# The Lecture Edition
Im now in LT7A and am totally not bothered to listen to the lecturer. Why am I even awake at 9am? Cuz I already attended this lecture by another lecturer, and this lecturer is currrently goign through the same questions again.. So yeah.. rather lazy to listen to the same thing again.
This week has been very happening cuz mainlyof Sarah's birthday, which we combined with Jeremy's. But it also meant I forgot to hand in my assignment for EG1109.. sian.. Study too much for that exam I forgot 3 things. 2 tuitions... and 1 assignment. What's the best part? I actually did the assignment.. So yeah.. hopefully the prof will still let me hand in (=
Now for the birthday celebrations, lets start from the fact I was preparing the poster for Sarah and then Jeremy, then I also completed the birthday quiz. Too bad it was too easy, and FX apparently thinks I'm too kind..
OK.... somebody's handphone just rang with some weird BOLLYWOOD ringtone with someone singing... And the lecturer just said "it's important to pay attention to this here..." And we all jsut laughed, but by the time i typed this, everyone seems to be listening again..
Ok, back to the birthday celebration, met FX at SIM at 6.30 on 151. Then waited quite a bit for 154 to come. Her friend Crystal was there too, but she mostly "zzz-ed" to her iPod. We talked about the birthday prep, and random stuff till we reached SignPost at Paya Lebar. Walked around and bought our dinner (Subway) which was a bit too much considering that we had a lot of food for the birthday surprise. Then after buying dinner, Female Magazine (for Sarah mind you) and a rose (yes, it's for Sarah once again). Then we took a 135 to some backdoor of TKGS area, then we decided to walk to her house. Surprisingly, we were the first to arrive, so we sat down and enjoyed our dinner.
Later Matthew arrived. And we all ate our subway. Ohryte, i had a $1.50 bubble tea too.. I HATE PEARLS. ok, moving along, Mian and James arrived and the real prep began. We filled up Sarah's bean bag, started cooking (more on that later) and then we changed the decor in Sarah's room. Firstly, we just placed the bean bag on the floor with a poster and rose on her bed. Then it moved onto the bed, then the animals started coming onto the bed as well (the animals are soft toys). Then finally I put the chess set in the shape of a 25 on her bed too and we took pictures. Then we spammed her room with posters. Her table, aircon, mirror and piano got spammed too. Then we went to join the cooking ppl. Mian already had many things underway. Meatballs were being heated up, some Swedish bread with cheese was being spread by James and we.. well.. were just playing ard with the rest of the food.
Too bad i dun have pictures or i could better describe the food, but since I can't i'll jz go straight to the summary of what we did. We had a cheese/tomato pizza on Swedish bread, Swedish dessert of either sour cream and salmon or mozarella cheese and ham in a, erm, i dunno what u call it, a little packet? Haha.. my vocab for food is soooo bad. THen we had Swedish meatballs too! With ligenberry sauce (which is jam, I don't care what the Swede's think =p) Why all the Swedish food? Cuz we thought Singaporeans eat too little of international cuisine.....
Yeah ryte.. cuz Sarah's boyfriend is from Sweden and there's some Swedish food she likes, and there are some people who seem to be living under coconut shells that haven eaten at IKEA before. Hehe!!
Then we also had Sushi from Sakae cuz Jeremy likes Jap food. So yeah, we had lots and lots of food! Whee~~!!
Now for the surprise. Sarah already knew we were at her house. how boring ryte? Or so we thought, but we decided to surprise her anyway. So we switched off all the lights and her mom went to open the door. Then we hid at different locations in her living room and when she came in, we shouted surprise with the camera pointed in her face! Whee~~!! She screamed and i think we had it on camera. We sang happy birthday, cake candle blowing and all. Then we went upstairs to surprise Jeremy.
He was in the house since we got there, so once again we thought, not much of a surprise here. So... We went up with the lit cake anyway. His mom knocked on the door and he came to answer and we shouted SURPRISE! His response?
***SLAMM~~!!!***
He slammed the door in our faces from shock! Haha! Then he opened again and blowed the candle and all that... Of course he would be shocked cuz it's not his brithdya yet, his bday is only on the 25th, but still in November, so would be easier to celebrate now. 25th i'll be having exams the next day, but let's not talk about that. James had the door slamming incident on video though (=
Then we had food, and while everyone went down, I sneaked into Jeremy's room to spam his room with posters. He had one in his wardrobe, aircon, table, mirrow but he had one on his window too! Hehe. Then i went down and joined the party but halfway, Jeremy went upstairs to get something, and he saw his roo already.. no fun...
Then it was Sarah's turn and she had to take the birthday quiz first and she chose a passing mark of 10 out of 16. But she scared 13 out of 16... Too smart already.. So sad.. so she got to go to her room. She opened it and saw the bean bag. She thought we took her old one (blue colour) and gave it a new skin. -.-'''
Oh well, at least now she knows we got her a new one. Jeremy thought we got him a vibrating pen. It's actually a pen Massager from OSIM. Oh well, oh well, oh well, it really runs in the family i guess.
Moving along, we had a nice dinner and cake though i was too full from it. And then we had cell till 3.30 am. Haha! Pro ryte... we started around 1.30am.. Then some watched movie, while other settled to look at our own eyelids up close...
Ok, that's all for now, shall continue some other random time i dun feel like listening to the lecturer (if i've already listened to the lecture before)

# Back
Hello ppl, i back from Malaysia
Quick recap of what has happened so far! Took a bus at 11.15pm back to SG. There was this family of a mother n her two daughters who were on the bus. They were very friendly and nice (= one of them is even a model who models in Johor and KL, the other's a Form 4 girl in Johor Jaya. Anyone heard of that school before? But anyway, it was quite funny cuz they started talking to me first and the form 4 girl was like so nervous lar when i speak to her, she will either laugh, or answer some other thing which i did not ask and then laugh. Nervous laughter but after a while she got more used to it. Of course it didn't help that i speak too fast (as always) ad her english wasn't too good. Her older sis was also very nice, she's now a full time model, and she's very pretty! :D
Wanted to ask her if i could take a photo of her, but then.... haha... i was too embarrassed. Oh well, missed the chance. But at least i got to know her a bit, and her name too. When i talked to her younger sister, the younger sister said her name was Beautiful. Haha, so its Vivian (who's beautiful) and Beautiful. Lol.
Yup, it was a nice bus ride, except for the driver who thought that everyone wanted to listen to his collection of Malay music so he let everyone on the bus listen to it, although it was like 2-3 am... Some people are morons. At least i confirmed 3 things, i dun like Malay rock, all Malay rock songs are about love and lastly, all songs go in this order - opening music, song chorus and then a super long e-guitar solo, chorus-with-tonnes-of-e-guitar, more solo and end.
Okay, so the two sisters n their mom left at Johor, and i continued on to SG. Weird thing happened at the customs office, the officers were like detaining ppl and all, at 3 am.. so sad for those ppl. Then after the customs check, the bus i was riding told me to change bus.. so sad, my water bottle left on that bus.. Oh well, took the new bus, reached beach road, cabbed for $11.40 and reached Sennett at 4.30am. Slept in the hall till 7, reached TJ at 7.30 for work!
Reached and met JoJo on the way in, had morning assembly, Sorry Zhiyuan. Wrong day to see u raise flag eh? Then had all my work come in, wah... a lot sia... Met some of the students, had western Thursday with JoJo and Eugene and then also met Cai Yu and Cass and Co at the marquee. Chat up with them before leaving. Oh before that, let me just announce that my birthday is on the 27th of JULY!! Wwhich is also the same as Evelyn. Cooll eh? Haha, my "twin", two years late.
Then went for music prac, which was not too good, cuz we were like, not used to the stage, i was not used to the bass and... yeah, lots of not used to. But it was not that bad lar, maybe just me not totally fitting in yet. But it was nice being with the music team once again! (= (=
Okay, Friday was work too, and i alsmost came late. Met and talked with more students, wore the top that was the same colour as JoJo's, which obviously got us into quite a bit of humiliation. Okay, maybe just jokes lar, not that bad. Had a second lunch with Julie, Jaren, Sarah, Zhiyuan, Zsa Zsa and then went back to TJ and stoned a while under the stage.
Then had Bible Study with Claire, Ah Xiu, Rebecca, Pei Zhi and YG. It was a good BS, and then i rushed of to give Claire her GP tuition, which was so delayed.. eek... then had Pentecost Friday at church.
We practised a bit more until time was up. Then Ps Khoon Mei came to the stage and handed Vanessa 4 more songs for us to prepare during the prayer. Haha, already we were trying to get the 4 songs we practised right, and on the spot we had to play 4 more! Lolz. Yup, so we prayed and then played and it went ok, but could have been soooo much better. Like authoritative confidence, as Rachael put it. Yup, as singing our hearts out. But i guess it also came from the fact that we'd been up there for quite a while. 2 hours plus, so not too bad i guess?
Okay, thats the service, then most ppl went to Simpang but Hosea and i went home to Sennett. Then today happened. Early tuition with Benjamin. He didn't do his work, taught binomial expansion, and then ate and did my manual laundry again. Got Gilmore Girls Season 2 from Claire (or her bro rather) and then nw did this (=
Nice to be back! Oh oh, Another announcement, i got accommodation in NUS!! But dunno where yet lar. I'll keep ya guys updated!

# Can't Live A Day
Firstly, I just wanna tell people who don't already know, what Good Friday (look above, it's scrolling. haha) is really about.
Well, the story is very simple. Nobody is perfect. So people make mistakes (sin) right? So we have to pay the price for it. Woulnd't it be good if someone else paid it for us? That would be the essence of Good Friday! Jesus paid the full price for everyone's sins today when he was crucified. So yup, there you go, everything forgiven and entry to heaven secured on this simple account of God paying the price for us. That's GOoD!
Yup, and my Good Friday was spent mostly in FX's house and Emmanuel. Fast forward the fact that I woke up late, i quickly (as quick as i wanted to at least) rushed off to FX's house although i was late. But partially, i blame my forgetfulness cuz i went out of the house 3 times before i remembered to bring everything i was supposed to bring. Haihs.. Oh well, 12 came after a while, and 155 was perfectly on time! So no waiting for the transfer too!
Then FX must have been quite scared why nobody there yet so she msg-ed me, and James also, but the super-quick me was already on Telok Kurau road and arrived within minutes. Sat around and waited for BS, ordered pizza. Played Scrabble while waiting. James had no vowels, i had no consonants. FX had nice letters (or words as she claims it) all the way! So unfair...And the game actually looked quite pro cuz we could build quite a few words side by side. Haha, it "looked" pro cuz all the words are like primary school words lar... haha.. so much for the intellectual cell.
BS arrived and then we ate pizza and Gabriel arrived too. All the rest weren't gonna come except our special guest Winnie! We decided on a movie to watch, or rather, since we were all so undecisive, BS jz picked one. The worst one i think. Windstruck. If anyone EVER watched this before, give me a shout or a comment ya? Pls, i wanna know why u watched it in the first place.
Ok ok, the story wasn't that bad, except the ending felt like it went on longer than a zombie's lifetime. Why? Cuz we all knew the guy was gonna die, and when he did, we could also predict how he was gonna die. Oh, that just proves that only the beginning was nice. So, back to the horrible ending. Let's put it this way, the show was supposed to be emo and we should all be feeling bad for the girl who lost her bf, but then, THE WHOLE CELL WAS WAITING AND LONGING FOR HER TO JUST DIE!!! Stupidly frustrating. And the girl in the movie is such a loser lar.. she jump off a 30 storey building also cannot die... -.-''
Yeah, once we were done with our frustration and fed-up with Knocking on heaven's door being mutilated by Korean singers, we played BRIDGE!! Yay, the main highlight of the outing! Too bad we could only play two rounds before FX had to go and change. Which btw took forever. Girls really need to exlain why it takes so long to get changed. Really. I mean, like, seriously, really really.
Then we walked to church, oh wait, to the St Pat's bus stop, jz that it felt like church cuz it was so far. And paying 65c per ride sucks. but at least it was a ride to church! Along the way, things i found out

Then we were actually on time for service and it was quite funny how Matthew was in a cab right beside us. Haha. Service was good, although it felt a little rushed, but other hightlight was Su-E came. So had time to catch up with her a bit and all. And oh oh, Su-E, if you ever read this, gimme a tag cuz i met ur RGS friends at FIREfly assesment round 2. Charmaine and Debbie. Oh and Hi to people from the Superhero Group if any of you are reading this! HI (=
After service, we parted our own ways. FX, MY and BS went to FX's to.. er.. i dunno. Gabriel went to meet up with his KC friends. I mean JC. lol. what a typo. I headed down to parkway for dinner with Su-E and we caught up on the past 3 months. Found out that Tao Nan doesn't have the brightest kids in Sg, contrary to popular belief. Believe me, there are BIG exceptions!
After that, i think Su-E had some other appointment so i headed back to Sennett and slept. End of a good friday (=
Saturday
Busy day, thank God had no tuition today or I would have died. Woke up, didn't eat lunch, went for music prac, which started disappointingly late. Already this week had to evac hall 3B by 3, we still started 30 minutes late. That's like, 1800 seconds late. And if one second had two crotchets, that 3600 notes wasted. U get the picture...
We did everything except the new song, which i thought was a huge mistake, cuz we spent quite a lot of time trying to polish up simple things, when in the end, we actually did the new song. But i liked the new song, it's meaningful and slightly different from how all the other songs we sing sound. If you're wondering, we did Evermore (PS), Can't Live A Day (YouthAlive), Jesus I Surrender (JD), Worship You.. (PS)
Lets fast forward to after prac, went to the youth room and finished up as much a si could, my Think Big presentation for FIREfly. Then went to beer garden at ard 4 plus for a weird lunch then back to youth room. Helped out with the "Attack of the Aprons". Sounds so weird ryte. HAHA, well, that's YA for you! Then went for musicians and preservice prayer.
Soon it was service. It didn't start out too well as Evermore was a little too upbeat and I couldn't catch the timings for Can't Live A Day. And try jz saying these lyrics, they qualify to be rap lines. Really
"God you are my God, You are my all, And everything I give to You oh Lord"
which is like sung in one breath, and it goes up all the way. Not easy for me to sing. But who ever said i could sing anyway. Haha. Then after that was continuation of Tenets of Faith which was delayed by an extra long annoucement time. Cell's moving to weekdays now!
After that, it was off to beer for dinner. And sorry to XiuYu for always running off whenever i meet u. Haha. I guess u didn't go for SYF? Catch up with ya again ya! Then had Emil (or Edmil) im not sure, from Sweden, who's like, Sarah's bf eating with us. Quite cool. He can use chopsticks. Yay, but was slower than FX at eating lar, so that's not too fast. Hehe! But then again, it was $4 of char kway teow he was eating, so i guess its balanced. Then headed home and slept. Yay. Sleeping rocks! *winks to shuming!*
Ressurection Sunday
I think Ressurection Sunday has more meaning than Easter sunday, cuz i dunno what Easter means. Oh, yeah, Yumei, Here's my Easter Post! Hope u reach until here to find it! So what is Easter really all abt, well, it's like, the most important part of Christianity.
Basically, u now know how good it was of God to pay the price for us on Good Friday right. But it would be no use if God paid the price and died. Christians would be serving a dead God, and that's like so pointless. So here's the most significant day, when Jesus was ressurected from the dead, proving that when we believe in God, we also can have victory over death. Not that death (the worst disease in the world, with a 100% uncureable record) will not come to Christians, but the curse that comes along with death, which is eternal seperation from God has been broken!
So basically, resurrection sunday is really an awesome time when we can remember that we are really saved and serving a living God who has conquered death so that we don't need to fear what happens to us after we die. And no, i don't believe in re-incarnation or transmigration of souls. There's only one chance to get to heaven. That chance is now.
So sunday started off really nice, with the whole place decked with nice palms and orchids. Surprise of the day, Su-E came in a dress! Haha, how often do you see one of those! Another surprise, there were 3 worship leaders! One from Chinese Service, one from Main, and our very own lovely Rachael!!! *cheerss!!!* There were even kids too and we did Jesus You're My Superhero in the main service!! So cool and funny!
Sermon was also really funny with the translation having "extra ingredients" compared to the english version. Haha. Really funny. Then went off to lunch, and then to church to help ShuJing
Stayed there for almost the whole afternoon and the whole evening. Jayne, MY, ShuJing, Meredith and I came up with the wonderful CFC board for the prayer room. Hall 3A in Emmanuel will now be open from Thursday onwards at night for anyone to come and pray! Cool huh! Think i will make it a point to drop by before i head home.Of course, i wanna see the lovely (though grossly oversized) board we made. Haha, looks so CFC-ish! And sorry to those of u who think i used un-glam photos of you as the background. Ultimate photo goes to Meredith. Haha!
Then went home and realised the internet at Sennett has broken down... So sad... That's why no updates for so long. I sms-ed ps Mark and he said i could go back to church. So nice of him. Love u lots Ps Mark!!! And he is going with the whole Karen team he next day to Thailand. Still let me come and use the wireless in church. So i stayed in church and finished up my Think Big and chatted a bit too.
Ate this fruit which is supposedly planted in Sg. That's right, PLANTED in SG! So rare right!! But not for long cuz e government is gonna close the plantation down. WHat fruit, u might ask? Well, i dunno, its nothing i've ever seen before. It's like an oversized banana, with rockmelon shape and a juicy taste. Yeah.. it's... yellowish?
Oh, i even got a ride back! Yay, did my laundry, ironed and everything and slept big day on Monday

Thursday
Today was a rather slow starting day. First up, apologies to Mr Eugene's student and Mr Eugene. Sorry I lost it. It's my fault.
Generally not feeling well and wanna get better in time for Monday's big firefly round two "interview" Still have to prepare my think big slides. Yupz. But generally day started off not too bad. I kind of enjoyed the 21 lesson, although i did most of the talking. Almost got everyone to speak. And covered the whole of introductin to discrimination.
But the only reason class sucked was cuz i was feeling like crap... Super lethargic but tried to teach to my best. Hope the lesson wasn't too bad ok. And to those new to 21, welcome to the lameness of my slideshows. =p. No apologies needed. And Sarah brought up a very good point i didn't think of while planning lessons. Kudos!
So i was feeling so lethargic and jz stoned in the sc room after dinner.. i mean lunch.. lol, im so tired. Then Jonathan called and asked me to go and collect some essays from CR523 cuz Ms Thangam is away. So I nicely went all the way up and saw about 7 people in the class. I thought, not bad, small class.
To my horror, they had no idea what work was to be done and so most of the class jz walked off. Haha, sorry Thangam, looks like no essay for u to mark. Of course i was pissed off i walked up 5 levels for nothing, but remained very very calm (yes i did ok...) and called Jonathan. Then he didn't pick up, so i was like.. ok.. come back to staffroom and explained e whole thing. Thangam, enjoy ur shock when u get back.
Then went to lesson with 03. 03 please i beg you, don't remind me of the 04 attitude problem. Please dun become like them. Please come early for lessons k?? Even 5 minutes late will be acceptable.. not 12.. really... dun push it..
Lesson with them was not too bad. Assigned the Genocide case studies. And then went through the elderly passage. I know this lesson didn't seemed well planned... cuz it wasn't. Arrghh.. was jz so lethargic by then. Let them off to finish their discussions and talked a bit with Carian and the ppl there. Carian insisted on getting my blog add so i hope u arrived here safely. Talked a bit abt what iplan to do in uni with them before the bell rang.
Once they left, i made sure they knew that GAMMA ROCKS!! Haha.. and Xuewen and someone who's voice i couldn't recognise cuz i didn't turn back when on chanting Doo-ga-ga-ga-ga...
Went to the staffroom after a LONG talk with Aaron, which i proceded to call Nelson, confirmed tuition was cancelled and then talked a lot in sc room. Finally got cass her letter and too bad "Mr Moi" wasn't ard. Funny thing i didn't tell u was Mr Moi is the name of my physics tuition teacher that made me love physics!! Went to lvl 3 staffroom to find out if he was there but ended up talking to Mr Terrence Ong and Mr Varella who got me to help him look for a worker.
Went to sc room after finding out that "Mr Moi" wasn't ard and cass went off with her juniors. I slacked in sc room a lot till Ni Ying came! Yay! Walked with her to the sports com after she was let down by the lack of an S! Haha, sounds wrong! But anyway, went off to sports com and Ni Ying didn't hear her friend calling her like 6 times. Haha.
Reached sports com and didn't notice Shu Li was there. Sorry hor. I offered her the job and apparently to her, Mr Varella is a funny name. And i apparently vetted her sms before she sent it. Yup, it was in proper english 9= Hope u get the job. Talked quite a lot. Watched the basketball guys and girls play. Sorry Ni Ying but i think the junior girls gave u seniors a really clean "trashing" but the guys, the seniors were like overpowering the juniors lar, although there's this one guy who's super good at blocking shots. He blocks like.... the height of 1 and a half ME! IMBA-tall and can jump so high summore.. Scary!
Then walked off and met cass who was still ard. Lol. Thought she left. And a basketball hit her. Haha. Oops, sorry i know u're reading this, but it was quite funny lar how it bounced and rolled and exactly knocked into ur leg. Hehe. Then she acted dao and didn't want to give e ball back. Haha. quite nonsensicle! (dunno how to spell it)
Then went back to sc room.. slacked... dinnered.. slacked.. came home.. blogged.. chatted... slept... haha. i hven slept yet lar, but yeah... slept!

# Unfailing Love

It was a busy day for me. At least I enjoyed what I did. Although a certain hollowness was still apparent. But i still loved the way it played out. Smiles.
Started of with chem tuition which was ok until a certain ACJC Prelim question had to leave me looking like a noob. What on earth is a relative concentration cell. ACJC ppl already so rich wanna use all this kind of weird weird cells meh... Anyway, at least i still can remember my chem quite well. Txs God!
Then I MRTed back to Bedok, had Macs for lunch, which was my last significant meal of the day and then bought my stamps, envelopes and some chocolates. Hehe. Then headed home. Bumped into Ying Xiu outside TJ too (=
Took a quick shower and was abt to leave when i checked my phone and i forgot to email Ms N some stuff. So sorry Rachael. That's why i was late for abt 15 mins for music prac. Oh, ryte. Then it was music prac. YAYNESSES!! I was finally able to play bass for YA!
The music prac was really nice, cuz the music sort of came together, it was not too clashy or anything, jz that the style wasn't ryte. And we took like close to two hours on Jesus I Surrender. Come to think of it,i also dunno why. Haha! But the practise was nice. Yay.
Then soon it was time for YM so we had to leave and went to 2-02 to continue our little discussions on the technicalities like who plays what at when and how. Shall make this very quick since Windows crashed on me jz now.
Pre-service prayer was great with Melvin sharing on what do we really want to pray for. Service was also good with One Way being the praise song. Sorry i didn't get the bridge rhythm ryte. Txs to Alvin for showing me the power chords fingering when i turned back although he was like halfway doing a solo.
Then Ps Mark taught us the Tenets of Faith of the Assemblies of God Churches. Funny joke-dogs won't be in heaven. Really?? Read Revelation 22v15. Haha.
Then had news that BS was in NUH. Rushed down with EIGHT Kit Kat Chunky White for him and talked a while before cabbing back home. Walked a lot. Siglap Center to Sennett.
Palm Sunday
Day started off early as i was the runner boy for the SPKC to give them the mikes and the signal. The announcement that was really good was the Royal Rangers one where Isaac was dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow and stole quite a few stuff before making off with the Royal Rangers flag was so funny and nicely done!
Ps Jonathan's msg was really GOOD!! Abt the crowds who shouted "Hossana in the highest. Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the LORD" and by the end of the week, it became CRUCIFY HIM!
Search our hearts. Are we really like that when God "fails" us? We praise Him when things are good, but when things are bad, we "crucify him" in our hearts.

# The Freedom We Know
Weekends are like battery chargers. They charge batteries! Duh... haha. Yeah, and of course the batteries im referring to are our lives. Yup, but more accurately, its not really weekends but church (cuz YA and Sunday service are obviously on weekends) that recharges my life! Its jz so great to have this "mini-revival" in my soul everytime i step into YA and Sunday is jz like the icing on the cake! So here we go
Saturday
Woke up on time and got ready for tuition. By almost 9am, i was ready to leave the house when Vincent smsed me that he had competition. I was, like, all the best for ur competition. I surprised myself that I wasn't pissed that i woke up early for nothing and jz wanted him to do his best for his comp. Yup. That was significant yet i didn't know it till much later in the day.
Basically used the morning to blog and tried to do QT. Jz read the book and didn't really work out. The rest of the time was jz wasted... Walked towards the 14 bus stop to go to Beer Garden for lunch. Then as I reached Upper East Coast Road i realised i am now staying nearer to TJ and opposite TJ is so much nearer... So I walked back the other way. Haha, so stupid of me...
Had Jap food for lunch and cincau/soya beans. Came back and wasted my afternoon until i had to do laundry. By hand! I washed like 8 t-shirts and many other articles of clothing by hand since the washing machine is spoilt... And it took me close to 2 hours to do it all. Was tired but realised it was time for YA already so took a quick shower and headed to church for the best part of any week! YA Service!!
Reached church roughly about 6.15 and was in time for pre-service prayer although i thought i was late cuz the musicians were alredy praying. But there was a whole bunch of other ppl there waiting so i was in time. The board was ready with the prayer items and today was a significant day as many new ppl were coming. Nelsie was one of the 10 targets for YA who was coming!
Joel lead pre-service prayer for the first time, sort of like how i did it 3 weeks ago. And it was a really good sharing on perseverance. Shared from the story of Pentecost where only 120 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the upper room when there were originally 500. So we in the "engine room" were like the 120 who have stayed on and we prayed till roughly 7. We also had some sharing by Maddy and we were all ready to get the newcomers feel welcomed.
YM service stretched so we entered first and soon we were setting up the place. Then i met Dickson after a "detour" by Chellie. Haha. Significant nonetheless. Dickson's from MJ. JC with best uniform! And he's from Triton too! So Yi Ning, do u know him? I asked and he doens't know u or the rest from o6 that went there. Oh well, he plans to join canoeing. There were two other girls from MJ but i didn't catch their names.
Other than the fact tehre were many new ppl, James came for the first time (in a long time i think) for YA! And Jeremy came too! Yay. So my cell had a grand total of... 4 people. Sighs. But nevermind, we'll keep on trying to get the rest in. No idea why BS wasn't ard, MY was not well, Su-E and Grace the usual MIA, Matthew, coming soon! Really! and Gabriel at Batam.. looking for a wife according to Bertrand. But actually he's on mission trip there. Yupz.
Service was good with Mich worship leading and the songs were Evermore, Jesus I Surrender and To The Ends of the Earth. Yup. And this was really impactful cuz i felt God speaking to me abt what happened at the start of the day. When Vincent sms-ed me that he coulnd't make it for tuition, it taught me how the Father Heart of God is like.
God is so overflowing with love and when we do something wrong and come back to Him, He so readily forgives us. Loves covers such a multitude of sin that its jz so wrong for us not to come back to Him who is so ready and waiting with open arms to accept us. Especially meaingful to me on how God doesn't "take time to get over our sins" but forgives AND forgets the moment we ask in repentance!! =D!!
And then it was offering and YA fund collection. And then it was sharing by Livia, Aiken and Isaac on the impact that Ignite and Synerg!z conferences had on their lives. And the ever-awesome Pastor Mark shared a concluding msg from abt 15 sermons throughout the whole two day conferences.
Ones that really impacted me were from Ps Matthew Barnett who has this really awesomely amazing Dream Center in LA and hence my nickname - Catching Dreams (check out their purpose and history). Seriously, what are we living for every single day. Do we have a bigger purpose than jz finishing school or eating enough to survive? Do we just, honestly, go through the motions of school and work and waiting for uni or NS. Or are we a people of purpose and a destiny. Such that, in retrospect, 2007 would have been a fulfilling year, one full of growth and dreams fulfilled. For the larger dreams, first steps taken?
And also from Ps Glen, Don't let the frogs stay for one more night. Like.... what??? Okay okay, its abt the ten plagues in Egypt when Pharaoh didn't wanna let the Israelites go, God sent a plague of frogs to punish the Egyptians. And when Moses spoke to Pharaoh to negotiate, Pharaoh agreed to let the Israelites go. So Moses gave Pharaoh the honor of choosing when the frogs were to be removed and Pharaoh answered... Tomorrow
I mean, how stupid is he?? Imagine ur room right now crawling with cockroaches and the exterminator is at your door and he asks you when u want to get rid of the pests and u think about it for a while.. and you tell him, come back tomorrow morning and you land back on ur bed with cockroaches crawling all over you.
Seems ridiculous that anyone would answer tomorrow right? But how often do we do the exact same thing to God who wants to remove all the stains, dirt and sin in our lives. How often we keep bad habits for one more night. This was so significant for me and it is decided that 24th March will be a turning point in my life! I believe in the altar call and the work has been done!
Yup, really really feel refreshed after the service! Time to dream big once again! Im free to accomplish what God has in store for me! And to make things even better, dinner for that night was on the house! Wow.. how rare is that! Free Pizza and Drinks! Yay! So i ate quite a lot and still there were 2 leftover pizzas. No idea what happened to it. Talked a lot and 12-ed back with Winnie.
MSN-ed as well with a few ppl. BS was online too. Had a nice chat with cass too (= then slept
Sunday
Did NOT wake up on time. Crap. Actually i did, jz that my alarm didn't ring after i snoozed it. No excuse, i was late for church. I got out of bed at 10.45 and reached church by 11.00
I ran more than half the way there... From Sennett to Emmanuel within 15 minutes of waking up. Was sweating quite a bit and so sad that i reached at the end of the praise and worship which must have been awesome.
Briefly sat at the empty row behind FX and then moved to my cell when the announcements were starting. And today it was 4 baby dedications as well. Too bad they were all girls, even the one in blue, and so BS was wrong. Haha. Mathematical Induction failed. Hehe
Ps Ang gave a simple yet strong message on The Cost of Being a Disciple. Things i really learnt from this
-we are not Christians because of our religion, but by our actions, as seen by outsiders. Are you a Christ-ian?
-it really costs something. not $ but our entire life. our priorities. is family more important than Him? is studies? is that special someone?
-it is a call to being doers of the word, WITH A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him. even if we cast out demons in His name and not have a walk with him, we will not get into heaven.
But the underlying truth is still simple and encouraging. God is ever willing to empower you to achieve your full potential in him. He has the plan and purpose for our life, so committing it to Him, although it may seem to cost us a lot, actually gains is so much more. A really nice quote to sum it up
"He is not unwise who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose"
Think about it. Is IT really worth hanging on to or can God give u something so much better?
Then after the service, had an altar call and i was brought back to think how i haven't been significant at all for Him so far. And its time to change. And that I have really awesome people in church who care so much for me. Who really bother to try and find out how im relaly feeling on the inside and how my life is coming along. Had a good cell time with stand-in cell leader Sarah. Then had great prayer for our cell as well as Matthew who is gonna tell Dr Lee that he won't be a flutist for TPJCSB.
Then we walked to opposite TJ for lunch cuz we missed the bus and joined the newcomers although we were really late. Wwalked here and there quite a lot before settling on where to buy our "groceries" (read:chocolates and snacks) Txs to FX for the Milo Bar and MY for the Doaraemon magnet from 7E! One of it is now on Roland's car! Hehe!
Then had a Bible "picnic" in the haven with our snacks. Matthew, FX and MY with me sat in there and discussed the sermon of the day and the costs that we all pay as well as catch up on each other. In no time it was time to leave and FX took the bus with MY whil Matthew and I walked back. Met Alvin and Mich and talked a lot more. Really encouraging people who care so much! This is where Roalnd's car had the newest addition. Haha!
