# Memories
Hey ppl. Nothing much to blog about in particular. Wanna say txs again to the people who've made my life memorable.
The council. The thirtieth. It was nice hanging out at Justin's although i will say the freezing cold wasn't too nice to bear. It was fun playing mahjong although DOA was distracting (because it didn't have sound... what were u thinking??) Txs Justin for letting us stay there and use ur kitchen to cook instant noodles. Stephanie now knows how to use the microwave oven to cook instant noodles. Yay! But really, 30th, txs for letting me hang out with u guys although im like super old and retired. Retrenched even. And some of the 31st that i know too. Txs for the hospitality. I do appreciate it cuz its really out of ur hearts that u do it and not out of compulsion. At least that's how i feel. Yup, txs for the frequent times i crashed scroom too =)
The RTs, in particular The Tropics citizens. It was nice talking to you JoJo before u leave. Yeah, its all so sudden isn't it. Well, i admit i was rather sudden too when i came. But it was nice, the squeals, i dunno how u do it. The JoJo attitude, the piano playing, the handphone-Hillsong-listening-sessions. Just doing random stuff and teaching me quite a bit about band too! Modulation and transpose. I know the difference now! Also the cutting pipecleaners from the start. "You can really cut!" Haha, comment of the year! Yup, txs for all the nonsense times we shared, the lunches together, pre-orders and the occasional sardine puffs! Eugene, txs for always welcoming me and also teaching me how to gem. Hehe. And also Rubik's and lending me ur credit card and treating me quite a few cabs and lunches. Yup, even money matters quite a lot =) But really thanks for just being a friend during my stay in TJ =) Yup, really meaningful and all the best too!
Today was meaningful in the sense that i saw my first Shakespearean (how do u spell that?) play, and it was OH MY GOSH BRILLIANT!!!!!! Yes TJC Drama Club gets my standing ovation for a play well played. A show showcased in excellence. It was a moment in life. A memory. Well, let me run through this billiant performance from my point of view.
Firstly, i paid $26 to see this production. 10 for tix, 16 for the cab fare to get there in time. Shouvik, txs SO SO MUCH for saving me that front row seat. Yes, that's how i could see u Zhiyuan and Zsa^2 =)
The opening was nice! With the whole introduction of characters. Then there was the Mariam and Actors who were really the funny people of the whole production. And then we progressed into Fairyland with some evil guy and his little minion. Ok, not little literally but yeah, it got funny from there when the love potion thing started to get screwed up.
I liked/loved the entrance of the FAIRIES!! (not to mention the accompanying FIRE!! *winks at zhiyuan*) they were so well hidden!! And the whole play really took off from there, with the set coming to life.
Donkey was funny, really funny, Lysander and Demetrius were really convincing, and funny at times. Loved the fight scene. Was funny how Zsa was sat upon too! Haha!
Yes, anymore details u should have wathced the whole production!!
But i stuck around after the production to congratulate Zsa but she never came down. Congratulated the rest on an amazing show. Went up and the rest i'll jz let those who know, know.
Went home. Went to Justin's. Did the extra Innovation Day work till about 3.30am before sleeping. Couldn't really sleep cuz it was freezing. So wore socks but it was still cold. Put my towel but it was still cold. Did i mention it was freezing? Slept at about 4 plus but couldn;t relaly sleep cuz it was freezing. Yeah, freezing! Haha, ok ok, yes it was freezing. I mean, cold, very cold like freezing? So i woke up lots and only got to sleep like one plus hours before 6am came.
Went to school for Inno Day. We got pwned/owned. The other departments were so prepared lar, with videos, prototypes, experiments, demonstrations. We were like.. blabbering about blogs and sms voting... OWNED.... But the reception was nice and got a msg from JoJo that she was in school too! Haha. Then i stoned ard.. dun quite recalled what i did. Oh yeah, went to Mind's Cafe to meet Eugene and his class! Played amny funny games, like Jungle Speed, Banana Snap, Bucket-something. And then ate there (mistake) and was almost late for drama. No Zsa, I was there while the "wedding reception" was still going on ya? So i caught the WHOLE production!! Yayayayay!! It was so worth it. i know i said already, but yeah!!
Okay, post production, decided to overnight in school. Haha! Did a few stupid things. Used shampoo instead of soap, got the lights shut off while bathing, walked to scroom when the choc was on the table. But it was a nice experience. Although Aaron was acting a little weird into the night (or early morning) and zhiyuan wasn't exactly thinking right. Lie down and watch the movie *looks at ceiling and laughs*
Yup, had fun staying over. Played bridge, sorry Hui Min didn't get to bridge with you. And Big2 and watched a bit of some movie which was quite lame... Then talked quite a bit. Sorry for keeping u awake.
Finally decided to sleep at about 4am. Zhiyuan had to wake up at 5.15 for the overnight wheelchair marathon. But her alarm mysteriously didn't ring and i woke up at abt 5. Then abt 5.15 Di Hui came and immediately she woke up. Haha, cool eh? Walked to the sports com, then listened tothe briefing and went back to the scroom to rest. Didn't get much though cuz councillors started arriving for schooL. Yup, second day of sports carn. Yes i didn't bathe that morning but did help out later with the wheelchairs. Played a little badminton but the wind was screwy. Haha
Then basically bummed ard the whole day. Played the gladiator thing with Aaron and won. Hehe. Watched the funniest match ever between Cadence and Evelyn!! Basically did nothing till abt 1 plus, went home to bathe then came back for soccer cheering. Oh yes, before that i was promoting the soccer match too.
The PE tutors were drinking beer!
Finally the bus came, but not the people. Rather disappointed but oh well, 5 of us took the second bus. Cool eh, a whole bus for 5 ppl. But on the way zhiyuan and swee liang looked like they were dead. Zhiyuan was a little hard to wake, and swee liang was a little slow. Haha. We got in and cheered.
I cheered like crazy but it was honestly a disappointing performance by TJ and RJ deserved to win. Yeah, sort of lost my voice cheering for them. Then took an MRT ride back to TJ.
Met JoJo and Eugene! Haha, so nice. The final meeting of the Tropics before we part our ways. Went a little high in there but it was all cool. Stopped by the guitar prep rooms and JoJo gave her stuff and then i got seats with Eugene cuz shums asked us to go early to get good seats. Then went opposite a while then soon the concert started.
Let's jz say i did a lot of screaming and shouting for my students. And also, there was one "GO STAGE CREW" that was Mr Eugene. Stuck ard after the concert. Gave a little something to my students. Then left for home. Shuming looked dead tired. Haha.
Yup, point to note. In thesse two days, i slept only less than 4 hours, and I didn't feel tired or sleepy. Some crazy HIGH!!

# Spring...
Interview coming up. I want this. Yup. Prayed about it, and i want it. I need it.
Tuesday 11am somewhere along Jalan Bukit Merah. Not too sure how to get there, but i'll find out. I guess i've sort of ruled out NTU in my mind. But I don't want to have to go through uni on another ASEAN scholarship. It will be sad.
Spring Singapore. Read up about you. I guess it's something i can do for quite a few years. But of course i need to know what u really want and deliver it this Tuesday.
Okay, a little recap of the weekend. Friday was cool. Went for Choir Concert. It was nice, especially the musical this year. Met some of the choir people again. And Ms Tham vaguely remembers me. Yay! Haha. Carian was dancing in front of my side of teh audience but i don't think she saw me. Valarie was singing on my side too, didn't notice me either, but then again, she was supposed to be lookign at Ms Tham anyway. Had difficulty spotting Shi Yun but i saw her during the musical. light green scarf =)
The concert was good. Ushering was very bad. Emcees were a little off, not quite the right atmosphere. And the programme booklet was.... erm... smelly. Yes it was, go smell. But overall it was a nice concert.
Gave a little (yes, it was quite little i know...) something to carian, shi yun and valarie (whose name was spelt valerie in the proramme booklet) and then took off to eat dinner with eugene. Newton circus. First time, overpriced, but at least the Hokkien mee was nice =) I don't eat prawns though. Sad eh? But txs eugene for dinner =)
Then took 48 home and slept. Next day had College Day.
Met up with many people. Txs for the camera in the morning Yumei! Took some pictures, talked a bit. Then sat down, went to audi, didn't sit down. Went walking ard with Ben Tham. Then had to sit down when it was about to start.
The college was rather pretty, but its jz a facade. I found out that Dr Vivian Balakrishnan is a young man. Haha, that changes quite a bit of my perception, and his speech was not bad. I guess its a pre-requisite to be a politician? Got stephy to take pics for me. Txs Steph! I know it must have been difficult.
Got my awards, for SC (plaque), 4As (CAC Award), Overall Top Student (Some-guy's-name trophy) and gave the valediction. Cadence and Zhiyuan got awards too. The council's a brainy one this year!
Ok the valediction.... Let's see, i have heard many different things abt it. I was nervous. So stupid lar.. But i sort of settled in after a while. There were those who were laughing (yes, i won't embarrass u here) and those who were trying hard not to laugh. But i tried. I am proud of myself, and i think my valediction wasn't as boring as last years. Yay =)
Yes, i loved college day! Yes, call me proud but its something that im proud of myself. Of course i know its not jz me who could have done it alone, but i think its something i will remember for my whole life =)
Talked to many people, parents (some of which i don't know), tutors, juniors, friends, students. Then went for class outing. All 10 of us. 9 most of the time. Ate at Surf n Turf. The food there is not bad. And had a nice "discount" when they didn't add Mei Lien's meal to the bill. But the owner so nice say no need to pay. Haha. Of course they did spill water on grace and teik kheng, so they did kind of owe it to us? Yup, talked a lot. Ni Ying wants to buy laptop. (Ma) Lay Sian either wants to be a teacher or an accountant. Pei Fen, haha, she's definitley not committing suicide at 25 anymore. Mei Lien is gonna go UK. The guys... are in army. Period.
Then walked ard, went for YA.
I was ridiculously dressed from college day for YA, so they got me to be the "late usher" which is the guy who gives out this letter to those who were late to remind them to come early for service next week cuz we're locking the doors at 7.30pm sharp. Yup, honour God with our time. So it was not too nice a job, but it was alright. Although the speakers weren't. Just the left one i think. Winnie and Addy had a hard time with the sound board this time.
Yup, other than that, service was ok, ended on time and we ate chicken rice for dinner and i went home.
Shall skip Sunday. For those of you who are wondering, take a long thought of how (our cell in particular is doing) and then maybe u'd understand the way i reacted.

It seems so long ago, looking back. It was rather a dull day other than the fact it was fry-day. Eugene and JoJo had quite a fun time giving out points. Sorry to Shermin and co who walked away and missed 1000 pts. Mostly did scholarships and university applications. Mostly a boring day, feeling rather lost. And was actually looking forward to Friday. Mahjong seemed tempting.
Friday
Continued applications from the previous day. Also saw Eugene playing TD with Aaron. Had Canadian $10 lunch as well with the RTs. Nice. Im really not in the mood to blog, but its sort of the reason why im blogging. Just wanna be FOUND. By so many poeple. But I'll be back on this issue. More of what happened next that was quite exciting.
Guest appearance of Jia Yi in TJ. Met her at scroom. Had quite a nice time talking. About council. What went right and the many wrongs. The traditions. The fun. The mistakes. The fights. The people. Its common knowledge that the 29 has been outshined by the 30. We all know they've pulled the right strings in and left some loose. They've held the right people close while for us, its only a shadow to be feared.
A unity we could only hold together has been cemented

Council has been good. It always will be, it's the very essence that keeps it going. No matter the batch, the traditions held, the culture taught or the knowledge passed down. It will groom you if you let it. It will teach you if you are willing to learn. To Diantha and Cadence, if you want to run for council, give it your best shot. If you get in, don't waste the many chances to learn and grow. It won't be easy, I know, but it will be harder if you get in and don't benefit from it.
Had a great time talking with JY, showed her 06 and 21 in the hall during the emo time they had. Danced two mass dances and a speedy. Laughed a lot at the chaotic fun-dance. Pointed out ppl like Eugene, Samuel, Cadence, Yumei, Mengting and others from 06 and Julie, Shuming and others from 21. Didn't find 04. Sorry. But then, all good things come to an end and it was time to leave the hall.
Back to scroom and then left to meet 06. Yay. But then realised i didn't have my wallet with me. Made 06 wait quite a lot. Sorry Yumei, knew u were really not feeling weel. Rushed to the staffroom and realised i didn't have my wallet. So I was heading for dinner at Simpang with 06 OGLs + Joanne without any money. But of course they weren't gonna let me starve and Cadence and Diantha offered money. Txs for the offer and esp Diantha for the $10.
Walked to the 2 and 9 bus stop and got on after quite a long wait and a talk on sc life. Finally reached Simpang Bedok and met 21 there. Haha, Shuming was so terrified of the pokes. And i did finally give in to one poke as 21 were leaving. Sat down and took almost forever to order. The menu wasn't very clear or helpful either so I had a mango with lychee dessert and 1 plain and 1 egg prata (read roti canai to Malaysians). Should have ordered my dessert later cuz it came way before anything and I slowly ate it. Some things i found out that night
- Cadence is a VERY slow eater
- Diantha is a slow eater
- Cadence, Karilynn and Dianthaaaaa all wear braces
- Stephanie is a healthy eater
- Yingen and Jaren eat fast
- (i already knew this but) 06 is full of cam-whores. Haha
Then after a very long dinner and queue time paying we left for Yumei's. The surviving people that made it there were just Yumei (duh), Ying and Jar EN, Cadence and Dianthaaaaa.
Had a nice bus ride with almost the whole bus to ourselves then reached Yumei's place which is so cool. Wish I could stay there. Haha. But the rooftop is really nice. Except people that are still high from orientation decide to bang the railings to cheer beats and stomp on the rooftop rather than enjoy the scenery. Took more pictures. Man... One should get Yumei an analogue camera and see how she suffers with film. Then went down for Mahjong and i surfed the net.
Took a swap after that and played mahjong instead, but ended up losing all anyway. Yup, so my mahjong skills haven been upgraded. But this time I could play without reference to the paper. Ok fine, I had to ask Yumei or Diantha, but well, i wasn't totally blur. I think. lolz.
Then had more fun playing bridge with Diantha. Ok, clarification on the scoreline, it was 3-2. So nobody thrashed anyone although i totally owned the first game and she almost owned the last no-trump game until I got control. Haha. Finally got the mahjong ppl to bridge. Which was a good thing cuz 4 man bridge is so much better. Bad thing cuz Yumei doesn't bridge so she curled up on a sofa and slept. Sorry to Yumei again. Then instead of leaving at 11 to get the last bus, we decided to stay till 11.50 to cab home and avoid the midnight surcharge. Jaren got his dad to come.
So we bridged on, was really fun to bridge once again, legally. Haha. And major discovery here is....
-Dianthaaaaa is the ultimate blur queen at bridge! *gives stacks of mahjong tiles!!!*
Finally we decided to leave and Dianthaaaaa led the way. You can so tell that this was a recipe for disaster but we were all too tired to realise. She didn't know the way. So we just walked till we reached a road. So much for avoiding the midnight charge. Then we found a taxi. Without a driver... Dotzzzz... Continued walking until we found a cab and took it home, with Cadence dropping off first in TP, then Dianthaaaaa the blur queen at Simei and me last. For the record, I owe
