and immersed in Chromium(III) sulphate solution. The question is, "Why will this method not work for Zinc?" I think it refers to reactivity series or E-naught values. Txs for any replies!
Ate macs for dinner. Sorry Tristan.
Slept!
Tuesday
Shall skip what happened after my class, but for 03, presentations started. Not too good as well, but hope it gets better! Then after the part i skipped, Ms Ng asked me to help her relief CG28 and 12 for her periods that day. Not too bad i suppose, cuz i took 28 and i knew some of them. The presentations were overall good, except the fact i didn't know that it was a double period until someone asked me. Haha, and too bad that guy is gonna get killed by his classmates. Oh well, things happen. Lol!
Then after that it was 12, with JoJo inside there before me. Aapparently, according to JoJo, some of them were scared of me and didn't dare ask for sweets from her. Haha, and they weren't as prepared as 28, but some in 28 were abt their level too. But i guess its jz me being over expectant of presentation standards...
Went for badminton after that at Sigplap CC. Wasn't on form today, and got tired real soon. Plus that CC is white, so hard to see the shuttle. And i tried my first few jumping smash from the back, or is it base, line. Realise i never actually could do that. So i tried today and ddn't turn out nice. Cuz from the back, i usually whack to opponents back or drop, can't smash cuz i dunno how to jump and smash. oH OH, Anyone up for a game of badminton?? I'll treat u bandung if u win? But if u in school team then diff story lar, cuz i failed the school team trials... haha.
Then went for tuition. On the way there, Mrs Quek told me its cancelled. On the way back, she said its on again. So i walked back again. There was this dog that barked at me 3 times lar.. I guess he was fed up too with me walking past his gate so many times. Haha.
Ate dinner at their house (so nice ryte, only God can provide such a nice tuition place!) and then taught tuition. Even had apple juice to drink while teaching! *BIG SMILES!!* Then headed home. Slept.
Wednesday
Relieved for Ms Ng again on 28. Not too bad, finished what i set out to do. And then had my own class. Not as good as i wanted, but yeah, its the over expectancy thing.
Major update of the day, Release of SC Results.
IT'S FINALLY HERE, THE 31st SC Elects.
Number of Councillors (without TA2) - 36
Number of TA2 (separate elections) - 6
Yes the 30th followed our "results slip method" but they stuffed it in a balloon and asked the nominees to burst it. Oh well.. Still had the "grade numerical" and "grade alphabetical". Haha, i still laugh when i see it!! I think the template is exactly the same. Jz modified.
There were happy people, abt 25 or more of them who came for the results ceremony. And there were the teary ones. Guys were the main crying ones. Diantha handled it very well i would say. Very proud of u! *smiles!!* Others jz left, while some had to be consoled. All in all, a solemn occasion.
So here you have it. The 31st Elects.
the full council - 42 (including a now merged TASC)
How the lockers will be allocated, i dunno, cuz there are 36 so maybe the Welfare Haven will have to make way. And TA2 councillors will face some discrimination maybe?
The SC room seriously isn't made for 42 ppl, so that'll be interesting to see. And new locker covers too! Haha, well, thats taking it a little far, council camp first. Be afraid Zhi Yuan, be very afraid. Know how to swim? Haha!
Oh Oh, this is an important part of my post!! Read read: Law Yifu Eve!!! Welcome to TJ for ur visit!!! I really thought i saw u, but i said, can't be lar, that's Julie only, can't be Eve. But guess what, it really was!!
And she so nice say she came back to see me!! Haha, although it was obviously Chinese Drama but ignorance is bliss. Haha. Talked quite a lot with her outside LT1. Sorry didn't go in and u had to fan urself with ZO Cards. Then finally went for dinner with Yumei, JarEN, YingEN, Zhi Yuan, Diantha, Aaron, and two other Elects whose names i can't spell. Haha... At BK. And it was my second meal out after a very very very nice lunch with JoJo and Eugene at Pizza Hut after they mistook our order! Yay, FREE LARGE PIZZA!
Shout outs
Cass-i'll be searching and praying
Dianthaaaaa-u've handled it really well
Zhi Yuan & Co- CONGRATS!! 31st Elect
Li Sze & Co-CONGRATS!! 5-0 thrashing
Shermin & Co-CONGRATS!! 4-0 thrashing
28 and 12-it was nice teaching you
Evelyn-im still holding on to ur pen. SorryLabels: 31st SC Elects, Aaron, BK, Chinese Drama, Dianthaaaaa, Eugene, Eve, Jaren, JoJo, Julie, Pizza Hut, Results slip, Tuition, Yingen, Yumei, Zhi Yuan

# Found
Thursday
It seems so long ago, looking back. It was rather a dull day other than the fact it was fry-day. Eugene and JoJo had quite a fun time giving out points. Sorry to Shermin and co who walked away and missed 1000 pts. Mostly did scholarships and university applications. Mostly a boring day, feeling rather lost. And was actually looking forward to Friday. Mahjong seemed tempting.
Friday
Continued applications from the previous day. Also saw Eugene playing TD with Aaron. Had Canadian $10 lunch as well with the RTs. Nice. Im really not in the mood to blog, but its sort of the reason why im blogging. Just wanna be FOUND. By so many poeple. But I'll be back on this issue. More of what happened next that was quite exciting.
Guest appearance of Jia Yi in TJ. Met her at scroom. Had quite a nice time talking. About council. What went right and the many wrongs. The traditions. The fun. The mistakes. The fights. The people. Its common knowledge that the 29 has been outshined by the 30. We all know they've pulled the right strings in and left some loose. They've held the right people close while for us, its only a shadow to be feared.
A unity we could only hold together has been cemented
Privileged
Yet not knowing the price
Strong
Yet lacking the refining fire
Favoured
Unknowingly masochistic
Great
Yet ungrateful through time
Yet what can a shadow say
Observing
Yet what is lost cannot be found
Stepping away
Council has been good. It always will be, it's the very essence that keeps it going. No matter the batch, the traditions held, the culture taught or the knowledge passed down. It will groom you if you let it. It will teach you if you are willing to learn. To Diantha and Cadence, if you want to run for council, give it your best shot. If you get in, don't waste the many chances to learn and grow. It won't be easy, I know, but it will be harder if you get in and don't benefit from it.
Had a great time talking with JY, showed her 06 and 21 in the hall during the emo time they had. Danced two mass dances and a speedy. Laughed a lot at the chaotic fun-dance. Pointed out ppl like Eugene, Samuel, Cadence, Yumei, Mengting and others from 06 and Julie, Shuming and others from 21. Didn't find 04. Sorry. But then, all good things come to an end and it was time to leave the hall.
Back to scroom and then left to meet 06. Yay. But then realised i didn't have my wallet with me. Made 06 wait quite a lot. Sorry Yumei, knew u were really not feeling weel. Rushed to the staffroom and realised i didn't have my wallet. So I was heading for dinner at Simpang with 06 OGLs + Joanne without any money. But of course they weren't gonna let me starve and Cadence and Diantha offered money. Txs for the offer and esp Diantha for the $10.
Walked to the 2 and 9 bus stop and got on after quite a long wait and a talk on sc life. Finally reached Simpang Bedok and met 21 there. Haha, Shuming was so terrified of the pokes. And i did finally give in to one poke as 21 were leaving. Sat down and took almost forever to order. The menu wasn't very clear or helpful either so I had a mango with lychee dessert and 1 plain and 1 egg prata (read roti canai to Malaysians). Should have ordered my dessert later cuz it came way before anything and I slowly ate it. Some things i found out that night
- Cadence is a VERY slow eater
- Diantha is a slow eater
- Cadence, Karilynn and Dianthaaaaa all wear braces
- Stephanie is a healthy eater
- Yingen and Jaren eat fast
- (i already knew this but) 06 is full of cam-whores. Haha
Then after a very long dinner and queue time paying we left for Yumei's. The surviving people that made it there were just Yumei (duh), Ying and Jar EN, Cadence and Dianthaaaaa.
Had a nice bus ride with almost the whole bus to ourselves then reached Yumei's place which is so cool. Wish I could stay there. Haha. But the rooftop is really nice. Except people that are still high from orientation decide to bang the railings to cheer beats and stomp on the rooftop rather than enjoy the scenery. Took more pictures. Man... One should get Yumei an analogue camera and see how she suffers with film. Then went down for Mahjong and i surfed the net.
Took a swap after that and played mahjong instead, but ended up losing all anyway. Yup, so my mahjong skills haven been upgraded. But this time I could play without reference to the paper. Ok fine, I had to ask Yumei or Diantha, but well, i wasn't totally blur. I think. lolz.
Then had more fun playing bridge with Diantha. Ok, clarification on the scoreline, it was 3-2. So nobody thrashed anyone although i totally owned the first game and she almost owned the last no-trump game until I got control. Haha. Finally got the mahjong ppl to bridge. Which was a good thing cuz 4 man bridge is so much better. Bad thing cuz Yumei doesn't bridge so she curled up on a sofa and slept. Sorry to Yumei again. Then instead of leaving at 11 to get the last bus, we decided to stay till 11.50 to cab home and avoid the midnight surcharge. Jaren got his dad to come.
So we bridged on, was really fun to bridge once again, legally. Haha. And major discovery here is....
-Dianthaaaaa is the ultimate blur queen at bridge! *gives stacks of mahjong tiles!!!*
Finally we decided to leave and Dianthaaaaa led the way. You can so tell that this was a recipe for disaster but we were all too tired to realise. She didn't know the way. So we just walked till we reached a road. So much for avoiding the midnight charge. Then we found a taxi. Without a driver... Dotzzzz... Continued walking until we found a cab and took it home, with Cadence dropping off first in TP, then Dianthaaaaa the blur queen at Simei and me last. For the record, I owe
-Eugene $10
-Zsa Zsa $10
-Cadence $7
-Dianthaaaaa da blur $17
Oh well, it was a nice time (=Labels: bridge, Cadence, council, Dianthaaaaa, Eugene, Jaren, Jia Yi, Julie, Karilynn, mahjong, Shuming, Simpang, Stehanie, Yingen, Yumei, Zsa^2

# Awesome God
Okay, I just HAVE to blog about yesterday. The 2nd of March. Perhaps the biggest checkpoint in my life so far. A Levels came out today.
The day had already been anticipated by me a whole 3 weeks ago. When all the rumours saying it was after Os or whatever. I knew it had to come. And reliable sources indicated it was to be today. And it was so.
Day started off like any other day.
YEAH RIGHT!
The moment I entered the staffroom, the atmosphere was different. I knew by the time I finished my first lesson, the results would have arrived. My ingenious plan to stay out of the staffroom didn't materialize. But I wasn't nervous. I was so much better prepared this year than any other results day. Cuz I know my God will make a way for me. It's Gonna Be Alright! So I was rather calm.
Went to 421 for my first lesson of the day. I must have dreaming or something cuz 06 arrived before I did. Miracle of miracles eh? So I went ahead and taught them the AQ, which is pretty obvious to them by now, my favourite part of GP!! Did the whole "structuring an argument" lesson based on the AQ and spent the rest of the time (which always finishes too fast) on the AQ.
Dunno why but I decided to bring my water bottle to class and good thing I did too cuz its one of the first times i started to choke on nothing... So weird. But lessons still went on. 06 must have thought i was too scared or nervous, but let me assure you, I wasn't. Okay, maybe a little. Haha.
Then went back to the staffroom. Siok was there. She couldn't sit down. Haha. Paced around her desk. Talked to her and soon, it was time for 21.
CR 104 i think. And surprises of all surprises, there were some of them already there!!! Results should come out everyday man.. then can have more time for lessons. But the excitement was short lived when only half the class was there and the remainder came in late. Haha, remainder sounds like maths to me. Yes, i know its just me. And did the same lesson on the "structuring an argument" and then the AQ. Really hoping 21 and 06 caught the AQ well, cuz its actually easy to score in it. *wink to Shermin* And the choking thing happened again. Oh well... And i accidentaly stepped on the article i was using and put it at Zsa^2's folder. Forgot to take it back. Sorry to Zsa^2. Then it was Ms Kuah's lesson. And I was already late for 04's.
Reached 04 and its no surprise by now that they were already there. Oh well. Gave them the world's hardest compre to do and went through their essays. Missed Selina and Zach though. At the stroke of halftime, 5 more players were brought onto the GP field (jz read James' football blog) *Phildia, u can give it a read too* from the KI locker room. But there were two casualties in the conversion process and off they went. They took a token of appreciation for their participation in the form of papers.
It was soon lunch time... ok, didn't feel to quick for me though... And Kenneth still wanted to avoid the staffroom. Nice to bump into Mr Eugene and went down for lunch. Bought my food and placed it on the table. Then i went through Shi Min's (pronounces it the way i like it... bluack...) essay. Mary Jane maybe? Haha and then Y/Ni N/Ying's. Then Kathleen's, then Hui Shian's. By then, flies already turned my Malay Food Meal into a Gourmet of Bacteria but txs and txs to those who turned their arms into fans, i didn't get a stomach upset. Yay.
Finally ate my food and talked to the 21-ers around. Then that fateful sms came. I dun think the P or VPs of TJ will ever find my blog unless you people tell them, I shall let this private information be shared in bits and bytes.
Teacher A sms-ed me (yes, I am being a little paranoid here) saying congrats and that Teacher A was proud of me! I was really overjoyed, ecstatic, exhilirated. Then there was one more sms. I knew what it was and didn't want to open it. Julie had the privilege of being the first to know my exact results, even though she didn't know what it actually meant. Haha. I was really in a state of ecstatic-shock. Trembling, in joy. Shivering, in excitement. Tearing. On the inside. I knew my prayers were answered. I knew, they were more than answered. They were pressed down, shaken together and over-flowingly answered. I couldn't move! Couldn't stand. Couldn't talk. It was just an awesome moment. Thank you so much, my Awesome God!
Then on, a big weight had been lifted off my shoulders... I had this (most likely, please do tell me 21) spastic smile on my face for the whole day up till the actual thing in the hall. Went opposite to meet up with the others from 01. Yup, a whole bunch of botak guys and an Indian, an Indo and various other people. Then came back to TJ to use the toilet with Thammie. Met some 06 OGLs and various other people along the way. Then went to the guys toilet and I went to the staff one jz to make fun of Thammie, who was slightly slower than usual. Haha. Anyways, we wondered around school with ChenYi.
And to those of you who actually remembered what she was wearing, I like those kind of Tees. Haha, its jz my taste in how girls should dress up. Told her she looked nice in it. But don't think she realised what it really meant. Oh well. The colours were nice too. It jz looked great. *smile* And this is my blog so I shall be slightly more thick skin ya? Then again, don't think anyone would remember what she wore though but that's ok. My batch people were dressed in many different types of outfits. Ranging for casual to ARMY. From 6-inch-nano-pico-micro-minis to Oversized pants. From dull and black to striking reds. From polos to Polo's. From simple to triple layered with matching make-up. But me, I jz liked the simple top ChenYi had on.
Had a walk with Thammie and ChenYi cuz we were "clique-less" at that time. Walked around school, from canteen to audi to back again and aimless stoning. Saw all sorts of people and emotions. From the cool to the clueless. The calm to the calamity-stricken. From fooling around to frozen cold. From nervous to nevermind. It really was a big day.
Soon, the hall was open and Ms Thangam tried to get me to go in and i said i didn't want. Haha, but i did anyway.. so good boy.. haha.. then sat down like the super obedient 01 that we are. And Mr Tong started things off by reminding us he was the DM, in a funny way. The biggest error of the slideshow was them using the college crest without the letters J and C in it. Don't think any other TJ fanatics noticed it but oh well. Its just me.
Mrs Loke gave an "inspiring" speech before the results were announced. I was once again sitting beside Thammie. And to my students, Thammie is a MALE. Then soon the countdown began. Or rather, count-up. 3Ds... 4Ds... Dissapointed gasps as well as satisfied screams were echoing the hall. Was so shocked when Thammie didn't appear in the 4 or 5 D list either. We thought it was over. 6 D. Still nothing. Neither had I anything to be certain of.
7 DISTINCTIONS
01 - KENNETH STEPHEN WILSON
*SCREAAAAAMMMMMMMSSSSS!!!!!!!!! (louder than Phildia maybe, with back up from my class, fellow cohort and even my own students)*
First name on the 7D list. It was like a dream-came-to-life moment!! Was so so so so so so overjoyed!! Didn't bother to look at my results when I got it and just came down the stage although i was most likely still on cloud seven. Oh yeah. Jun Yi was the next name and the nest four of the 7 D list were also from 01. People say we are the best! Hee.. We rock.
And on the second page, Tham Zhen Hong Benjamin. along with Wenny and many others. 8 D, Mei Lien. along with 3 other scholars. Haha. Top 4, with 8 Ds, of Temasek Junior College were from Malaya (3) and India (1). What a sweet irony. But yes, the majority of the scholars did well which I am very happy over. All in 18 and the 01 (with minor exceptions) and econs students got their straight 4. Hall was a rather surreal place once the results were out. People were obviously happy, but mindful of the less fortunate. Lots of talking. Lots of faces. Just Lost. Talked to many poeple. Met JoJo but not Denise. Congrats to all and special mention must also go out to top sciencer Koh Chau Sean followed closely by Zhongshan and Bharat. Both from the same room lar.. IMBA M4-04. M4-06 also had our IMBAness when we were the only room with full attendance despite having an Indo, a Sabahan and a KL guy who needs to shop more than his results. Plus even the permanent residents and illegal immigrants of 4-06 were there too lar. M4-06 Rocks!!!
Left the hall and met Amanda and Aishah. Then met my students. So nice to see them. Had a mini group hug even. Haha. Pras and Jack Jack. Lol, talked with them quite a lot, walked around too. Too bad they didn't get to see their eye-candy. But then again, they had me! Haha, ok, Im not that perasan. Met many of my students later on, Yingen, Yumei, the 06s basically, Julie and 21s. Met Xue Wen adn Cai Yu and Selina too. Talked a lot. Was very high. Very happy. Elated.
Walked around rather aimlessly till tuition. Traded umbrellas with Riyanti and went off. Reached late but Benjamin was later. Haha. Talked with Mrs Quek abt my results before actually giving the tuition. I can't believe i've gone through 12 chapters of sec 2 maths in 4 days. Wow.. And then rushed off for Fish and Co. Glasshouse.
Waited forever and a day for 14 which never came so Phil and I cabbed down. MAJOR mistake. Firstly, the cab driver purposely drove slowly... Then, it was majorly jammed during peak hour. Then he tried to avoid telling us how long it will take to reach by talking blurly and murmuring. Hated the cab ride. It cost me slightly less than 15. So cheated. But oh well, it wasn't going to ruin my day!!
Reached Glasshouse just as 01 was leaving. Darn. Scholars were there though. I ordered Grilled Sambal Fish which was nice!! Yay! Txs for the recommendation Quen. Talked a lot with the scholars and talked even more. Stole Heri's fries and let him taste some good, non-oily, fish. Fish n Co. is always nice. Except the price. Oh well, it was a nice day. Had live music though I didn't like most of the singers cuz they ruined songs i actually liked. To those of you who heard me comment, those were really the very few secular songs i actually like. JY should know at least 1 of them from 14/02 dedication. But poeple go to fish and co for the people. Not the money. And there were 3 birthdays. Lame Fish n Co. cheer didn't help... But it was really nice catching up with all the scholars and others. So many places. Greats will certainly arise out of the few of us.
Then walked over to Cathay Cineplex for no reason. Wondered around and stood around while talking. Girls left first and then me, TK and Phil left while the rest went on wandering. Movie maybe? I dunno. Sean left to club first and took my phone along. Hope it comes back jz fine. It should lar... Unless he gets too drunk.
Waited 14 revolutions of the earth around the moon before 14 came. It was crowded but there were seats. I was so stoned out of tiredness I didn't notice Iman and Hafiz came on board. Oh well, they looked blissful together. Chatted until reached home. Talked with Phil and then surfed the net a bit.
Replied the many many people who msged me. Wanna specially thank 06 for their creative msg too. Sorry goes out to mommy. Didn't mean to let you worry. Really. Sorry.
Had a few replies come back in. Yumei, u need more sleep. Phildia too. Haha.

BIG THANKS TO JESUS, MY AWESOME GOD. WITHOUT YOU, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE. SPECIAL TXS GOES TO YOU FOR YOUR WONDERFUL ANSWER TO MY F MATHS PRAYER. TRULY, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH YOU.
To my students, if you want to be inspired by me, don't be because of my grades, but be because there is a God out there who answered me when I cried out to Him for wisdom. When I was an average scholar who never touched A for FM, who's first GP grade was a C, whose Year 2 results were worse than year 1, He gave me what no tutor could. Hope. Love. Wisdom. Peace. Truly, without him, I would be in the pits of despair right now. But He is faithful, even when I wasn't. He was always by my side. He was my wisdom and I was dumb. My light when I couldn't see. My strength when I wanted to sleep. My conscience when I wanted to pon. My peace in times of fear. My security in times of doubt. My reason. Its You.Labels: A level results, Bharat, ChenYi, Fish and Co., God, Heri, Jac, Julie, Mei Lien, Phildia, Philip, Pras, Quen, Sam, Sean, Teik Kheng, Thammie, Yingen, Yumei, Zhongshan

# The Race Continues
Sunday
Sunday was good yet again. Except for the minor issue of being late for pre-service prayer. Oh well, Ms Tong will be early next time im sure (= Praise and worship was awesome, Particularly liked the pause they did for the bridge of “I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever” to the chorus. The timing was spot on, and I’ve never heard any band do it like that before. Cool. Gotta try it out back in church in Malaysia. *BIG SMILE* Preaching was by Ps Ang who shared on… hmm, can’t quite remember exactly what the title was, but something about how everyone should be ready to serve *takes out a jug and a bottle to remind those who were there*
Then we had a quick cell talk with prayer for BS n Jeremy who are in NS and those who weren’t there. Hope to see you guys ard soon. Then it was off to lunch at Toa Kong for chicken rice. First time I wasn’t with cell for lunch. But it was cool. Headed back to home then to church for bass lessons. Just confirmed that I will be playing on the 24th. Yay, my first time in YA. That will be an awesome time to remember. Aand if anyone wants to come and see if I can actually play a bass, stop by Emmanuel, Hall 3B at 7.30pm on 24th k? After bass, headed home and slacked. Did the basics of housekeeping for my clothes and rested.
Of course not before I created my most creative PowerPoint presentation on the family ever. But then again, think it might be too lame for some to stand (pun so intended)
Monday
I was so ready for classes today and 21 and 06 were in for the lamest of my powerpoint slides ever. Soon, ok 10am, it was time for my lesson with 06. They were not really awake yet except they wanted chocolates. So here I justify my stand that chocolates are for everyone, not just primary sch kids! *winks to shuming* Yup. It went well. At least that’s how I felt it went, haven’t read any comments on the lesson though.
Then it was 21’s turn for the ice-cold lameness. But somehow, Phildia and Shermin were all prepared, with every type of ammunition to get all the chocs they wanted. But, alas, I was quick to find out the perpetrator who leaked the info. It was none other than –yingen- who has a pre-dated post on 06’s blog, this December! I tried to backdate it but not sure if it works. And 06, I understand the tortures of putting up a post, so in the end, not ur fault if ur blog doesn’t win. Yeah, back to what yingen did, she told Phildia all the answers! Then Phildia got a few chocs instead of just one. Shermin too. *faints*
Yeah, that was the lameness for the day, but after that, it was back to serious work at Tao.. darn.. Toa Payoh for Physics. My favourite chapters – Kinematics. Looks a lot like cinematics, except much more fun!! Yup, two hours of linear motion. So fun (not sarcastic) *glares at those who hate physics*
And the day didn’t end there. Took 36 home, which was much smoother this time and then walked a bit… actually quite a lot, to Jean’s to teach her functions. Ok, more of a refresher course cuz she actually knew all that already. With maths out of the way, it was time to have a look at Jean’s laptop. It now comes complete with a bag which satisfies criteria no. 1 and doesn’t look fugly like the ones at Funan. First thoughts, it was Huge. A widescreen yes, but wide enough to be cut into half and used as two separate laptops. Hehe. But nonetheless, that meant more arm-rest space which is so often overlooked this days. I have issues with the mousepad though. Too hard for my liking, but it does the job. Scroll functions also a bit screwy. Hence the need for a real-physical mouse. But that was cool, did blog surfing, and talking and eventually went home before I was 100% sure I would be a zombie the next day
Tuesday
Today was slightly better, in terms of classes cuz I only had one. But still, I had to survive till 1 before I should go home to get my full paycheck. And it’s now certain that my paycheck per day is 65, no CPF for me. Sobs a little. Maybe would be more if I knew exactly how much I am missing in terms of free government money.
Class with 04 went well, except they should have collected their quizzes a tad earlier. Intro of lameness was cut short as I spent more time on the current affairs quizzes. But not to fear, Thursday promises more lameness to come.
Then I left the school earlier than ever. 2pm. Wow, had so much time I actually read the Straits Times. Which was good, except there was this article criticizing the Malaysian Public Sector. Not sure how true it is, but yeah, they would have been imprisoned under the ISA if they were in Malaysia. And a note to Malaysians, Singapore does have its own version of the ISA and they are no trying to hide it. Every student in TJ got a handbook on the ISA which ws mostly used for throwing around at people since it was quite thick. Full use of a few hundred trees to inform the youth on this important legal issue. *kicks one around as I walk into class*
Had a nice nap, till it was a little too late for my favourite dinner so I tried kuey teow goreng from a malay stall. BIG MISTAKE. Malaysians take note again : Mamak is always better in Malaysia. Finished it nonetheless. Wished it was less though. Oh well, slept not too well as I woke up at 3.30 thinking it was morning. Brushed my teeth and went back to sleep. Bet the toilet had a shock seeing me. Cuz apparently my Wednesday hair was either too or not “stuck up” *ignores Zsa^2 and Co. laughter* (=
Wednesday
The big assessment day. Started lessons off with 21. This time they were like, majorly sleepy. Not even top gear could wake them up. Then again, there are only 6 guys in the class. Maybe Barbie would do a better job? Oh well, an interesting survey followed and we found out there was one single-parent family in 21. Shall keep class matters private. Mean family size is 4. Had a good argument and that was the lesson for the day.
Had a quick break and it was 06’s turn for the 5-way family fued. Corrected to Feud by 21. Txs. So I didn’t throw my face in front of the assessors with a glaring error projected nicely in their faces. Gave 06 a toilet break at the stroke of half time. Another pedagogical error as Ms Tan and Ms Ng walked in to a half empty class. Discussions were a bit suppressed for “some” reason as 06 toned down a little with the presence of Big Sister(s). Hehe. But it was good, and once again quite personal. 06 has all 4 family types except the Alternative. Which gave me an initial shock as Ying Ling put up her hand. I was really really surprised that someone was from an Alternative Family, only for her to realize Meng Ting must have given her the wrong info!! Yeah, after much result editing, the majority was Nuclear with a 2 for all the others.
Discussion was not too bad, though I overran time yet again. With the assessors walking out, I had no idea and still have no idea how I fared. But it was fine in my opinion. No chocolates though. Dun worry 06, you guys didn’t disappoint me. Hope the lesson was appropriate for an assessment though.
Then I came back to the staffroom all alone. Decided to slack in the scroom. Had my own lunch. Then went for the English Fair Finals.
It didn’t disappoint. Will put the YouTube link once I get hold of it. Watch it, it will be worth your time. Most enthu CG goes to 14 but best acting goes to 28. Most entertaining however would be 27. Winner via sms-voting was none of the above though. Go figure.. I still am.. I did the video-ing btw, so if its really bad, do tell me and I’ll get another career instead.
Memorable scenes include the “merry-go-round” of Youth Body Image, the “president of taiwan’s departure” of Political Apathy, the “rape of Amy” in Child Sex Exploitation, the many horrors of Academic and Social Pressures and the overall accents of Elitism. Do take a look.
After that, it was off to Chai Chee CC for two hours of badminton. My skills were a bit better now than it was in Malaysia. Maybe should try playing with Eugene someday. Stamina was a whole different issue though. I wondered to myself how Phildia plays too. Maybe one day I can find out. If she beats me, well, I’ll treat her to lunch? But it sounds so biased ryte, a guy vs a girl. But she looks like she could thrash me by the way she mentions her glory days in her blog. Plus my stamina needs lots of work, cuz in one 15 point match, I was already exhausted. At least I lasted almost two hours in normal play.
After that, we sat around. And sat around. Then it wasn’t so round, but we still sat. There were other people who were quite ok, but nothing spectacular. (I think im starting to see things… must have been blogging for too long I thought a circle ran and hid behind an msn conversation). Headed for dinner at the interchange but the highlight was the watermelon dessert. Interesting. The entire $7 of it. It’s this huge watermelon cut in half, with circular scoops of watermelon, longan, peach, syrup, ice and other random stuff like straw (for drinking lar…) and stuff… Then headed back on 197 which I needed Neha to tell me which stop or I’d be wasting more money. Walked back exhausted but still did laundry. Yaynesses. So now I have clothes to wear once again. Then went to sleep. Of course I did more blog surfing after typing out my junior’s junior msg in SC. That was the end of a wonderful Wednesday.Labels: Assessment, badminton, I could sing of your love forever, Jean, Kinematics, Phildia, Shermin, watermelon dessert, Yingen
