# First Lecture
Today was a nice day! People I have to thank God for
Jean
Amande
Chun Ping
Samuel
Ok, let's start the day proper. Did QT in the morning, which filled me with awe as i jz thought of the temple Solomon built. Not only did he have the riches for it, he didn't spare the time either. 7 years of construction. With help from neighbouring countries too. 7 years.. thats like me and my uni bond combined, just to build a building roughly 27 metres wide. Not that big when u consider modern day buildings.
Ok, back to modern day and time. Today was (supposed to be) lunch with Jean and Aman! First stop, Temasek Hall. I have got to say it's the nicest hall i've seen so far!! I haven't seen Kent Ridge and I heard it's even better, but if u r considering a hall, and u dun mind the name Temasek all over again, go Temasek Hall, their double room is HUGE! By, huge, i refer to NUS accomodation standards lar of course. Anyway, when i reached (or so i thought, cuz i alighted one stop earlier) TH, i called Jean, and instead of her telling me where to go or that she'll pick me up, she and aman were happily screaming into the phone. Talk abt being enthu!
Yup, so i entered her room with aman inside, ate doughnuts, talked lots of crap, and eventually Jean's friend Shimin (not the one currently in MJ if you're from 21/07) from NUS Business came too. Apparently lunch was with quite a few ppl. Who else? Well, a certain Aini and Charmaine, courtesy of Aman, who they want to kill for bringingthem all the way from The Deck (FASS Canteen) to TH and back to The Deck. but if u think the bus ride is the problem, it'snot. It's the fact that The Deck is on lvl 6 of FASS. So yup, it was a nice climb all the way back up...
Only to discover that it'sabsolutely packed with FASS and all-over-the-campus students. So our hopes of eating the "best food in NUS" were dashed. We also were melting from the heat and so we headed up to the BK (7th storey, without elevator!) So after finally getting a seat in an aircon place, we decided to do... nothing!
Yup, waited and Jean and Shimin decided to get fruit juice. Aman needed to find the arts library. Which is apparently non-existent as it is actually the same thing as the Central Library! So we looked around in vain for the "Arts Library". But we did discover unfriendly trees, and a loop around the The Deck! Smart eh? So we eventually figured out (ok fine, aman got called by her senior) where the library was and we were on our way. Aman was headed for Radio Pulze, NUS Student Radio Channel. Cool eh? We climbed up even higher than The Deck, so i guess u could call it the Upper Deck, onl it's called CDTL. CD what? Dowan tell u! Go find it in NUS urself! Haha. It'salmost the highest point in NUS, sensible for a broadcasting place, but not for a CCA if you intend to join it.
We reached the place where the security access is so strict only abt 15 students have access to the studio, where even Aman's senior had to call for someone on the inside to open up. So he did, we walked in to a sub-class studio, but not bad for an on-campus one. Had the whoel curtains and lights thingy and also a broadcasting room which i mistook for an outdoor toilet! Haha. What doyou expect when u see one wooden room all by itself not connected to anything? Even better was who came out of it! Chee Kiang! Haha, so much for being a toilet, it was my ASEAN senior who is a campus DJ. Not bad eh?
Aman had a rather simple casual interview, and i was there sms-ing away while thinking if i even wanted to consider joining Radio Pulze. Yup, fast forward, we spent time watching lame youtube videos after the interview and Jean and Shimin had already left for classes. Aini and Charmaine were 1 up, they left, for home. So it was just me and Aman left. So we decided to make the best of the time we had left in NUS by looking for Clementi Book Shop and NTUC.
What i found out was Clementi and Bedok are very similar in design. The central area looks almost like a coopy of Bedok. It's like those brushes u have in Photoshop, sprinkle some in Bedok, some in Clementi, same design, different layout. It even has a library nearby, NTUC, fast food, very eeriely familiar.
Ok, we wandered around like lame ppl, then found the elusive NTU, i mean NTUC. Hehe, yup. Looked ard and bought only my soap powder. Couldn't find pail, door mat, water bottle or hangars. Yup, that's my shopping list in case u were wondering.
Then headed down to Clementi Book Shop which we found by God's grace, cuz we had totally no idea where it was at all. The bookshop was quite interesting, except they dun accept NETS for purchases below 50. Yeah, but it does give free book wrappers! Cool!
Then Aman left for her home, but we bumped into Cindy and a familiar face whose name i don't remember. Oh oh, i also bumped into LONG LONG TIME FRIEND, Kangya!! Still as cute as always! Haha! But then talk with her until she got pang-seh-ed by her friends, then had to rush after them. Cool cool. Found out Jiayi is also in NUS for now. Also met Xiao Yun at the bus stop!
Ok, that's the few random ppl i bumped into. And the next one is not so random, it was Chun Ping, who was taking the same GEM as me. Thank you God for putting me on that bus, i now had a lecture partner, who then reserved a seat for me. He was with his ChEEs OG ppl. Yun Ling (i think), Ka Man (i think, or Karmen), Koi Something.. eekkk. yeah, didn't really get to know them.
Before i headed off for lecture, bought food for lunch/dinner and crashed at sam's in Raffles. Bumped into Clara or Ka-La. Hehe, some TJCian in RH. He has an enviable laptop, and a very very enviable PRINTER. Anyone with a spare printer, help would be greatly appreciated!!! But yeah, ate and chatted a while, before rushing off to PGP and then to LT 32 where i met the ppl whose names i can't quite remember.
But all in all, I think prayer really really works. Cuz i prayed for friends to be around for my first day, and he really let me bump into many ppl! But the most amazing have been Aman and Chun Ping. Txs for all the help today. Sam and Jean too. Jean, let me say it again, I AM JEALOUS OF TEMASEK HALL!!!!
Yup, that's almost all about my day. Shall not tell u how i wasted 20cents in the laundry room. Off to dry my clothes now!Labels: Aini, Amande, Charmaine, Chun Ping, Friends, GEM 2901, Jean, Sam, Shimin

# Without Work
Monday
So its finally come. Im unemployed. Retrenched. Saded.
Yup. But i still made my way back to TJ like Fe drawn to a magnet. Ok, more like i miss the people there!!
Yup, was back in school, but i woke up like super late cuz i was going crazy on MSN with Yumei. Haha. And first thing i did in school was to pass Yumei the College Anthem. "JAZZ" version. Haha, i hughly doubt it cuz every possible genre is in this version!
Yup, then bummed ard the staffroom. packed up some of my stuff. Got my stuff for NTU ASEAN zapped. Then i walked home cuz i forgot to take some certs. But i was being an idiot cuz i didn't bring anything from my table home. LAME... So now i still have a lot of stuff to bring back. They include
-leather shoes
-blue octopus =)
-03's tee =)
-21's boxes =)
-many cards/notes/papers
-certs
-dictionary....
-pillow (dun bother asking)
-random stuff like water bottle, pencil case...
Ok, i shall bring some home today.
Slacked in the staffroom quite a lot. Then got my stuff certified and went for college day rehearsal. Also left the 4X4 Rubik's with Yingen who passed it to Zhiyuan. They (including Julie, i dunno why.. haha) were making Invest souvenirs. Haha, i think i looks nice, but too tiring to make. Hehe. Lazy.!
Went for a REALLY USELESS college day rehearsal. Yup. USELESS till i have NOTHING to blog about. And even more sad was that i was late to meet Jean for Thai food!
Met Fer n Co. in the way out. Feel sad for them. Beta HC... Met Claire n Co too. Claire helped me mail my shcolarship stuff. Yay. But she also told me the wrong bus to take to Suntec. Boo...
Had to make a switch to 14/196. Did it at hostel's bus stop. Too bad didn't see anyone there. Took 196, met Jean and walked into Shaw Tower. Which looks like a hidden shopping centre! Then looked for Aman who was hiding in the toilet! Haha! Met her at Subway and then Xinyi (who Jean went and caught) too as we made our way to the Thai Restaurant. Dunno the name though. Haha
Let's see what we ordered.
-2 Plates Thai Kuey Teow
-1 Plate Thai Noodles
-1 Plate Thai fried rice
-1 Bowl of Tom Yam Soup
-1 Green Curry
-1 Plate of Mango fried chicken
-1 Plate of Kang Kung
-1 complimentary Mango salad
All this for only $8 per person. Ok, $32 in total. Not bad ryte? But it rocks even more cuz the food actually tastes really GOOD!! Yup, and then we started off eating normally. Until we started to get a little full and started talking. Then we were sprouting more nonsense than there was food on the table. Haha!
Ok, we talked a lot, i mean a lot! of crap. Haha!! And we were apparently there for quite a while cuz the shop uncle had to ask us if we had any more orders cuz they were gonna stop taking orders. So .... it didn't matter and we talked even more. Haha!!
Ok, eventually we had to leave and decided to go n get ice cream instead. From Tom's Pallete. I think. Really wierd plavours they have there. They include
-Wasabe lime (suicidal)
-Tau sa piah (erm, eat the real thing better)
-Teh Tarik (same like above)
-Black sesame (its really black, and... yeah that's all its good for)
-Pink guava (refreshing)
-Chocolate banana (oooohh!! nice!!)
-Chocolate (nice!)
-Im sure they had many other random stuff... but i forgotz liaoz
Haha, this shop really quite cool, they let u try all the flavours before u buy,a nd i think the four of us did jz that. Must have looked really bad cuz we tried almost everything, and ended up only buying two small cups. Hhaa. Aman and Jean shared one, and Xinyi and I shared the other. They had Pink Guava + Choc. We had Banana Choc + Choc! Which looked like pure choc! Haha
Then we were laughing so much outside the store, it was quite funny for us to go back and get tissue after leaving the store for abt 20 minutes? Haha. Yes, we laughed quite a bit at the customers after us.
We talked a lot more crap outside and eventually left. Haha... missed 10. It was rather lame. Took 14 instead. Talked even more. What else is there to do on a bus ride ryte? And then went to Jean's to watch Desperate Housewives. Really evil show. And after that Jean was really sleepy and she had work today. I didn't. So i left, walked home to Sennett and slept.
Tuesday
Woke up relatively earlier. Did nothing except rehearse "my" (after it was cut down like a totem pole) speech for college day. Then packedup my place a bit. Ate lunch. Parked. Blogged.
Tuition soon. Not feeling well. Sneezing a lot and feeling too cold in the staffroom. Oh, peeked by to see Invest. I think Zhiyuan saw me, unless she was waving to go for the NY invest. Nice seeing some of my students again. =)Labels: Amande, Desperate Housewives, Jean, Julie, Parked, Rubik's, Shaw Tower, Thai Food, Xinyi, Yingen, Zhiyuan

# The Cause
Tuesday
Let me jz say i can't remember what happened today. HAHA. Sorry to anyone who's offended i can't remember.
Wednesday
Ok, this one at least got something to blog abt. Lets see, had nothing in the morning except GEM TD. haha. Finally killed the final damage test! ALL 600k DAMAGE man!! and the final test didn't even survive to enter the final round of the maze. M ua ha ha ha. Slates rock! Woo HOO! My maze = 3 ancient slate + 1 Wraith slate = TOTAL OWNAGE!! Oh yeah, there was lesson after that
It was a single with 06 and intro-ed genocide to them. Then let them off to do self research. Half went to IT Lab 4, the other half was at hub. Laughs goes out to Ferena. Sometimes u really do act like a bimbo! haha. but too bad u don't qualify to be a bimbo! cuz u're too smart! *winks*
Things to note
-IT Lab monitors are in horrible condition
-So are the mice
-The internet isn't exactly reliable there
-Ferena and the mouse (lol)
Then it was time for glorious lunch. Which i forgot what i ate, no wait.. er.. oh.. malay food. the sambal changed. Not nice liao. Time to switch to Aunty's Corner. Haha. Then it was soon time for staff conf. Which was totally redundant for us second grade teachers. Except for signing attendance. Then the fun part started.
31st SC Intros
For the 29-ers reading my blog here's the update.
Intros was done in the audi. The tone was rather formal. But it was diff cuz all the nominees from a particular house take the stage, then take turns to intro themselves one by one. I think they were too afraid and from what i saw 60% or more gave the standard "i wanna serve the college and be a bridge" speech. BORING. Seriously, even the 30th one was better. But i only saw Gamma (ROCKS!!) and Delta nominees so i can't say for sure.
Then it was Q&A (no longer hastings). Why? Cuz Ms N wants to change things a little, so this year, apparently there weren't supposed to be annonymous questions, but i asked one on behalf of students anyway. Jz one, but it was loaded. And also, they no longer had the 4 rows thing, they had 2 ridiculously long rows, and did one switch.
The answers were the standard PC answers, boring once again. So boring i didn't bother staying till e end. And yup, the traditional post Q&A "debrief" was carried out behind the Audi, although it was on grass this time as classrooms are now built behind the audi. Yup, CLASSROOMS at the area behind audi. So sad ryte...
But anyway, i didn't stay for the demolition of the nominees, stayed in 222 and helped out the ppl there. But yeah, they did have the traditional "presidential" bomb and all, but i dunno how severe it was. But im sure it wasn't as "good" as what we went through. Haha, cuz Ms N didn't have to interfere. And they also continued the "debrief" outside the SC room where the classic "close ur eyes and look down" questions were asked.
I had to leave for tuition but was late cuz 38 took forever to arrive. But i met JiaChen on 38 and talked with her. Apparently she doesn't understand the Physics of SciCo. Haha. And hopefully u get into Uni of Mich k! Or Hong Kong sounds great too!! Met Jean on the MRT too! Haha, really small world eh? Talked until City Hall then left JiaChen on her long trip back t Bukit Batok (i didn't know such an MRT station existed... hehe... paiseh) while i continued to Toa Payoh.
Had tuition, then had macs for dinner! YAY! Love my Mc Spicy meal with Milo! Then got informed abt the Karen Mission team's problems and the Prayer Meeting was set in motion.
Ok, will continue this post, need to go and meet 21/07 in CR 133 for lessons. BBLabels: 31st SC Intro, Debrief, Ferena, Gem TD, Jean, JiaChen, Karen Mission

# Heart of Worship
Saturday
Im still ecstatic over my A level results. Hehehe. My cell group also did quite well. Shall not write their results here lest they get angry if people find out, but lets jz say there are two 8D people, one 5D, one 4A, many great results that God blessed!
Yeah! I was really awesome. And today started off well with me waking up relatively on time compared to previous saturdays. Which translates to me being on time for tuition on saturday. So this saturday is different cuz 1 - i was on time 2 - i wasn't a pig!
Gave tuition which was rather easy, just finished Electromagnetism and went through questions. God, thank you for refreshing my memory. Especially the van de Graff machine MCQ. Half way through tuition i found out i wasn't on for today's service so that meant i had the whole afternoon to myself. That's where the A level blog came in.
MRTed from Toa Payoh to Bedok and stopped for KFC there. First KFC meal in quite a while. Sorry Macs, too many McSpicy's already. At least Macs Mayo n Garlic Chilli is still nicer then KFC's chilli that so hard to open. So i settled for tomato sauce instead. Then almost caught 197 but had to settle for 196 instead.
Reached home and blogged. Then did my pre-service prayer and QT as well. In no time it was time for pre service prayer. In rushing I kept on making mistakes lar. And Gabriel told me to get a projector ready. I thought it was an overhead projector so i typed the 9 names into my phone. I reached there on the dot of 6.15 and disappointed Gabriel. But i still got the most of my sharing prepared. And to my embarrassment, the projector was an LCD one and good thing Rayvin already prepared the slides. I was so blur, confused and embarrassed. But nvm. It went well, enough for me at least for my first time.
Shared on Encouragement - The Spoken Word. First scripture came from QT, Psalm 94v18. Oh wow.. i can remember the chapter and verse. Yup. Then prayed with the Musicians and main idea was on the atmosphere of the service of expectancy and response. Which really came true, but more on that later.
The day was far from over when I ended pre-service at abt 6.55. Went to Hall 3B and the musicians were already there. Met Winnie at the pc/soundboard. Talked a bit and Meredith called me. Realised in all the rush, i forgot my sermon book, Bible and watch. Txs for bringing it to Hall 3B for me! Then Gabriel called me to help him out with the lightings. Which i tried to do but didn't know how to unknot the wires so i just resorted to cutting it. Haha.. Not literally, but quite so. Anyway, didn't follow the right procedure for setting up. Sorry Ying Chuan and L.A Team. Then Joel came and helped with the setting up. Found the most retarded scissors in the world and after struggling, managed to set up the 4 lights. Yes, 4 was an accomplishment k? OK fine, Joel did 1. 3 then. Still good! Haha.
In all the rush, I didn't have time for dinner and the quick run down to SPC was jz left behind. Then it was soon 7.30 and i went to get a drink. Saw MY n BS outside. BS was eating char siew rice. He couldn't finish it and was rushing so i ate the other half. Yay, God blessed me anyway with a dinner! Ok, a mini dinner. Waited for BS and met XiuYu who went in first. Then we went in.
Praise was alright, Now That You're Near still felt far. Then moved into All I Want Is You which was goo and Show Me Your Face, a new song which was nice. Took a while to learn it though. Then too soon, worship was over and it was Gabriel with the announcements and Ying Chuan with his A level testimony. From F/O to A/B. wow...
Then it was the awesomely powerful Rachael Guna with part two to Explosive Praise and Extravagant Worship. Here's a brief run through of the superbly powerful sermon/sharing.
EXTRAVAGANT WORSHIP
Things I didn't know
- God commands us to praise Him when times are good or bad. But He seeks out true worshippers. When we worship in spirit and in truth, God will come and find us, search for us, look upon us.
- Worship comes from the Greek word proskuneo which implies reverence and bowing down
Things that were POW!!
- Worship is intimate. 1 on 1, unlike praise which can be as a group
- It's God focused. So even when we don't "feel" anything from worship, it doesn't matter. Cuz you're supposed to be giving to God. Rachael : "So you mean you have been receiving all this years in your worship?" HAHA... Don't take it wrongly, God blesses and touches us, but its not how we feel after worship that matters, but how God feels
- Between worship and service, God would choose a true worshipper. Cuz all God wants is us, not what we can do for Him. Luke 10v38-42
- We worship first then are we forgiven. So no matter how "unclean" or unworthy we feel, we should still worship Him, then the forgiveness and healing will come. Luke 7v36-50
- God can respond to worship by revealing things to us. This goes out specially to Claire. When the world seems to see the wicked prospering, the evil not being cast away, when things go wrong, we can only start to understand when we worship. Read this RHEMA verse people!!! Psalm 73v16-17
- And finally, not forgetting that God loves us in return when we worship Him. The all powerful Mighty to Save verse is here. I found it out suring QT and remembered it when Zephaniah 3v17 was flashed on the screen. But focus on the ending!
Things that Im still blur about
- What does it really mean when people say God is no man's debtor? Please respond anyone who knows? Either comment or shout/talk please?
- How did Abraham know it was God speaking to Him to sacrifice Isaac? When people teach us to listen to the voice of God, they say check what u heard "from God" agianst what is said in the Bible. The Bible obviously bans us from sacrificing humans, much more our own children. How did this father of faith know God's voice so well?
Please do explain to me if you know in the addition section at the end of this post. Thanks!
Then we went into extravagant worship after the sermon. I have NEVER (I am purposely using an absolute word here) experienced such worship before. It was really, wow. Revived my soul, my inmost being. More than just rejoicing over A levels, im rejoicing on the inside as well.
Church rocks!!! YA rocks!!!
Then we quickly packed up and wanted to continue or surprise for FangXian. This is now Cell Surprise no. 3. We tried to quickly pack up but everyone was everywhere. Quite frustrating and we were late already. Tried to reach airport by 11 but by 10.50 we we still just outside church. The surprise crew consisted of me, BS, MY and Winnie.
We got into a cab finally and reached the airport slightly after 11 but BS had called to make sure FX was still around. Found her shop but no sign of FX, so we walked nearer. Still no sign until suddenly we saw FX come out to close the shop. BS n MY ran to hide beside the shop while Winnie and I dashed under a railing to join BS n MY. Then we stood right beside the shop, leaning against the wall and suddenly, FX came out of the shop to close a door or pull down a shutter. She was like, 30cm away from us and DIDN'T NOTICE US!!! The four of us turned around and walked away thinking what idiots we were standing so close to the shop and got noticed. We were giggling and feeling stupid, but little did we know that FX was more blur.
Waited quite a while above C.E.D.S and saw FX come in and out quite a few times. She had no idea we were above her. MY also tricked me a few times. Darn. Tried the poking thing but not as fun as when I do it on 21-ers. Finally FX came out and BS, then MY and Winnie, then I surprised her. Then we decided to go and eat at Popeye's. Long story cut short, the top 5 blur people of YA, in decreasing order of merit are
1. Wu Fangxian
2. Lim MeiYian
3. Roland Tan
4. Gabriel Gay
5. Unclaimed as of yet, but Winnie apparently has a one day lag time (improved from one week!)
Then we had a long talk on how to get home and after a long long long long deliberation, we decided to cab back at 1 plus am. Not the wisest of choices due to surcharge and airport pick-up, we cabbed 3-2 back to our homes. Decided that one day we will crash FX's house.
Reached home and went online and sms-ed a bit. Replied tags and shouts on my blog. Chatted and then fell asleep. Sorry Winnie.
Sunday
Missed Jayne cuz she was late. Sorry its the last day already. Went to church and sat in the 2nd row for the first time I think. Service was great, but still YA was better. Songs were VERY nicely put together. This Is The Day to Everyday With You Lord. Nice. Then I Could Sing of Your Love Forever. Very nicely done. The sunday worship team is so pro at medley-ing lar... Then had cell talk and Grace from simply joining for the talk was dragged to lunch. Haha. Jean was there too. Yay. Talked and then did our weekly grocery/chocolate shopping.
On my checklist was still the strawberry milk. Hee... and on the choc list was Kinder Bueno. Other chocs n drinks bought were 1.5L coke, 1.25L Kickapoo, Kit Kat Chunky and Black Forest Cadbury.
Then we split our separate ways. Stopped at FX's bus stop a while. Coral, Maddy and Mishuel (obvious spelling error, sorry) joined in a while then i reached home and did this post. Yay. Sunday rocks. Laundry next. Shifting at night I think. Bye room.Labels: BS, C.E.D.S, cab, FX, Gabriel, Jean, MY, Roland, Winnie, Worship

# The Race Continues
Sunday
Sunday was good yet again. Except for the minor issue of being late for pre-service prayer. Oh well, Ms Tong will be early next time im sure (= Praise and worship was awesome, Particularly liked the pause they did for the bridge of “I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever” to the chorus. The timing was spot on, and I’ve never heard any band do it like that before. Cool. Gotta try it out back in church in Malaysia. *BIG SMILE* Preaching was by Ps Ang who shared on… hmm, can’t quite remember exactly what the title was, but something about how everyone should be ready to serve *takes out a jug and a bottle to remind those who were there*
Then we had a quick cell talk with prayer for BS n Jeremy who are in NS and those who weren’t there. Hope to see you guys ard soon. Then it was off to lunch at Toa Kong for chicken rice. First time I wasn’t with cell for lunch. But it was cool. Headed back to home then to church for bass lessons. Just confirmed that I will be playing on the 24th. Yay, my first time in YA. That will be an awesome time to remember. Aand if anyone wants to come and see if I can actually play a bass, stop by Emmanuel, Hall 3B at 7.30pm on 24th k? After bass, headed home and slacked. Did the basics of housekeeping for my clothes and rested.
Of course not before I created my most creative PowerPoint presentation on the family ever. But then again, think it might be too lame for some to stand (pun so intended)
Monday
I was so ready for classes today and 21 and 06 were in for the lamest of my powerpoint slides ever. Soon, ok 10am, it was time for my lesson with 06. They were not really awake yet except they wanted chocolates. So here I justify my stand that chocolates are for everyone, not just primary sch kids! *winks to shuming* Yup. It went well. At least that’s how I felt it went, haven’t read any comments on the lesson though.
Then it was 21’s turn for the ice-cold lameness. But somehow, Phildia and Shermin were all prepared, with every type of ammunition to get all the chocs they wanted. But, alas, I was quick to find out the perpetrator who leaked the info. It was none other than –yingen- who has a pre-dated post on 06’s blog, this December! I tried to backdate it but not sure if it works. And 06, I understand the tortures of putting up a post, so in the end, not ur fault if ur blog doesn’t win. Yeah, back to what yingen did, she told Phildia all the answers! Then Phildia got a few chocs instead of just one. Shermin too. *faints*
Yeah, that was the lameness for the day, but after that, it was back to serious work at Tao.. darn.. Toa Payoh for Physics. My favourite chapters – Kinematics. Looks a lot like cinematics, except much more fun!! Yup, two hours of linear motion. So fun (not sarcastic) *glares at those who hate physics*
And the day didn’t end there. Took 36 home, which was much smoother this time and then walked a bit… actually quite a lot, to Jean’s to teach her functions. Ok, more of a refresher course cuz she actually knew all that already. With maths out of the way, it was time to have a look at Jean’s laptop. It now comes complete with a bag which satisfies criteria no. 1 and doesn’t look fugly like the ones at Funan. First thoughts, it was Huge. A widescreen yes, but wide enough to be cut into half and used as two separate laptops. Hehe. But nonetheless, that meant more arm-rest space which is so often overlooked this days. I have issues with the mousepad though. Too hard for my liking, but it does the job. Scroll functions also a bit screwy. Hence the need for a real-physical mouse. But that was cool, did blog surfing, and talking and eventually went home before I was 100% sure I would be a zombie the next day
Tuesday
Today was slightly better, in terms of classes cuz I only had one. But still, I had to survive till 1 before I should go home to get my full paycheck. And it’s now certain that my paycheck per day is 65, no CPF for me. Sobs a little. Maybe would be more if I knew exactly how much I am missing in terms of free government money.
Class with 04 went well, except they should have collected their quizzes a tad earlier. Intro of lameness was cut short as I spent more time on the current affairs quizzes. But not to fear, Thursday promises more lameness to come.
Then I left the school earlier than ever. 2pm. Wow, had so much time I actually read the Straits Times. Which was good, except there was this article criticizing the Malaysian Public Sector. Not sure how true it is, but yeah, they would have been imprisoned under the ISA if they were in Malaysia. And a note to Malaysians, Singapore does have its own version of the ISA and they are no trying to hide it. Every student in TJ got a handbook on the ISA which ws mostly used for throwing around at people since it was quite thick. Full use of a few hundred trees to inform the youth on this important legal issue. *kicks one around as I walk into class*
Had a nice nap, till it was a little too late for my favourite dinner so I tried kuey teow goreng from a malay stall. BIG MISTAKE. Malaysians take note again : Mamak is always better in Malaysia. Finished it nonetheless. Wished it was less though. Oh well, slept not too well as I woke up at 3.30 thinking it was morning. Brushed my teeth and went back to sleep. Bet the toilet had a shock seeing me. Cuz apparently my Wednesday hair was either too or not “stuck up” *ignores Zsa^2 and Co. laughter* (=
Wednesday
The big assessment day. Started lessons off with 21. This time they were like, majorly sleepy. Not even top gear could wake them up. Then again, there are only 6 guys in the class. Maybe Barbie would do a better job? Oh well, an interesting survey followed and we found out there was one single-parent family in 21. Shall keep class matters private. Mean family size is 4. Had a good argument and that was the lesson for the day.
Had a quick break and it was 06’s turn for the 5-way family fued. Corrected to Feud by 21. Txs. So I didn’t throw my face in front of the assessors with a glaring error projected nicely in their faces. Gave 06 a toilet break at the stroke of half time. Another pedagogical error as Ms Tan and Ms Ng walked in to a half empty class. Discussions were a bit suppressed for “some” reason as 06 toned down a little with the presence of Big Sister(s). Hehe. But it was good, and once again quite personal. 06 has all 4 family types except the Alternative. Which gave me an initial shock as Ying Ling put up her hand. I was really really surprised that someone was from an Alternative Family, only for her to realize Meng Ting must have given her the wrong info!! Yeah, after much result editing, the majority was Nuclear with a 2 for all the others.
Discussion was not too bad, though I overran time yet again. With the assessors walking out, I had no idea and still have no idea how I fared. But it was fine in my opinion. No chocolates though. Dun worry 06, you guys didn’t disappoint me. Hope the lesson was appropriate for an assessment though.
Then I came back to the staffroom all alone. Decided to slack in the scroom. Had my own lunch. Then went for the English Fair Finals.
It didn’t disappoint. Will put the YouTube link once I get hold of it. Watch it, it will be worth your time. Most enthu CG goes to 14 but best acting goes to 28. Most entertaining however would be 27. Winner via sms-voting was none of the above though. Go figure.. I still am.. I did the video-ing btw, so if its really bad, do tell me and I’ll get another career instead.
Memorable scenes include the “merry-go-round” of Youth Body Image, the “president of taiwan’s departure” of Political Apathy, the “rape of Amy” in Child Sex Exploitation, the many horrors of Academic and Social Pressures and the overall accents of Elitism. Do take a look.
After that, it was off to Chai Chee CC for two hours of badminton. My skills were a bit better now than it was in Malaysia. Maybe should try playing with Eugene someday. Stamina was a whole different issue though. I wondered to myself how Phildia plays too. Maybe one day I can find out. If she beats me, well, I’ll treat her to lunch? But it sounds so biased ryte, a guy vs a girl. But she looks like she could thrash me by the way she mentions her glory days in her blog. Plus my stamina needs lots of work, cuz in one 15 point match, I was already exhausted. At least I lasted almost two hours in normal play.
After that, we sat around. And sat around. Then it wasn’t so round, but we still sat. There were other people who were quite ok, but nothing spectacular. (I think im starting to see things… must have been blogging for too long I thought a circle ran and hid behind an msn conversation). Headed for dinner at the interchange but the highlight was the watermelon dessert. Interesting. The entire $7 of it. It’s this huge watermelon cut in half, with circular scoops of watermelon, longan, peach, syrup, ice and other random stuff like straw (for drinking lar…) and stuff… Then headed back on 197 which I needed Neha to tell me which stop or I’d be wasting more money. Walked back exhausted but still did laundry. Yaynesses. So now I have clothes to wear once again. Then went to sleep. Of course I did more blog surfing after typing out my junior’s junior msg in SC. That was the end of a wonderful Wednesday.Labels: Assessment, badminton, I could sing of your love forever, Jean, Kinematics, Phildia, Shermin, watermelon dessert, Yingen

And shopping too long will lead to delusions. Need to rest. Need food. Trust me. This is a real picture.
