Hi blog. I am busy. Hence I have kind of ignored you. Today, lecture at 6pm. Ends at 9pm. I feel like bringing my laptop there. Ok i shall.
Im going to get married to my Fujitsu Lifebook S6410 soon. This coming Monday willl be the wedding ceremony. Officially we will be married when my first tutorial starts.
So what am I doing now? Resting in my room before my GEM 2901 class starts in LT32 in Science Fac. Gonna have to leave at abt 5.15 to get there on time. Disgusting ryte? Im on campus and still have to leave 45 mins early. Saded.
Life has been quite nice off campus, but today, I shall make it a nice one. Txs Beverly for the convo yesterday (= or today rather. Hehe.
Shout out to Yumei, Pras, Sek, Kari, Joanne and Stephanie. Miss you guys. Makes TJ seem so far away when I met u guys, cuz haven seen u guys in three eternities already lar.. treasure ur JC life, cuz it doesn't get much easier in Uni. That's local uni if you're wondering. Go overseas! Pls do! Dun make me see u in orientation when im in Year 3. If i do see u also, be in the camps k?
Ok, back to NUS life. Met Amanda today who graciously lent me her CashCard cuz Vanessa's had not enough credit to print my notes. Ate at the fabled Arts Canteen. Ok only lar the western food there. Still haven't found the best which is apparently at Business. Which makes sense. Business, west, seems to click quite well. While Engin, food? Hmm.. the only thing we know abt cooking is how many Joules of energy the stove will provide and to find the best material to cook the food in. Oh, we would claim to design it too, but i think SDE takes credit for that. So I guess engin canteen will not be able to boast much for now other than our Indonesian Panggang. Which I have yet to try. I will. I have four years... How will I not...
Ok, time's up Blog. I've gotta sleep and bathe before lecture. Trying to figure out how to squeeze in DINNER when lecture's from 6 to 9. Oh well, good to be back in PGP, although im not too excited.

Tuesday
Today was pretty interesting. Woke up after a crazy chat session with the three in one, actually jz two, but yeah, it was crazy. Was chatting with a few other ppl too and eventually gave up because 2am (apart from being a track from Altered Frequency's album) sounded more like "you're asleep" and "you're not supposed to be making sense... what?.. precisely" so i slept. And woke up this morning at around 9 plus 10. Slacked around, surfed blogs and what not, yeah, actually what what not ar?
Who cares, i got myself out of bed (which takes a lot of effort when u haven't been working or 2 weeks plus...) and went for lunch. I think i stopped by TJ first to get my shoebag, talked with the fewex-councillors in the room and then went opposite. Got a rather ok lunch, and then as i was abt to leave for Beach Rd, Jaren's sms came.
Then went over to under LT 2,helped distracted sek's/pras's PW group with their soapy slippery GPP and then finally started to make our way to lunch. Why was I at lunch again? Don't know. Where were we going to eat? Don't know. We had many funny suggestions.

But we settled on Pizza Hut cuz of their tempting student offer. But Jeryl still wanted his porridge. So he went and bought and brought it into the Hut.
Then we had many funny conversations and almost persuaded Diantahhhhhh not to buy lasagne and the person who took our order had some math problems. When the food came, Jaren's balls didn't seem to appear. But they ate anyway. Had a little surprise with Adele and Valarie coming to the Hut as well, but they were doing PW there... so sad... And then Shi Yun came and i told her they were inside before she could call them (on the phone lar). Then Chinese Drama Girl (CDG) also came. Sorry I dun know ur name. Sek thinks CDG is from AHS. But then again, everyone is from AHS lar in TJ. But u wouldn't recognise them from their EZLINK CARDS!! It was so funny when Yumei started laughing at the pics at the counter. Even the staff were so unprofessional and laughed with her. Jaren was "stretched", Diantha looked like nurse. After the meal, went off... haha, Yumei, u cannot read from this point on ok?

We went to City Hall first cuz i wanted to get my ticket from nearby Beach Road. Diantahhhhh wanted doughnuts but the queue was insane, so we got nothing from there. Haha. So we decided to head on to Orchard to get more stuff with Jeryl Kari to join us there. When we were there, they were at Eunos. So, you guessed it, we moved on! Haha, but really, all the best to Kari and Jeryl for Band EXCO!
Stopped for Ah Pek Ice Cream, which Diantahhhhh and i got hte same while Joannie got some green thingy. But pro of the day goes to Joannie who ate it the tidiest. I get the the fastest eater award as usual, and wanted more.
Okay, now when we finally reached our destination, Kinokuniya was having a stock check. For ONLY today. It had to be JUST today.

Oh well, we headed off to level 3 and shopped ard. Ok, we started by sitting down while getting Diantahhhhh's Rubik's then we got Yumei her stuff. And had loads of fun looking ard all the weird stuff. Realised i haven't played board games or Uno in a long time. Oh, when Jeryl Kari arrived, I could only see Jeryl. Heee!
After we bought e stuff, got it wrapped, we went down to Happy House, or so i thought. There was this rather embarrasing moment but since this is my blog, i shall not suan myself. Haha! If u know about it, u can blog abt it.
Left for tuition, came home, and blogged.
Ok, some observations today.

# Temasek Idol
Thursday, part II
Yup, after blogging, I did go for class and met 03/07. Funny thing was Mr Tong was in the classroom before that. memories of being a GP rep. Haha. Aand the outdated diskette. Thumbdrives are the way to go man (= So I entered the classroom and there were jz two people. Out of thirteen, i thought that wasn't too bad excpet that eventually the class started like 15 minutes late. Xuewen and Selina were hopelessly lost. Oh well, others were lost too.
But lesson was great and fun. And best part is.... I WON the Current Affairs Quiz. Haha. With a close margin of 5 to 4, but the guys and girls tied each other. So Im the big winner. Haha. Yeah, whatever ryte? Was nice getting to know the class. Will have to read more of the papers though, bet Im gonna forget 90% of their names when i enter on monday.
Then it was off to the scroom to see what was going on. It was manual labour once again with the packing of TI Goodie bags. Steffi Bond and her agency have been redeployed from top secret agents, to Kacang Putih sellers. Haha!
Ok I have a major GROUSE *winks to 21* here. Why do Singaporeans call tid bits "KacHang PutEh"??? Well, it's pretty obvious ain't it? Firstly they don't know that kacang (which is THE correct spelling btw) means nuts, and not random stuff u get from a snack shop. And putih means white. So kacang putih refers to a PARTICULAR type of nut which is white after roasted. Aarrrgghhh!! The uneducatedness of Singaporeans continues to amaze me. But then again, if everyone's wrong, it doesn't matter does it?
Yup, then left for tuition in church with Nelson and AMaths Differentiation. Met Bertrand first though who was doing Sem 2 Matrices of Engineering. Haha, feel so dumb that i forgot how to find determinant liao. So sad. Oh well, eventually Nelson came and we started and eventually finished. Like.. duh. Haha. That wrapped up church and it was back to TJ
The sc were almost done and then packed up and went for dinner. Then walked home with some (which means more than 1) councillors. Surfed a bit online, got frustrated cuz my net here is so slow. Couldn't watch the stupid japanese dance video on youtube and Shing Yee is becoming more evil! *crashes stone on head* Apparently Joanne is too... Hmmm... scary people hiding in innocent looking faces =S
Friday
This was DDAY. Both for me and my beloved junior Ying Xiu. It was FireFly interview for me and final project, Temasek Idol for YX. Day started off bad.
Had to rush my certs and all, and eventually forgot one cert. Ah, nvm that, got most of it in order and left it at the GO for certifying and went for lessons, saying i would ocllect it at 9.30. But little did i know 9.30 was lesson time. Darn.
Had the crossword with 21. They seemed to be rather stuck at first with most guessing brands as 1 across but its NOT the correct answer *hints to next classes* But slowly they did get better. Some of them even got the lame ones like "she keeps quiet" *pokes shuming* haha. The clues didn't really help I guess, i dunno, comment anyone?
Then it was my first time with the new 06. I forgot where the lesson was supposed to be so I walked back to the staffroom, only to find out it was in the same class... So lame... So i walked back with my laptop and all and set it all up again. 06 was even later... Baa... lessons cant end on time.. never...
Did the same thing although it was hard to remember whos who still. Except a few who stood out but I think I'd forget all other than the GP rep Abishik. But it was fun and guess what, I did the current affairs quiz again. Nosurprise ryte.. Haha, the Team White lost to Team Green and it was good fun, i think. But they were also randomly shooting. People, please please start reading the papers!!
Okay, play time was over. Haha, play time, why did i use that phrase anyway? Lolz.. And it was soon rushing off to EDB. Took my certs from the GO and Mdm Aini was so nice. She saw I was rushing and sweating so she offered some perfume. MEN's perfume if you're wondering! -.-''
I knid of liked the smell too! Haha. A cab took almost forever to come but i still made it ot EDB before the 15 minute buffer time they asked for. Took the lift up to the 28 floor and my ears were already feeling the pressure. Met some other ppl who were there as well. Majority from RJ. Majority for GEP. Me? Only foreigner... Sighs. But it was cool. Jeline i think from RJ was the quite friendly bimbo. Yup, i think she knows shes quite bimbotic. Quote of the day was from her friend. "Jeline, stop being bimbotic, this is an interview for INTELLECTUAL people" Haha! We were all laughing in the quiet and pristine lobby of EDB.
EDB ppl were so not punctual lar! Wwhen it was 11.40, I found out that the 11.15 group hadn't even gone in yet (they do in 30 minute blocks). Then we knew we were in for a long wait. Initially the silence was so thick we were like in different rooms already. But after a while, we loosened up and started talking. Quite interesting ppl. Jeline guessed Mark's name cuz he "looked like a Mark" Yeah ryte, pure luck i think. They were from the same primary school and knew each other and even their friends. Mark-HC, Jeline-RJ, Me-only TJ.
There was this other girl who came later and she has a younger sister in TA1. If anyone knows who she is, gimme a tag? This girl was from RJ. And it was so funny cuz Jeline asked if she was from HC when they both were from RJ. We obviously bot bored and started making up lame stories like how the waiting time was actually the interview and there were hidden cameras to see what we were doing or the windows were actually one of those one-way screens and they were actually watching us. Mark even waved to the window. Haha.
Then came the stupid part. Mark asked us if we wanted to try the EDB Mint that they had. He said he tried it and it tasted like Mentos. But I said, it's our turn any moment and what if we get called in with the mint in our mouths. Jeline even crunched the Strepsils in her mouth before she entered the Lobby on 28 lar... So he said jz swallow lar. Sounds logical ryte?
NOT!!!! I stupidly took the mint and, yes it did taste like mentos. But after 30 seconds (I had already waited 30 minutes) of taking the mint, they called my name!! I was like.. crapz..
So I did swallow the mentos and my throat was burning for the whole interview lar... So stupid.
The interview was normal. The usual why did u choose FireFly and tell me abt some problems you encountered and how u handled them. So i spammed my council stories like mad.
Then came the part where we were joking about outside. The Singapore 6.5 million target. Mdm Lisa (my interviewer) asked what do i think the potential problems are when SG hits 6.5 million and i rambled on abt job competition and congestion and bla bla bla.. I was apparently (or obviously even) off topic cuz she had to ask again. "What are the MAJOR problems u would see, from EDB's economic perspective". So i restructured my answer and yeah, went on to more friendly questions after that. She even said i had better be good at the current affairs cuz I was a GP tutor. Darns. So biased lar!
And while the Mint was still burning, the interview came to the last parts abt do you have any questions abt the scholarship. Did the usual where would i work kind of thing, asked abt the shuffling, if they provided training and all. Yeah, and it ended quite nicely. Even the fact that i did go for EDB's Next Big Thing last time helped as she recalled some TJCians. Told her abt Zhongshan and Sean who were there as well. Yup
After I came out, Mark came out as well. The blur pork brought along only ORIGINAL copies of his certs lar... So he had to zap them at EDB. But then again it was quite wise cuz he could zap it for free there. And the zap machine at EDB so chim one. Touch screen, green light, auto detect paper size... Jeline and I had more fun playing ard with it than anything. Was quite funny with how one cert came out with the top part missing. My fault. Haha!
Then we waited with Jeline who was waiting for her friend. Talked more and then we made our way down after girl-from-RJ-with-sister-in-TA1 came out and then we parted, hoping we would meet again.
Then MRT-ed back to Bedok and met Grace. W/Talked back to TJ with her and met Julie and Zhiyuan on the way. They were meeting Yi Ning and hadn't eaten so I walked backed to the interchange and ate with them. Saw Yi Ning at the double pedestrian crossing and she didn't dissapoint, being slow as always =p But i think she realised we were laughing at how slow she was walking and started running. haha
She was in the nicest uniform in SG, the Meridian uniform. Jx realised i dunno if its spelled meridien or meridian. Oh well. Its the nicest blue ard! Yup yup. So we talked a lot and decided on BK cuz Macs was full. Yi Ning led the way and we did find it. Ordered and ate my first BK meal in a long time and soon it was time for Julie's PDP so we had to walk back

Talked even more and Julie soon had to go for PDP. Met Dianthaaaaa under the stage who was with Pui Yee (though i forgot her name twice) She introduced me to a fun (and sadistic) game. Happy Tree Friends. And after a lot of trying, I eventually beat Jeryl's highscore. Haha. 15410 I think was my record. Lolz. Im sorry Jeryl, jz lucky i guess. Brought Dianthaaaaa to see the rehearsal of TI for a few seconds before she had to run off to her LEO GM
Now the day shifted to Temasek Idol. It was only 3 something and the room was already all set up and ready with lights and posters all in place with the laptops and everything. I helped with some of the setting up like taping wires and running ard with bits and pieces of information. It was dragging once again and i left jz before the final soundcheck. Got Julie's ticket and coulnd't hear Yi Ning on the phone. So sorry, she had to msg me. Haha. Then met JoJo and went for dinner.
It was late so I rushed a quick chicken rice and met Pearlyn, Zhi Ying and Mei Hui. Took Zhi Zhan's chicken rice back for him too. Haha, Pearlyn still welfaring ppl (=
Reached the audi and the arena was ready for stars to shine.
The atmosphere was just right, except perhaps the ludicrous PSI index in the room, courtesy of Zhi Zhan. From now on, I shall call the smoke machine the IndoFire. Haha. Qquite cool how it was remote controlled though. And before long, I was wandering ard with my students. Met the Temasek MTV people in the upper gallery. Who? Yes, the Temasek MTV, namely Shuming, Yi Ning, Julie and Shi Min. Go figure out why they're Temasek MTV.
Ran back to the control room and soon, the show was underway and I can honestly say the atmosphere was electrifying! The show started of with the theme song of the day I'll Be There For You (popularised by the Friends comedy series) by the Rembrants. The idols walked onto stage with a thunderous applause (with desibles of screams as well). Back in the Panic Room (read AV Control Room), the pressure and stress was on to get everything going right. Adi was the main projectionis, handling the backdrop and videos seamlessly. Soedar did the music with the help of ZZ's iPod for intervals and Claire was the lightings woman.
The atmosphere was tense in the room as votes were coming in even before the idols performed. Judges were straight to the point. Oh, they were Mr Daniel Chung, Ms Kwan and Alvin Tan of J3, Project Superband. After a great round of performances where Gordon peaked and Imran sank while Xiang Yun outclassed everyone, it was time for the groups
SPZ started things off but sadly, were quite off themselves, getting some negative comments. Same for Sarah and Zhi Wei and even Kita. Quaver were the obvious best although they weren't at their best. Sounds smooth ryte? Nope.
In the Panic Room, the walkies talkies were going almost non-stop and Adi was furiously swapping cables with Soedar for each video. And then swapped back for the voting procedures. For me, i voted
VOTE IDOL S4 S4 S4 S4 S4 S4 twice and
VOTE IDOL G4 G4 G4 G4 G4 G4 countless times. Hahaha!! In case u're wondering, thats for Xiang Yun and Quaver. But sadly, Xiangyun still got the least votes, but shes only TA1, so she has a bright future! Quaver got in and soon, it was time for the break. PSI went up to the max as even the outside was smoky.
Guest performances were really the best, with Alvin Tan and Chuang May being obvious winners for solo and group if they had participated. I need a HERO. ahha
Then things were tense as Arthi and Gordon made it through and Quaver and Kitaa were the finalists for the group. The American Idol Theme music really sounded nice as the results were announced!!!!
Then it was the solo category which i couldn't be bothered with anymore cuz Xiang Yun was out. But in the band category, Kita vastly improved but were no match for Quaver's killer song, My Immortal. The lightings were perfect and i think Yee Chiun took my advise on wearing red-black. The atmosphere was really there!! The Panic Room was now over. And it was clean up. It was fast and smooth. Had "kachang puteh" from the sc. A thank you talk by my junior and Ms Fong and then we cleared out.

Yup, after blogging, I did go for class and met 03/07. Funny thing was Mr Tong was in the classroom before that. memories of being a GP rep. Haha. Aand the outdated diskette. Thumbdrives are the way to go man (= So I entered the classroom and there were jz two people. Out of thirteen, i thought that wasn't too bad excpet that eventually the class started like 15 minutes late. Xuewen and Selina were hopelessly lost. Oh well, others were lost too.
But lesson was great and fun. And best part is.... I WON the Current Affairs Quiz. Haha. With a close margin of 5 to 4, but the guys and girls tied each other. So Im the big winner. Haha. Yeah, whatever ryte? Was nice getting to know the class. Will have to read more of the papers though, bet Im gonna forget 90% of their names when i enter on monday.
Then it was off to the scroom to see what was going on. It was manual labour once again with the packing of TI Goodie bags. Steffi Bond and her agency have been redeployed from top secret agents, to Kacang Putih sellers. Haha!
Ok I have a major GROUSE *winks to 21* here. Why do Singaporeans call tid bits "KacHang PutEh"??? Well, it's pretty obvious ain't it? Firstly they don't know that kacang (which is THE correct spelling btw) means nuts, and not random stuff u get from a snack shop. And putih means white. So kacang putih refers to a PARTICULAR type of nut which is white after roasted. Aarrrgghhh!! The uneducatedness of Singaporeans continues to amaze me. But then again, if everyone's wrong, it doesn't matter does it?
Yup, then left for tuition in church with Nelson and AMaths Differentiation. Met Bertrand first though who was doing Sem 2 Matrices of Engineering. Haha, feel so dumb that i forgot how to find determinant liao. So sad. Oh well, eventually Nelson came and we started and eventually finished. Like.. duh. Haha. That wrapped up church and it was back to TJ
The sc were almost done and then packed up and went for dinner. Then walked home with some (which means more than 1) councillors. Surfed a bit online, got frustrated cuz my net here is so slow. Couldn't watch the stupid japanese dance video on youtube and Shing Yee is becoming more evil! *crashes stone on head* Apparently Joanne is too... Hmmm... scary people hiding in innocent looking faces =S
Friday
This was DDAY. Both for me and my beloved junior Ying Xiu. It was FireFly interview for me and final project, Temasek Idol for YX. Day started off bad.
Had to rush my certs and all, and eventually forgot one cert. Ah, nvm that, got most of it in order and left it at the GO for certifying and went for lessons, saying i would ocllect it at 9.30. But little did i know 9.30 was lesson time. Darn.
Had the crossword with 21. They seemed to be rather stuck at first with most guessing brands as 1 across but its NOT the correct answer *hints to next classes* But slowly they did get better. Some of them even got the lame ones like "she keeps quiet" *pokes shuming* haha. The clues didn't really help I guess, i dunno, comment anyone?
Then it was my first time with the new 06. I forgot where the lesson was supposed to be so I walked back to the staffroom, only to find out it was in the same class... So lame... So i walked back with my laptop and all and set it all up again. 06 was even later... Baa... lessons cant end on time.. never...
Did the same thing although it was hard to remember whos who still. Except a few who stood out but I think I'd forget all other than the GP rep Abishik. But it was fun and guess what, I did the current affairs quiz again. Nosurprise ryte.. Haha, the Team White lost to Team Green and it was good fun, i think. But they were also randomly shooting. People, please please start reading the papers!!
Okay, play time was over. Haha, play time, why did i use that phrase anyway? Lolz.. And it was soon rushing off to EDB. Took my certs from the GO and Mdm Aini was so nice. She saw I was rushing and sweating so she offered some perfume. MEN's perfume if you're wondering! -.-''
I knid of liked the smell too! Haha. A cab took almost forever to come but i still made it ot EDB before the 15 minute buffer time they asked for. Took the lift up to the 28 floor and my ears were already feeling the pressure. Met some other ppl who were there as well. Majority from RJ. Majority for GEP. Me? Only foreigner... Sighs. But it was cool. Jeline i think from RJ was the quite friendly bimbo. Yup, i think she knows shes quite bimbotic. Quote of the day was from her friend. "Jeline, stop being bimbotic, this is an interview for INTELLECTUAL people" Haha! We were all laughing in the quiet and pristine lobby of EDB.
EDB ppl were so not punctual lar! Wwhen it was 11.40, I found out that the 11.15 group hadn't even gone in yet (they do in 30 minute blocks). Then we knew we were in for a long wait. Initially the silence was so thick we were like in different rooms already. But after a while, we loosened up and started talking. Quite interesting ppl. Jeline guessed Mark's name cuz he "looked like a Mark" Yeah ryte, pure luck i think. They were from the same primary school and knew each other and even their friends. Mark-HC, Jeline-RJ, Me-only TJ.
There was this other girl who came later and she has a younger sister in TA1. If anyone knows who she is, gimme a tag? This girl was from RJ. And it was so funny cuz Jeline asked if she was from HC when they both were from RJ. We obviously bot bored and started making up lame stories like how the waiting time was actually the interview and there were hidden cameras to see what we were doing or the windows were actually one of those one-way screens and they were actually watching us. Mark even waved to the window. Haha.
Then came the stupid part. Mark asked us if we wanted to try the EDB Mint that they had. He said he tried it and it tasted like Mentos. But I said, it's our turn any moment and what if we get called in with the mint in our mouths. Jeline even crunched the Strepsils in her mouth before she entered the Lobby on 28 lar... So he said jz swallow lar. Sounds logical ryte?
NOT!!!! I stupidly took the mint and, yes it did taste like mentos. But after 30 seconds (I had already waited 30 minutes) of taking the mint, they called my name!! I was like.. crapz..
So I did swallow the mentos and my throat was burning for the whole interview lar... So stupid.
The interview was normal. The usual why did u choose FireFly and tell me abt some problems you encountered and how u handled them. So i spammed my council stories like mad.
Then came the part where we were joking about outside. The Singapore 6.5 million target. Mdm Lisa (my interviewer) asked what do i think the potential problems are when SG hits 6.5 million and i rambled on abt job competition and congestion and bla bla bla.. I was apparently (or obviously even) off topic cuz she had to ask again. "What are the MAJOR problems u would see, from EDB's economic perspective". So i restructured my answer and yeah, went on to more friendly questions after that. She even said i had better be good at the current affairs cuz I was a GP tutor. Darns. So biased lar!
And while the Mint was still burning, the interview came to the last parts abt do you have any questions abt the scholarship. Did the usual where would i work kind of thing, asked abt the shuffling, if they provided training and all. Yeah, and it ended quite nicely. Even the fact that i did go for EDB's Next Big Thing last time helped as she recalled some TJCians. Told her abt Zhongshan and Sean who were there as well. Yup
After I came out, Mark came out as well. The blur pork brought along only ORIGINAL copies of his certs lar... So he had to zap them at EDB. But then again it was quite wise cuz he could zap it for free there. And the zap machine at EDB so chim one. Touch screen, green light, auto detect paper size... Jeline and I had more fun playing ard with it than anything. Was quite funny with how one cert came out with the top part missing. My fault. Haha!
Then we waited with Jeline who was waiting for her friend. Talked more and then we made our way down after girl-from-RJ-with-sister-in-TA1 came out and then we parted, hoping we would meet again.
Then MRT-ed back to Bedok and met Grace. W/Talked back to TJ with her and met Julie and Zhiyuan on the way. They were meeting Yi Ning and hadn't eaten so I walked backed to the interchange and ate with them. Saw Yi Ning at the double pedestrian crossing and she didn't dissapoint, being slow as always =p But i think she realised we were laughing at how slow she was walking and started running. haha
She was in the nicest uniform in SG, the Meridian uniform. Jx realised i dunno if its spelled meridien or meridian. Oh well. Its the nicest blue ard! Yup yup. So we talked a lot and decided on BK cuz Macs was full. Yi Ning led the way and we did find it. Ordered and ate my first BK meal in a long time and soon it was time for Julie's PDP so we had to walk back

Happy Tree Friends. And after a lot of trying, I eventually beat Jeryl's highscore. Haha. 15410 I think was my record. Lolz. Im sorry Jeryl, jz lucky i guess. Brought Dianthaaaaa to see the rehearsal of TI for a few seconds before she had to run off to her LEO GM
Now the day shifted to Temasek Idol. It was only 3 something and the room was already all set up and ready with lights and posters all in place with the laptops and everything. I helped with some of the setting up like taping wires and running ard with bits and pieces of information. It was dragging once again and i left jz before the final soundcheck. Got Julie's ticket and coulnd't hear Yi Ning on the phone. So sorry, she had to msg me. Haha. Then met JoJo and went for dinner.
It was late so I rushed a quick chicken rice and met Pearlyn, Zhi Ying and Mei Hui. Took Zhi Zhan's chicken rice back for him too. Haha, Pearlyn still welfaring ppl (=
Reached the audi and the arena was ready for stars to shine.
The atmosphere was just right, except perhaps the ludicrous PSI index in the room, courtesy of Zhi Zhan. From now on, I shall call the smoke machine the IndoFire. Haha. Qquite cool how it was remote controlled though. And before long, I was wandering ard with my students. Met the Temasek MTV people in the upper gallery. Who? Yes, the Temasek MTV, namely Shuming, Yi Ning, Julie and Shi Min. Go figure out why they're Temasek MTV.
Ran back to the control room and soon, the show was underway and I can honestly say the atmosphere was electrifying! The show started of with the theme song of the day I'll Be There For You (popularised by the Friends comedy series) by the Rembrants. The idols walked onto stage with a thunderous applause (with desibles of screams as well). Back in the Panic Room (read AV Control Room), the pressure and stress was on to get everything going right. Adi was the main projectionis, handling the backdrop and videos seamlessly. Soedar did the music with the help of ZZ's iPod for intervals and Claire was the lightings woman.
The atmosphere was tense in the room as votes were coming in even before the idols performed. Judges were straight to the point. Oh, they were Mr Daniel Chung, Ms Kwan and Alvin Tan of J3, Project Superband. After a great round of performances where Gordon peaked and Imran sank while Xiang Yun outclassed everyone, it was time for the groups
SPZ started things off but sadly, were quite off themselves, getting some negative comments. Same for Sarah and Zhi Wei and even Kita. Quaver were the obvious best although they weren't at their best. Sounds smooth ryte? Nope.
In the Panic Room, the walkies talkies were going almost non-stop and Adi was furiously swapping cables with Soedar for each video. And then swapped back for the voting procedures. For me, i voted
VOTE IDOL S4 S4 S4 S4 S4 S4 twice and
VOTE IDOL G4 G4 G4 G4 G4 G4 countless times. Hahaha!! In case u're wondering, thats for Xiang Yun and Quaver. But sadly, Xiangyun still got the least votes, but shes only TA1, so she has a bright future! Quaver got in and soon, it was time for the break. PSI went up to the max as even the outside was smoky.
Guest performances were really the best, with Alvin Tan and Chuang May being obvious winners for solo and group if they had participated. I need a HERO. ahha
Then things were tense as Arthi and Gordon made it through and Quaver and Kitaa were the finalists for the group. The American Idol Theme music really sounded nice as the results were announced!!!!
Then it was the solo category which i couldn't be bothered with anymore cuz Xiang Yun was out. But in the band category, Kita vastly improved but were no match for Quaver's killer song, My Immortal. The lightings were perfect and i think Yee Chiun took my advise on wearing red-black. The atmosphere was really there!! And at the results, it was obvious that Quaver was the winner and Arthi got the solo category. Err.. dun really care, but QUAVER WON!!! CONGRATS!!!

# The Week That Flew By
Tuesday
Tuesday was glorious. Firstly, it was a day with only ONE lesson. So that's awesome and cool. Even better, I get to crash two PW lessons to watch my classes try to pull a skit together. Exhibitionists jz seem to be rolling along jz fine. But the awesome, cool and glorious part comes after school.
Aunty Kaith is this person Ps Mark (awesome man!!) gave my contact to to (yes, its not a typo JY) be a tutor. And I got a call from her. While I was ironing clothes, but I was smart enough to turn the iron off before my shirts turned into new fashion statements. And we talked. Rather, it was sort of an interview. But the best and most fun one if I ever had one. And yeah, a meeting was set up at Plaza Singapura.
God is jz awesome. Mom wanted me to teach tuition and somehow by faith I guessed she knew God would pull through. And without ANY effort, I got my first student. No agency, no publicity, no strings attached... strings were even given away perhaps cuz im not doing this job for the money cuz the rate im charging, tutors would go broke. But, I thank God for literally providing me with my first student. Hope things turn out fine!
Ironed the rest of my clothes and went to bed rejoicing. :D
Wednesday
My day of double periods. It was not too bad, except GP quiz once again backfired. Note to self : STOP using transparencies for quizes. Gave 21 and 06 their first assignment of the day. However, discussions were interestin as I continued the Next Generation article's discussions. Finally they are talking back. Feels like a graveyard coming alive, minus the ghost n weird "ajaran sesat ppl" who live there. Slowly people coming out of the lifeless shell. Yup, 21 and 06 is coming alive. So much fun now, rather than e telling lame jokes the whole day. And the Evening Show with Mr Wilson has still been spared from its second episode.
Supposed to treat Mervin and Nicole to soya beans for guessing the note of the school bell. Apparently its some other guy who guessed it, not Mervin. Oh well, the cheapo here didn't treat anyone in the end cuz they were not around. Had some talk with other 04 ppl. Life is getting interesting for KI ppl as well.
Had staff conference. Jz one thing to point out, teachers have this scheme where is they work <15>14 years, its 700. How cool is that? Lemme tell you, a handphone is considered a personal productivity device. If the GP Dept gets their way, broadband access at home can fall into that category along with PDAs! If I got my way, I'd get the gun I was talking abt for PCs. Helps shut the council up during meetings when everyone is high or jz plain noisy. Think of it, how many times have u tried to get attention of ppl to give an announcement and failed? Jz with this PPD, all ur problems are solved. Plus, it can be used to threaten lazy ppl to hand in work too!
Yeah, then was GO GREEN DAY flier dist. I got to be with Beverly and Slyvia from 34. Funny, funky and happening people. Cuz we had Mdm Noraini from the G.O. with us who didn't want to walk so we took a cab!! (Waves to Zsa^2 as she screams in protest =) We reached there and thought we had it easy with th e postman being there with all the letterboxes open but he didn't allow us to put, so we went house by house. Then I ran out of fliers. Then I realised my big mistake. Should have jz spammed the mailboxes after he left cuz there was this small slit. Where did my two years of LEO ONC go and hide?? Oh well..
It got more fun as the video/promo crew arrived. Beverly and Sylvia were sabo-ed by their CT, Mrs Noordin to be a part of the video promo. Filming it was so hillarious as it was so kayu at first, ppl not getting the angles right, Beverly being a bimbo, and many other funny scenes which you could jz guess. And then Mdm Aini wanted to leave so I went with her on th eway out and she bought goreng pisang for us, which were like GM Bananas. They were huge!! And all the bimbos ate one, including me. Yes, I admit the bimboness for letting the crumbs spill all over..
I was a little late for my meeting with Aunty Kaith so i hurried to Bedok Interchange, MRT-ed to PS and met her at Yamaha. Met Vincent too, talked things over, got free dinner from Aunty Kaith whom I met for the first time who is not even in hte same church as me. So sweet! Gave me this awesome book to read even. Im in chapter 1 part 2 i think. Yup, then headed back home and slept.
Thursday
My only one period at 3pm day. Had a very tough time marking the assignments. Cuz of all the 1/2 and 1 marks to decide on. Mostly failed but there were a few passes. So far two out of three GP reps passed i think, or all passed. Quite a good start, but wanna give a huge, enormous round of applause to Joanne of CG 06/07 for scoring FULL MARKS!!!! I was blown away.... like..
All the way to the chem dept blown away... And got some stickers from Jocelyn. See, Most Caring RT Award truly belongs to her. I wanted to give one, but JOcelyn insisted on two. But Joanne, u totally deserved it! Totally totally cool. Yeah. *hops around*
Hops to LT4 for SCIP elections. I lose a "bet" (which was on nothing) that the SCIP elections would start at 4.50 but he won when it started at 5.15 due to delays. It started about 3/4 of an eternity after its actual starting time of 4.30. Quote of the day to Evelyn from me, "You need a gag". Yeah, Evelyn and I go wayyyyy back. As far back as Mei Hui in JB. Hahaha, jz literally far lar, not figuratively. Anyway, glad u got the sex-cretary post u wanted although Ms N was so scary. Happy that the ppl I liked got the posts. My grand junior, Michael from SJI. All the way!! Perhaps we shall meet again Evelyn, if u dun run back to JB as often as Mei Hui!
Then went to meet Benjamin Ong whos on work training by HP in Singapore. Very nice to have the chance, but then again, being the blur Malaysian I am, I took the wrong exit at Orchard MRT and took almost half an hour to reach Lucky Plaza. Sorry Ben. Met his friends. Not too nice people on their personality so ask Ben abt them ya? Ben treated me MOS burger!! Yaynesses!! Second dinner treat in two days. Kind of a nice reward for doing QT every morning. Txs God! Got my socks and a nice talk with Ben. Had a mini econs lesson too about Malaysia's emerging economy.
Went back on a 16. Stopped at VJ instead of VS. Walked all the way home... Sad, but still rejoicing on the inside. God is truly good! Hope God grants miracles to 06 for their skit too. Patchy, but falling into place.
Friday
One word : BUSY. First four periods were lessons. 06 exhibition ppl were so bored. Sorry Yumei, Sek Hui and Dao En. 21 ppl, well, skit falling in place. I really thank God for Zsa^2 who is pulling it together and everyone who listens to her. Also to those who did the blogs, awesome stuff.
Next was some quick marking then Dao Kang came for lunch. I was late. Sorry ya DK. Ate my "dinner" meal. Then DK crashed TJ for a bit. Then I had to quickly finish my marking, Completed all and tabled all the results. Passes here and there, but hope to see greater things!
Went to meet Jean at City Hall. Walked the bottom of Raffles City. With weird shops selling extremely ex stuff. Walked to and through all six floors of Funan till we almost died.. And founf, in Jean's favourite adjective, fugly stuff. We established criteria no. 1 for all laptop bags/cases, it must have handles. If not, reject it no matter how cool it looked. So with this rule, we looked through many fugly bags and finally gave up cuz they were too ex anyway. Waited for 20mins for 14. It came and we "epitomised the idiom 'packed as sardines' " according to Jean. Yup. was a tiring ride. Taught Jean to bluetooth messages but she had more fun sleeping on the way back
Reached the stop and waited for 12. Thank God I didn;t miss it cuz the non-double decker one came. I raced to the hawker center, ordered my "dinner" raced once again to TJ. Reached Audi at 7.30 when i was supposed to be there at 7.00. Great. I opened the door and expected at most 50 parents, but there was like slightly less than a 2nd O crowd! It was scary. I did shiver and was scared but God must have calmed me down when I finally started my speech at 8.20, a quarter of an eternity away from the actual time of 7.40. Gave my speech, but ALL credit goes to God who must have helped me so much. Cuz Ms Ying didn't think anything spectacular of it, netiher did Ms Faye Tan who vetted it a second time nor Mrs Lim who saw it for clarification, but it went on very well and I've been invited to speak to the Year 1 and 2 cohorts to spur them on!
Talked to some parents then rushed off to church. Rachael was having her powerfully wonderful sessions today. Although it looked like P1 art class with all the drawings, it was a meaningful reflection on our past, present, and (this is the best) our hoped for future and our most feared future. Cuz we had Mdm Noraini from the G.O. with us who didn't want to walk so we took a cab!! (Waves to Zsa^2 as she screams in protest =) We reached there and thought we had it easy with th e postman being there with all the letterboxes open but he didn't allow us to put, so we went house by house. Then I ran out of fliers. Then I realised my big mistake. Should have jz spammed the mailboxes after he left cuz there was this small slit. Where did my two years of LEO ONC go and hide?? Oh well..
It got more fun as the video/promo crew arrived. Beverly and Sylvia were sabo-ed by their CT, Mrs Noordin to be a part of the video promo. Filming it was so hillarious as it was so kayu at first, ppl not getting the angles right, Beverly being a bimbo, and many other funny scenes which you could jz guess. And then Mdm Aini wanted to leave so I went with her on th eway out and she bought goreng pisang for us, which were like GM Bananas. They were huge!! And all the bimbos ate one, including me. Yes, I admit the bimboness for letting the crumbs spill all over..
I was a little late for my meeting with Aunty Kaith so i hurried to Bedok Interchange, MRT-ed to PS and met her at Yamaha. Met Vincent too, talked things over, got free dinner from Aunty Kaith whom I met for the first time who is not even in hte same church as me. So sweet! Gave me this awesome book to read even. Im in chapter 1 part 2 i think. Yup, then headed back home and slept.
Thursday
My only one period at 3pm day. Had a very tough time marking the assignments. Cuz of all the 1/2 and 1 marks to decide on. Mostly failed but there were a few passes. So far two out of three GP reps passed i think, or all passed. Quite a good start, but wanna give a huge, enormous round of applause to Joanne of CG 06/07 for scoring FULL MARKS!!!! I was blown away.... like..
All the way to the chem dept blown away... And got some stickers from Jocelyn. See, Most Caring RT Award truly belongs to her. I wanted to give one, but JOcelyn insisted on two. But Joanne, u totally deserved it! Totally totally cool. Yeah. *hops around*
Hops to LT4 for SCIP elections. I lose a "bet" (which was on nothing) that the SCIP elections would start at 4.50 but he won when it started at 5.15 due to delays. It started about 3/4 of an eternity after its actual starting time of 4.30. Quote of the day to Evelyn from me, "You need a gag". Yeah, Evelyn and I go wayyyyy back. As far back as Mei Hui in JB. Hahaha, jz literally far lar, not figuratively. Anyway, glad u got the sex-cretary post u wanted although Ms N was so scary. Happy that the ppl I liked got the posts. My grand junior, Michael from SJI. All the way!! Perhaps we shall meet again Evelyn, if u dun run back to JB as often as Mei Hui!
Then went to meet Benjamin Ong whos on work training by HP in Singapore. Very nice to have the chance, but then again, being the blur Malaysian I am, I took the wrong exit at Orchard MRT and took almost half an hour to reach Lucky Plaza. Sorry Ben. Met his friends. Not too nice people on their personality so ask Ben abt them ya? Ben treated me MOS burger!! Yaynesses!! Second dinner treat in two days. Kind of a nice reward for doing QT every morning. Txs God! Got my socks and a nice talk with Ben. Had a mini econs lesson too about Malaysia's emerging economy.
Went back on a 16. Stopped at VJ instead of VS. Walked all the way home... Sad, but still rejoicing on the inside. God is truly good! Hope God grants miracles to 06 for their skit too. Patchy, but falling into place.
Friday
One word : BUSY. First four periods were lessons. 06 exhibition ppl were so bored. Sorry Yumei, Sek Hui and Dao En. 21 ppl, well, skit falling in place. I really thank God for Zsa^2 who is pulling it together and everyone who listens to her. Also to those who did the blogs, awesome stuff.
Next was some quick marking then Dao Kang came for lunch. I was late. Sorry ya DK. Ate my "dinner" meal. Then DK crashed TJ for a bit. Then I had to quickly finish my marking, Completed all and tabled all the results. Passes here and there, but hope to see greater things!
Went to meet Jean at City Hall. Walked the bottom of Raffles City. With weird shops selling extremely ex stuff. Walked to and through all six floors of Funan till we almost died.. And founf, in Jean's favourite adjective, fugly stuff. We established criteria no. 1 for all laptop bags/cases, it must have handles. If not, reject it no matter how cool it looked. So with this rule, we looked through many fugly bags and finally gave up cuz they were too ex anyway. Waited for 20mins for 14. It came and we "epitomised the idiom 'packed as sardines' " according to Jean. Yup. was a tiring ride. Taught Jean to bluetooth messages but she had more fun sleeping on the way back
Reached the stop and waited for 12. Thank God I didn;t miss it cuz the non-double decker one came. I raced to the hawker center, ordered my "dinner" raced once again to TJ. Reached Audi at 7.30 when i was supposed to be there at 7.00. Great. I opened the door and expected at most 50 parents, but there was like slightly less than a 2nd O crowd! It was scary. I did shiver and was scared but God must have calmed me down when I finally started my speech at 8.20, a quarter of an eternity away from the actual time of 7.40. Gave my speech, but ALL credit goes to God who must have helped me so much. Cuz Ms Ying didn't think anything spectacular of it, netiher did Ms Faye Tan who vetted it a second time nor Mrs Lim who saw it for clarification, but it went on very well and I've been invited to speak to the Year 1 and 2 cohorts to spur them on!
Talked to some parents then rushed off to church. Rachael was having her powerfully wonderful sessions today. Although it looked like P1 art class with all the drawings, it was a meaningful reflection on our past, present, and (this is the best) our hoped for future and our most feared future. Yup. maybe you'd take some time to reflect on it too? See where you wanna be? How you're gonna get there? Can you make it? If not, try God and see if He can ever fail you? Theme song : I Surrender
Awesomely tiring day. Random stuff. Phildia, looks cute in TKGS U, but Julie... err.. P5? N txs for not falling asleep ya Phildia in my speech. I got a Singapore souvenier for the speech. Audi is cold as ever. Staffroom too. Funan is big. 50 minutes is short. Bedok Swimming Complex is so far ppl need to cab down to TJ. Google Earth was so sabo-ed by me. I dunno what a vanguard sheet is
