Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Due to a lack of time, we are only able to present to you a short clip on what has happened in the past 3 amazing days.

Yup, we only have time for the headlines and we'll end with a memorable quote as we close this season of KenNews. Whether a next season will be aired will hugely depend on the upgrading process of our facilities as NUS IT Fair comes to town.

Reality : Not easy, but not impossible. Luke 1v37
That's all for season 1 of KenNews, hope you have enjoyed it thus far. Closing credits are courtesy of Sy Rogers, WAY better than Kenny Rogers

# KenNews #02
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Due to overwhelming response all over the world, we have decided to keep the show running (whether u like it or not =p)
In this special second edition, TJChoir literally steals the Limelight at the Theatres on the Bay.
Since it has only been a day since our last show, nothing much has happened in the whole wide world amond 6.5 billion humans and a few other organism we share the earth with. And hence we are unashamed of our lack of updates. So with nothing more interesting than the weather, we shall end this episode with the weather!
Last night, the TJChoir staged an unsuccesful attempt of collapsing the Esplanade Concert Hall as their voices were too good to bring the house down. They were even seen leaving the stage several times as they expected the roof to fall, but to the audience's relief, they came back and tried even harder to bring the house down. Suffice to say, it did not collapse and our reporter managed to get out unharmed.
Arriving glamourously in a cab, our reporter was there early to be treated to a totally new kind of art. The un-understandable. Yes, many have seen such pieces before, but nothing could beat the head of an eagle and the onion of a mosque on a "dacing". Perplexed, our reporter just moved on.
There was an Upbeat performance, by, none other than that world-famous acapella group, Upbeat. Who? Our reporter thought likewise. But they were definitely more than decent. After collecting secret documents from the staff, we were introduced to the grand hall itself.
Accoustically brilliant, aesthetically, wanting. The roof had holes for wires which made some think that ooze would just drip out halfway. Also, the retractable chandelier looked sort of like an engine turbine. Perhaps the Esplanade is actually a huge Durian Transformer which can transform into an aircraft, though with only one engine.
The seats were designed specially to keep you awake as there is no headrest, other than the solid thump u hear when an audience sitting beside our reporter tried to lean back. That's Zhiyuan. Apparently her brain isn't empty cuz it actually sounded like it hurt.
Apart from the sound of that headbanging reverberating through the hall, the accoustics carried the choir beautifully, as they came on stage, to a relatively rapturous applause.
Singing "I Am Spring" (please translate into foreign language yourself), they openedrather nicely to our tonedeaf reporter. Why did we send a tonedeaf reporter? Cuz we're severely understaffed at the moment. Applicants can send their resume to the tagboard at http://kensw87.blogspot.com/.
Back to our feature of the day, the emcee of the day couldn't have been featured any less. Trying to blend in with the concert hall with the dullest dress ever, and trying to hide but forgetting to come out at the correct time (and claiming she wasn't asleep) didn't help to improve her image. Apart from the beautifully crafted script which she (must have) murdered (out of jealousy), she contributed nothing more than to fill the air with soundwaves to that the audience could speak to each other without standing out in the hall with superb accoustics.
There were a few pieces which our reported heard in previous concerts, but they were very well sung today. Among the crowd favourites were Miniwanka (Momens of Water) and their encore piece. However, it was quite obvious the crowd wasn't one that fully appreciated choral music as laughters and sniggers were weaved into Miniwanka (without the conductor's consent) as the choir did lip thrills. While the crowd managed to behave in a civilized manner, their true colours showed towards the end with people Swee Liang, Bryant, Trinity, Valerian from the row the reporter was seating in started to shout encore rather... well... ... shall avoid defaming them.
Overall it was a good concert, but the choir members were busy hiding themselves after the concert which made the post concert a little draggy. But all in all, the $11 was a bargain for a night of music and lime (flashlights only for Xiao Chun and Shi Yun)
Now, for the weather report. It has been reported that Singaporeans can now save electricty by not using aircons to cool rooms, or fridges to make ice. But we do anyway. The headquarters of KenNews might have fallen to sub zero levels with the air-conditioning at full blast amid cats and dogs screaming down the windows. (Imagine that...) Also, it was a chilly night after the concert as Gelare's ice-cream waffles were attracting people at half-price. Chilly weather continues as the Global Warming takes a much needed holiday. Global Warming will be back to haunt us when just are about to start that PE lesson or when we plan to walk to the interchange. Don't forget to say hi to it's twin, the scorching sun when it comes by
That's all for this mini second special edition of KenNews. Today's report was brought to you by Zsa Zsa, Zhiyuan, Yingen, Julie, Soon Li, Xiao Chun, Shi Yun, Carian, Trinity, Bryant, Swee Liang, Valerian, Evelyn, Michael, Ke Yang, and the many others at Limelight 2007.

# Superpowers?
Your Superpower Should Be Mind Reading |
You are brilliant, insightful, and intuitive. You understand people better than they would like to be understood. Highly sensitive, you are good at putting together seemingly irrelevant details. You figure out what's going on before anyone knows that anything is going on!
Why you would be a good superhero: You don't care what people think, and you'd do whatever needed to be done
Your biggest problem as a superhero: Feeling even more isolated than you do now |

# KenNews #01
Hello and good evening and welcome to the pilot episode of KenNethws, bringing you news from a grand total of ONE source, Kenneth. This brand new innovative show will bring you news like never before, news received, interpreted, paraphrased to any extent i want and delivered right to the very pixels of your screen. So special isn't it? I bet you can't resist to change the channel, so don't bother. Let's go on right ahead.
In headlines today Kenneth finds out his posting results. Also, who are the two people who's brithdays fall on 23rd July along with the many others in the ultimate archives of Kenneth's 5300 Calendar.
In local news, Cell Group Meeting shifts to a new location in a shocking turn of events. Also, Alumni Galore, find out who's been back in TJC.
Since this is a new news show, we have almost no business news to tell you, so stay tuned to find out if there even is such a section.
Ending off with sports, we find out what happened during the most memorable investiture ever, the15th House Committee Investiture.
Finally (haha, u thought it was over didn't you), we will have the weather forecast. What kind of weather, stay tuned to find out.
*cue music. lights. camera. news*
Good morning/afternoon/evening [delete where appropriate] ladies and gentlemen and welcome to KenNews. Starting with the most significant event this week, our sources from gmail.com have informed us of the location of Kenneth's posting. And if you think it's Infantry or Guard, you don't know Kenneth at all. If you thought Commando, you're at the wrong blog (because a Google® search of "Kenneth" will give you, and I quote "Results 1 - 10 of about 85,400,000 for Kenneth. (0.20 seconds) ").
So what posting is this? To Kenneth's mixed reaction. It is a type C room. Block 19. Room H. Prince George's Park Residence, henceforth known as PGPR (somewhat resembling PowerPuffGiRls). Yes, it has been confirmed by, and once again i quote
"Yeow Huiqun Eliane "
who delivered the news through gmail.com's servers to our inbox from the Office of Student Affairs.
In line with that, Kenneth has been issued a bill for $1080 till December 9th which he has to cough up on August 6th upon checking in, along with various documents which much be painstakingly gathered from the far reaches of the universe.
In a totally unrelated yet linked news, we were officially the first news network to wish Samuel Yapp Jun Sem a happy 20th birthday as this Guitar/DoTA/Lameness legend from M4-06 was caught unaware in his hideout in the shady halls of Raffles. Yes, Sam has been spotted walking the halls of this dreaded hall, where he has been predicted to have set up a base there. Among his known accomplices is a man, whose name is still unknown, but through a complex tracking suspect management system (SMS) has been identified as an ASEAN scholar from the renegade state of Penang.
Although the credibility of this news network being the first to greet him has been challenged, we stand by the fact that the area in which Raffles Hall is located is so ulu such that it exists in a different timezone from our headquarters in Sennett Road such that the time the sms was sent was actually correct as of press time, but due to NUS being so far away, it was only 2355 hours there. Thus, we are justified in our claim of being the first to greet him happy birthday.
As mentioned earlier, another person has been identified as having the same birthday and she is none other than Rachel Wong Rui Qing. Our sources tell us that she will soon be arriving in NUS in the FASS.
Closing this chapter of birthdays, is the honour list of people whose birthdays fall in the awesome month of july. And here they are, in order of birthdate (not birthyear)
Today's headlines were brought to you by Nokia 5300, a fully functional slide phone. That's about it.
In local news. With the arrival of dad, Aunty Fang has announced that Cell Group Meeting will be shifted to Sennett this Wednesday. With the Cell Group alerted, this news station will be sponsoring doughnuts for the coming meeting as people from almost all walks and crawls of life will congregrate for not one, but two amazing sessions on Habitudes. Also, Cell Leader Gabriel has been seen trying to confirm attendance for the Sy Rogers Conference at HoGC from 27-29.
As Cell Group Meeting comes back to Sennett, so have many ex-students of TJC returned to their alma mater. Our reporter on the scene has been able to interview several high profile students, with the first being Juliana Au. A highly intelligent, physics loving (OH YEAH!!) ex-19/05 relief teacher has been captured and deported while trying to turn the massage chair in the teachers' lounge into a secret killing machine for the ****. Juliana had little remorse as she left the premises as she felt more attached to A*STAR and will vow to one day totally change the battlefield as she aspires to be a researcher who deals with NS stuff.
****disclaimer: Highly paraphrased and reinterpreted chain of events. SORYY JULIANA!! It was nice having you around! All the best k in Imperial!! Really happy to have met you!!****
Among other celebrities, Valerie Ann Nunis was also captured outside the StaffRoom. This student is a force to be reckoned with as she alone is 10% of the May Ball Committee for University of CAMBRIDGE!!! which will play host to 2400 students in this event. Our reporter manage to receive numerous tips on, and we quote Ms Nunis, "How To Survive Alcoholism". Among the useful tips are
1. Never trust Asians to brew your drink while abroad.
2. When a person falls to the ground from being drunk, remember what how the drink he/she last drank looked like, and tell yourself "Im not drinking that"
3.Get guys to pay your cover charge if you're a girl. If you're a guy, don't drink (italics mine)
4. When your friend gets drunk. Take photos first, then bring them home safely and make them coffee and toast.
Finally, making a cameo appearance towards the end of the day was Xiu Min, also from the now famous 19/05, who was seen searching for the only-when-you-want-to-find-him-or-he's-just-everywhere elusive Mr Tong. Now on her summer break from Curtin in Australia, this ex-19/05 student attempted to track down Mr Tong but to no avail, and left the reporter with news that she'll be back...
Now, since we only have one business on earth, and that's Kingdom's business, the business section this week is brought to you our reporter, Kenneth who attended one of the Kingdom's Seminar last Saturday, and took minutes from the speaker of the day, Roland Tan.
Roland Tan shared on how to get out of depression. One simple solution, GTTSAJC. GTTSAJC will be revealed at the end of this section, but first, the link from depression. Why are we depressed sometime? It's because what's inside us isn't feeling too happy, or has been grieved. And what's inside us? The Holy Spirit. And when Jesus said the Holy Spirit would come, he would give us the power to be His witnesses. So that's what the Holy Spirit wants us to do, witness. And when we don't the Holy Spirit is sad, and when He's sad on the inside, we're sad on the outside, and inside. So, the cure for that would be to GTTSAJC - Go Talk To Someone About Jesus Christ. Awesome no?
Glad you are still with us. If you have just scrolled down to this section, please do the right thing by scrolling back up, reading and scrolling back down. Support our generous scrolling sponsored ads as well. Now in the world of sports, the 14th House Committee has stepped down from office with a peaceful ceremony, spiced up with, erm, memorable moments.
The event started promptly at 3.30, in line with the invitation that said it would start at 3pm, in the sacred, but now sacrileged, TJC Auditorium. Among the highlights of the day was the one word from the HC Pledge which our reporter did not know how to spell, and neither did the entire auditorium understand. Further clarifications can be obtained from Ong Hui Min, who now presides over the four houses. Also, Alpha House had a mix up with their movements, The house flags of Delta and Gamma forgot to come out, and the college anthem was sung, without music. Not to mention an incident when the microphone did not work, and when it did work, the emcee called out AV. After the laughter subsided, we then realised "AV" was for the AV Club to come and receive their token of appreciation, and not to fix the mic. Best of all, the photography club representative went on stage instead.
A horrified Ms ThangUm (which was graciously misspelled) was later seen lamenting over the tragedy in the staffroom. Also, a sad bouquet of flowers for the principal was left lying on a chair somewhere and didn't end up in the principals hands. Also, the school flag is now stashed away in the staff room as the HC members left it in 106 after clearing up. On a not too sweet note, a mic was severely injured but has since been stablized after a stampede of one of the HC's dancing dropped the mic to the floor.
A truly memorable event, which will sadly go unnoticed by any other JC as none were invited. Perhaps they were invited, but never came.
Finally, we come to the weather forecast. For this week, uncertain weather ahead as Kenneth goes for his only second ever medical checkup at UHWC in NUS along with mian and possibly Sam. Peaceful night forecasted tomorrow as TJChoir performs in Limelight in the Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets, STILL VERY AVAILABLE, contact Carian, Valarie or ShiYun for much appreciated details. Sunny weather expected as JoJo and Eugene return to TJ for the last time n the foreseeable future as our news team will be down at ECP as we capture the event of the final meeting of the RTs.
So that's it for the pilot episode of KenNews, thank you for watching, now go on and get back to ur MSN window which is blinking. If you liked this and would like to hear more from us, do drop us a tag at the tag board on the leftRIGHT. Alternatively, leave us a comment by clicking on some random button below or lastly, if you really have too much free sms, drop us a line a 81150410 via our complex tracking Suspect Management System (SMS)
Thank you and see you again.
****disclaimer:names used are purely non-fictional and bear 100% resemblance to those in real life. Any error in reporting is to be reported to the area of your brain that is labelled "HUMOUR" and should be channelled to either laughter or a smile****

My cell presentation. Check out the cool double screen, weird lamp and awesome cell mates! Yup, we're just one cell in the awesomely excellent YA of CFC
Games time! With XiuYu holding the sponge soaked in ice cold water and Hui Koon being oblovious to the danger (while Rachel in the background laughs on!)
Guess what... WE... ARE THE CHAMPIONS (for Christ)..... MY FRIEND..... (yes, we had to be that lame to sing it for our first anniversary x)
Oh, the emcees were having a go at being Champions (for Christ) too! Check out the colourful decor hanging from the roof!
More weird games, no idea what XiuYu (or secretly Balloon Woman) was trying to do here. More photos soon!

# More Pics
This is just a sneak preview of the "jail cell" that will soon Break Free!! It's an art installation btw if you're wondering what u're looking at...
This is Livia's cell who has a whole banner of photos, 2 sheets of "family" info, and for the hungry (or love deprived) free Hershey's Kisses (can u see the red sign? it says "Kisses from us to you"!)
This is BumbleBel's cell, the K.IN.G's INC. With their larger than life (literally and perhaps metaphorically speaking) BLOG. See, it actually looks like an Explorer window, with some multi coloured cookies on the side. The cookies are multicoloured cuz they are BURNT baked to different degrees of perfection. Hehe! It's for the church building fund (=
All hail Miss Meredix as she is seen giving a lecture on her cell's presentation. Beware, hidden members of S.H.E lurk somewhere in this cell's presentation =s
This is just a funny photo of Steffi. My mortal during church camp, and now without her guardian angel, is left to begging for food during the cell presentation.. Aww...

# Singapore's A Small Place
Monday
Let's see, it was a rather eventful monday yesterday. Hmmm.. what di di do at work again? It's getting harder and harder to remember. Now i know why im supposed to keep a log of it. Should i do it now? Lazy lar... ok fine, i should before i totally forget everything.. Ok done. Yes, i actually completed my work log until today. Most probably gonna look for more work later. No im not crazy. Im gonna have to do it anyway, might as well do it when im bored out of my mind right?
Ok, anyway, back to the fun part of Monday. After school.. Oh wait.. school was actually quite fun (=
Why? Cuz Juliana came back to relief Mrs Poon for Physics. Im jealous she go tto teach physics. But oh well, at least i got to teach (= (=
I was quite embarrassed that i had to ask Juliana her name, cuz i sort of remembered it, but then, didn't dare guess cuz it might be wrong, so yeah, asked her, and yup, it was Juliana. Knew her from LEO club, i think. But i've also seen her ard school, so yeah, im not that blur lar
Ok ok, so wanted to help her get into the place so brought her to Eugene's place, and apparently we were teaching her all the "bad things" according to Cal Vin. Oh well, it's always more fun relief teaching that way.
Wanted to help Juliana sign in, so we headed to the HUB to get her paper, but nobody was in the GO, so we decided to go to the HUB instead to get her EZLink card done... but so stupid.. it wasn't even 9am yet, so we went to stone for a while...
But before we were even the slightest bit hardened from stoning, we met Zhi Rui! To the uninformed, she the Vice President of the 28th Students' Council. Also, she an awesome art student who's coursework occupied an entire room in TJ! Cool eh? It was a whole room filled with small glass bottles that were filled with coloured water and that made a nice design. Really really cool piece of art. Anyway, what swas she doing back in TJ? She was called back to paint a mural in the TRCResearch @ East Zone. What's that? It's basically the TRC being made a COE. What's a COE, that's a Centre of Excellence. What's a Centre of Excellence? Go visit MOE's website to find out. I dun really want to know either, but it's quite cool considering we are installing a multithousand dollar CCTV system in there, with cool scanners and whatever else.
Ok, back to the interesting part, Zhi Rui was bringing painting stuff to the TRC or R@EZ or whatever u wanna call it, so they decided to use the lift cuz the painting stuff was in a trolley. So we boarded the lift, 5 of us... and it was too heavy.. saded.. i had to step out. ... BOooOooOOoo..
So i hopped upstairs even before the lift arrived. HAH!
Anyway, then we had to go back down to get old TA banners to cover the carpet in TRC. So i had the chance to ride the elevator in the end! Hehehe!!! Cool (= but slow...
Oh well, took all the stuff, pasted it to the floor... or kind of actually cuz masking tape and carpets aren't exactly the closest of friends, especially not when u have an old banner in between. Then Juliana and I decided to get the more important things settled first, so we went down to the GO, signed her contract, then went to the HUB, got her EZLink card done (btw, Juliana thinks the EZLink card design is new.. haha!) then went back to the staffroom and started real work.
Soon, it was time to leave... FOR KINOKUNIYA!!
Yup, it's time to spend $80 before they expire. So fun right? I couldn't have been more wrong.
Took 38 on which i met Maddy!! Hope ur test turned out good (= Then took MRT all the way down to Orchard, walked into Taka and called FX, she was with Audrey and Odelia (i think that's how ur name is spelt, sorry if it's wrong). She told me she was a Christian Dior that side, so i looked at the directory, found dior.. actually found where it was, didn't find the shop exactly... cuz i was so blur i didn't realise Christian Dior's shop only had the word Dior on it... =/
So i went back and forth looking for CHRISTIAN dior.. And when i finally found it, FX wasn't there, so called her again, she said she's at Tommy Hillfiger (however his unimportant name is spelt). Looked at directory again, and this time even better. TH is not even in the directory. Haha!! So i wasndered around Taka for like 10 minutes until i realised, it had to be in the departmental store, so i took the "shortcut" there by going out of the tower A side and straight into tower B. While at the very same moment, Aunty Fang decided to walk towards me from inside. So... yeah.. we didn't meet each other. When i finally gave up looking for her, Audrey called. Then she said they were at the info counter, and finally, a place that CANNOT be mixed up.
Walked towards it, and within 1 minute, i met Audrey and Odelia (whom I've never met before in my life). And to my no-longer-suprise-able surprise, FX wasn't with them because she was looking for me. =/
So we went back into Taka to find her, and funny thing is she called me, and Aud and Ode spotted her calling and then finally, met FX, and the whole bunch was complete. According to FX, it was me with 3 babes. Haha... Well, basically, it was FX and her TKGS friends. At least I knew Aud so it wasn't weird or anything.
So we shopped around for a bag charm
Definition : things u attach to your bag
By : Audrey
Paraphrased by : me :)
Apparently thats what i understood it was, so we shopped for that for a while, then decided to go Kino when FX couldn't find anything she liked. Aud had $80 voucher too, so it wasn't just me hunting for a book. I could drag FX, Aud and Ode along too! Haha... so we wandered into Kino, looked for the Engin section, found it, and along with it, my nightmare.
There were SO MANY ENGIN books. And they were on SO MANY different topics, and by SO MANY different companies, using SO MANY (u get my drift by now ryte?) types of notations and styles. So.. after about 15 minutes of looking, i gave up and decided to go and buy stationery instead. On the way, FX pulled out a rather out-of-topic book, why humans enjoy sex. LOL... Way too random.
Found the stationery place, nothing much there other than cute ESPIRIT books, gay pink notebooks, lots more gay stuff, tiny cute stuff, tiny cute and gay stuff, redundant stuff, stuff u'll never use, stuff tat's ONLY nice to look at, and more useless stuff. The best of all, they were ALL overpriced. I could actually save money by not buying stuff using the voucher there i think.. *swt*...
So then, after realising that i was going to get ripped off buying stationery, i went back to the Engin section alone, while FX, Aud and Ode continued looking at stuff. Called Bert in desperation and he helped me to narrow down my selection... By about 50% leaving me 50% of the Library of Alexandria to search for a gem.
Yup, you guessed it, i gave up trying to buy an engin book. Why? Because Bert can pass me down year 1 books, so i tried to find year 2 or 3 books, but Bert is not in Mech Engin, so he doesn't know exactly. Also, NUS has this annoying habit of only announcing books they are going to use like 1 week before the lecture starts, so yeah, dream on about trying to buy books 2 years in advance... I tried... i tried... that's what matters right?
NOT, i still had to use $80 or it'll be like totally wasted. Stationery. All $80 of it was very tempting, but Bert then said maybe i should buy Maths books. After hopelessly drowning in formulas, i called Bert again, read out some names of chapters to him, he didn't know much except to tell me what chapters he has studied (year 1 engin ones) so i could avoid them. But there's are two stupid things about buying books in this world.
1 - the books are sealed
2 - the names don't really help
Take these few words
-Advanced
-Mathematics
-Higher
-Engineering
Permutate them any way u want
Advanced Engineering mathematics
Engineering higher mathematics
Higher Mathematics for Engineering
Mathematics for advanced engineering
And ta daa~~~ u get a new title of a book.
So how on earth am i supposed to figure which one works?
So after boring Aud to death and Ode to sitting down on the floor... I decided on a book
Only to have to bookshelf have the last laugh when the display copy was the only one left.
So i went through the head-spinning process of selecting another book, only for it to be the last copy AS WELL...
So.. i bought it.
I WIN... (so not the point)
Bought two pens to top up till $80 and stepped out of Kino
FREEEDDDDOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!
Yes, i felt my entire world feel less gloomy.
FX left already as she had something on, so it was just me, Aud and Ode. Then we decided to walk around Taka for a bit, realising we;re not up to standard, went outside and i bought the Ah Pek Ice Cream. Hehe, nice one (=
Then decided to be extra and suggested we ride the escalator all the way up to lvl4 Food Republic in Wisma. Walked around food republic, commented on the food, and got threatened by a Durian [insert some chinese word for a type of food here] by Aud and then went down. Walked around Wisma. Spent a bit of time in places like edc, Topshop, MNG (or Mango, i know its the same thing now =)
Interesting in Topshop, threatened Ode with a yellow/silver shiny tube top, tried to figure out how this long top was supposed to fit anyone, looked for Ode between clothes, and learnt what Jelly shoes are. Yup, spent quite a lot of time in there, wandered around quite a bit.
Actually, that's what we did for like 3 hours? Haha, at least it was much better than Kino. Seriously much better. Got to know a bit more abt Ode and Aud. Both going NUS *high five* and FASS. Ode's from FCBC and Audrey, yeah, Calvary. Ode has a twin sister, who's going to engin too, chem. With my face-recognition software being out of date, im sure to mix them up. EEeekk.
Okay, i also had the privilege of finding out that some girls are less shopping-educated as me. Hahaha! At least when it came to one thing. Audrey knows Paperchase, but not Prints. Ode knows Prints, but not Paperchase. So after wandering almost all of Atria, we walked all the way to Borders. And when we stepped in, apart from feeling so much better than in Kino, the door alarm went off..
Haih... just as i was feeling better, realised the noob guy at Kino didn't UN-whatever-it-is-they-do my book, so it rang the Borders alarm. Sian... the guy summore ask me questions like where i got the book from, why is it still sealed (freaking i don't want it sealed larr.. hello.. read above part of this post can?) and other stupid stuff.
Like hello... Im going to steal a book from Kino and secretly sneak it in to Borders. So scheming of me right?
Anyway, apart from the fact that he didn't see it was a Kino bag, Kino price tag AND Kino receipt which i produced, he took the stuff away, did something and gave me back. IM HAPPY.
So we moved on and jumped straight to Paperchase and Ode was enlightened. Found rather interesting stuff, and she almost bought a black pencil tin (or so its called) with colourful horses on them. Found out you get ripped off if you buy the first deck of Borders playing cards cuz its $3 more expensive than the rest in the pile... and random other stuff.
Then we decided to go to Heeren cuz it's quite a hip place. And i found out it has 5 levels. Most fun part was action city. So many cute stuff. Like the evil safe that laughs at u if u get hte combination wrong. And Action City has good taste in music. Linkin Park (=
Ok, after realising i was actually going to be late, i left for tuition, and took the same bus back as Ode as she stayed in Marine Drive or somehting of that sort. Aud was nice enough to wait for us to get our bus, before heading for Somerset MRT.
Had a nice bus ride back, talked with Ode quite a bit. Think i talked too much. Sorry Ode, first time meet me and have to listen to me talk so much. Haha...
Anyway, was late for tuition by 15 minutes, ate for 15 minutes with the family, then taught tuition till 10. Did some physics too. Lesson of the day
POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE DENOTE : DIRECTION
Fun day. Met two "new" ppl. Juliana and Odelia. Apparently Jayne Tong, u know Odelia too. Singapore is a small placeLabels: Atria, Audrey, Borders, edc, FX, Heeren, Juliana, Kinokuniya, MNG, Odelia, Orchard, Taka, Topshop, Zhi Rui

# Cell Presentation
Today was the day we celebrated our first anniversary as YA. Not the actual date, but it was an actual party. Went down to church early for decor work. Things i found out
-im weak
-Rayvin can go mad when cutting paper
-climbing ladders is fine for me
-Livia is very creative
-the BASC has not too nice chairs
-cookies can smell really nice (=
-i owe Winnie $1.35
It was really nice with colours all over. For hte first time, the YA decor matched the BASC Hall, which is like super kiddish. I mean, they have colours, teddy bears, fished, and everything else kiddish all over the place. And YOUNG ADULTS's decor matched it. Lolz... So much for being grown up eh? But it was a cheery kind of colourful.
So a quick run through of events before we actually start the main highlight. It started with Aiken and Sam emcee-ing, then it flowed on to Michelle for the events of the day. Ps Mark gave a great sharing about our history as Champions for Christ. Why we exist, and that we are NOT a social club. We exist for such a greater purpose than that.
Ok while my other browser window opens up, i'll move along. Oh wait, we had spongebob wetpants game too. Quite funny, and XiuYu is so not violent. Haha, good thing Hui Koon didn't get the ice cold sponge first. But the guys were really violent, and Alex got the worst of it. Hehe.. Sam was mad lar.. threw ice cold water over him when he got the sponge, and we were stil in the hall mind you.. Out came the mops as we hurried to dry up "Fantasy Island" as Michelle called it.
Ah, here it is, after much searching, the awesome Isaiah 19
20It will become a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of oppressors, and He will send them a (AF)Savior and a (AG)Champion, and He will deliver them.
Yup, we are called to be the Champions for Christ (CFC) in our Egypts, in the places we are in, meeting the needs of our generation which cries out for a saviour! So that's who we are!
Fun part of the night was that everyone there got notebooks!! Freee!!!! or was it included in the price.. hmm.. dun think so. But quite fun ryte? YA's birthday and we all get presents. Quite a nice concept (=
Other cool stuff that happened that night, was Alex "the new preacher"'s testimony. Very nice!! *claps n shouts!* haha. The cells were all geared up that night for the main highlight, okay, the newcomers were the main highlight, but this stile ur thunder.... CELL PRESENTATIONS!!
Okay, we had like.. more than a month to do it... but us being us, we stalled and procrastinated and gave excused and lazed our way till this very deadline arrived, and i think i can safely say ALL the cells did theirs this week. Super obvious one was Alvin's cell (not cuz theirs was lousy, but cuz they stayed at Sennett all Friday to complete it)...so here it is... the CELL PRESENTATIONS
Let me start with my very own cell. Ours was the ONLY dual screen presentation using ONE laptop! Haha!! Others (like Bert's) also had dual screen, but they had TWO laptops, i had the privilege of setting up two screen's on my laptop. Ok, TJ's laptop. And the fact is this laptop sucks.. not powerful enough to run a powerpoint and a video without lagging... So sad, and the video is also super small lar.. 7 minutes and only 25mb leh.. Ok, apart from the whining, let's continue to how ours looked like. At first it looked like it was gonna look super business like, black table cloth, black PC, black 2nd LCD screen. Then came along FX the saviour with the colourful decor, which included her darling turtle on a chair, multiple pictures of food and other items (like e-guitars, flutes, food, soccer, food, popiah, food) did i say food? But anyway, it was very highlighting for our exhibition as it was all black other than that! And i also used one as a mouse pad.. hehe.. But anyway, it was really really one of the best exhibits there! Plus James put his Liverpool jersey as part of the tablecloth for our exhibit so it didn't look too black. If i get the photo then i'll upload here lar k? It's on Roland's cam though...
Ok, other exhibits, let's see, right beside ours was the uber loud, sub-woofer blasting, jai-breaking (literally mind you), attention catching, ART INSTALLATION of Rachael's cell. Come on, would you expect anything less from their uber loud cell? They literally made a prison CELL (see the pun) out of scaffolding, and then taped warning notices all over about how this cell helps you to BREAK FREE!! They also played Break Free (from SAVIOUR KING which is not out in SG yet on the blasting Creative Sub Woofer system they installed together with their installation) to go along with the theme. They had before and after photos which were very cool, with captions like
Before : wife-basher (Aiken i think)
After : Demon-basher
Before : prostitute (Rachael)
After : Preacher!!
So funny! And had their cell vision and all that. Not too far away was KINGs INC with their cokie store which was selling cookies for the building fund, along with tjeir blog exhibition. Maybe i should try to get the link so u guys can see. They has pictures of their blog, one big artpiece on their blog and many cookies on sale with a nice green/yellow crepe paper bow (=
Also near us was I dunno who's cell with the super cool "board game" detailing how their cell grew, together with a MacBook "built into the game's 3D board". Quite cool cuz its like there is a hole that has a curtain, and behind is a screen with their cell's movie.
Then Vanessa's cell, which is the biggest cell with 10 people had this really huge board with the cityscape in black. Then they punctured holes and fit lightbulbs into the buildings with their cell members names on it. So cool ryte? Being literally the light of the world!! Then they even had free lightsticks at their booth. Also close by was Livia's cell, which had free Hershey's Kisses and a nice photo slideshow, photo banner, and two sheets on their cell with info on their goals, profile and such.
Other interesting ones.. wait.. they were all interesting.. REALLY! were Bert's cell which had this whole flash thing going on, where they had this whole story about how their cell is like this group which is being hunted down but got saved by God. Cool with all the special Flash effects in their video. Nicely done! Also had Alvin's cell which had the video of themselves, together with many items on sale. Quite ridiculous ones, all from the youth room. Even had broken drum crash cymbal on sale. Haha!
Then there was also Chellie's cell which had this huge board divided into 20 parts, and every member took one, together with their cell goals and all, with 3 empty spaces for growth! And Meredith or Meredicks as she is called, was giving a lecture on their presentation with a thin stick. Quite funny! And also Jayne pointed out her S.H.E picture in her box, together with her favourite "SALE" picture.
I think that is all the cell presentations, but i think if i can get the pictures only willl you guys know how awesome cool every cell's presentation was!!
I think my cell did quite well. IT was quite well done, if i don't literally say so myself, Decor had a touch of colour, while the double screen made it stand out. Oh, we had a lamp installed in as well to give light to the display as it was a night party.
Other cool stuff, Jayne's back from Korea, Chellie and I think this should be our Emerge! conference, where the cell exhibition will be the main highlight as we set to display our cells in all its glory and creative awesomeness!!
Haha, what else can i say about YA. We are just a bunch of awesome people, serving the most awesome God!!!
Nitez people, hope u enjoyed the party! (= Cheers!Labels: Aiken, Alvin, Bertrand, Cell Presentation, Jayne, Livia, Meredith, Michelle, Ps Mark, Rayvin, Roland, Sam, YA 1st Birthday

# No Pit Stops
Just came back from Musicians Meeting and I strongly felt God speaking to me about this. So if you're living in the pits of life, if your life is in the valleys of despair, if u've hit a bottom u never knew existed in ur heart, or you just stumbled upon my blog, this post is for you.
Life is a rollercoaster, some say. It goes up... then down... then up and down again. We have high points in our lives, when our friends are all around us, when everything is going smoothly, when we are loved by everyone, when things just fall into place.
Then, there's also the times when everything jsut doesn't seem to work out. There are the times when it all just turns out wrong, or the worst... when we try to do something good, and get all sorts of crap for it.
We come to a conclusion that life is pretty much like the sine curve, or simple harmonic motion, lots of movement up and down, but going nowhere. Even the sine graph which goes on forever, when integrated has a 0 for the area under the graph. Even simple harmonic motions will dampen till zero. We feel that life is just meaningless. A series of ups and downs.
In the book, The Screwtape Letters, by C S Lewis, he calls it the Law of Undulation.
un·du·la·tion
Function: noun
1 a : a rising and falling in waves
Back to the musicians sharing session, we were talking about Planet Shakers' youth pastor from the latest album, Saviour of the World, and how Ps Mike wrote the song Healer. When? When he just got diagnosed with Leukaemia. When he was in the pits of life, he was able to praise God. When in the valleys of life, he didn't stay there, he got over it and came out victorious. And hence the title of the post today. It's what i heard from God while Emmanuel (that's a guy's name im referring to) was sharing about his thoughts.
NO PIT STOPS
God was telling me that that is how we should live our lives. When we reach the pits, we must not stop there. We don't come to a halt just because our lives are in the pits. We don't stop. We move on, with God's help.
So I asked God what else does He want to tell me about this? And what I have heard so far are basically 2 stories. One, is the story of none other than the man after God's own heart, David.
The story will start basically in 2 Samuel 12, where David had just "murdered" the husband of Bathsheba and married her. And God was displeased and told David through Nathan the prophet that his son would die. And it wasn't just a quick painless death, the child was sick for seven days. And for that seven days, David fasted and begged God to spare his son's life. But God still punished David. His life was in the pits. His only son had just died.
The next story is that of Joseph. The other classic one i know, but just listen with me. Most of us know the story.
Joseph got two dream, where his brothers were subject to him, and his brothers hated him and they threw him into a pit. His life was literally in the pits... As if that wasn't bad enough, his brothers changed their minds and sold him as a slave. Not only did their brother get their hands clean for not "killing" him, they made money as well. Then as a slave, he got even more crap for standing up for what was right. When he refused to get involved with his master's wife, he got framed for molestation and was thrown into prison. Joseph didn't have anything going for him.
But this is what we should do when our lives are at the lowest points. When we feel we are all alone, inadequate, unable to steer through the storms of life, insufficient.
David asked his servants if his son was dead (cuz they were too scared to tell the king who has been mourning for 7 full days). And when he heard the news, this is what he did, from 2 Samuel 12 still
20 Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.
21 His servants asked him, "Why are you acting this way? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept, but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat!"
He did not stay in depression, he did not stop in the pits of life. He did not abandon God who punished him. He turned back to God straight away when he realised that God wasn't going to save his son.
Then what did Joseph do? He had the right attitude. When sold as a slave, he became the best slave money could buy. When he was thrown in jail, he was the best prisoner a warden could ask for. So good that he was made in charge of everything, not only that.. check this out, from Genesis 39
23The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.
I think to myself, how on earth does on PROSPER in prison? But that's how God favour acts upon ur life.
So in conclusion, in life, there should be NO PIT STOPS. Yes, we will experience the pits and valleys of life, but hey, when Jesus prayed to the father for us, He prayed that we be taken out of this (evil) world but that we be protected from the evil one in John 17v15.
So how do we drag ourselves out of the pits we are in? We offer a sacrifice of praise as mentioned specifically in Hebrews 13v15. We praise God for who He is, even when it hurts. When it costs us something. When we have to sacrifice our emotions, and let God take control of all.
When we are in the pits, its so easy to feel depressed, like we have no potential to achieve anything, but that's ok. It's ok to feel lousy, sad, whatever, but not to stay that way. Draw near to God instead.
Think of the Energy versus Displacement graph of an oscillation. When the Potential Energy is at ZERO (0), then only is the Kinetic Energy Maximum.
When we feel we can't do it anymore, when we can't go on, that's when we rely on God's energy to keep us moving. Yes its sad that we usually turn to God when we are in the lowest points, but in those moments of weakness, His strength is made perfect. That is the only way we can get truly refreshed. And start soaring once again, to greater heights, instead of continuing in undulation
So lastly, I'll part with these words
All who are thristy,
All who are weak,
Come to the fountain,
Dip your heart in the streams of life,
Let the pain and the sorrow,
Be washed away,
In the waves of His mercy,
As deep cries out to deep
Come Lord Jesus, come
Come Lord Jesus, come

# Im Not Alone
Im sitting here in my room,
Looking around,
There's noone,
But I'm not alone.
In a land where I've stayed in 3 different places,
In just 3 years,
Where the closest family i've only known 3 years,
Im not alone.
Without a chatbox open,
Without an update,
The phone remaining silent,
Im not alone.
The air-con's not working,
The room's stuffy,
The volume low,
I found where I belong.
This laptop in my hand,
A church on which I can stand,
A job-one which won't last long,
I found where I belong.
There's nothing much to this place,
And in this barren, empty space,
I can know well, the true meaning,
Of a Saviour's embrace.
Though I tried to run away,
I let things slip through, go astray,
You didn't leave me alone.
The many troubles i didn't bear face,
When my energy didn't sustain for the race,
You came, Your embrace.
I fumbled right in Your face,
Pretended that I could do it all,
And when I failed, broken on the road,
I found out that,
Im not alone.
I've missed so many timings,
I've so much to yet learn,
But I'll try to run again,
This time, to your secret place.
Once again, I look around,
See nothing, but pictures in my mind,
Of people You've blessed me with,
So that,
Im not aloneLabels: Alone

# Back
Hello ppl, i back from Malaysia
Quick recap of what has happened so far! Took a bus at 11.15pm back to SG. There was this family of a mother n her two daughters who were on the bus. They were very friendly and nice (= one of them is even a model who models in Johor and KL, the other's a Form 4 girl in Johor Jaya. Anyone heard of that school before? But anyway, it was quite funny cuz they started talking to me first and the form 4 girl was like so nervous lar when i speak to her, she will either laugh, or answer some other thing which i did not ask and then laugh. Nervous laughter but after a while she got more used to it. Of course it didn't help that i speak too fast (as always) ad her english wasn't too good. Her older sis was also very nice, she's now a full time model, and she's very pretty! :D
Wanted to ask her if i could take a photo of her, but then.... haha... i was too embarrassed. Oh well, missed the chance. But at least i got to know her a bit, and her name too. When i talked to her younger sister, the younger sister said her name was Beautiful. Haha, so its Vivian (who's beautiful) and Beautiful. Lol.
Yup, it was a nice bus ride, except for the driver who thought that everyone wanted to listen to his collection of Malay music so he let everyone on the bus listen to it, although it was like 2-3 am... Some people are morons. At least i confirmed 3 things, i dun like Malay rock, all Malay rock songs are about love and lastly, all songs go in this order - opening music, song chorus and then a super long e-guitar solo, chorus-with-tonnes-of-e-guitar, more solo and end.
Okay, so the two sisters n their mom left at Johor, and i continued on to SG. Weird thing happened at the customs office, the officers were like detaining ppl and all, at 3 am.. so sad for those ppl. Then after the customs check, the bus i was riding told me to change bus.. so sad, my water bottle left on that bus.. Oh well, took the new bus, reached beach road, cabbed for $11.40 and reached Sennett at 4.30am. Slept in the hall till 7, reached TJ at 7.30 for work!
Reached and met JoJo on the way in, had morning assembly, Sorry Zhiyuan. Wrong day to see u raise flag eh? Then had all my work come in, wah... a lot sia... Met some of the students, had western Thursday with JoJo and Eugene and then also met Cai Yu and Cass and Co at the marquee. Chat up with them before leaving. Oh before that, let me just announce that my birthday is on the 27th of JULY!! Wwhich is also the same as Evelyn. Cooll eh? Haha, my "twin", two years late.
Then went for music prac, which was not too good, cuz we were like, not used to the stage, i was not used to the bass and... yeah, lots of not used to. But it was not that bad lar, maybe just me not totally fitting in yet. But it was nice being with the music team once again! (= (=
Okay, Friday was work too, and i alsmost came late. Met and talked with more students, wore the top that was the same colour as JoJo's, which obviously got us into quite a bit of humiliation. Okay, maybe just jokes lar, not that bad. Had a second lunch with Julie, Jaren, Sarah, Zhiyuan, Zsa Zsa and then went back to TJ and stoned a while under the stage.
Then had Bible Study with Claire, Ah Xiu, Rebecca, Pei Zhi and YG. It was a good BS, and then i rushed of to give Claire her GP tuition, which was so delayed.. eek... then had Pentecost Friday at church.
We practised a bit more until time was up. Then Ps Khoon Mei came to the stage and handed Vanessa 4 more songs for us to prepare during the prayer. Haha, already we were trying to get the 4 songs we practised right, and on the spot we had to play 4 more! Lolz. Yup, so we prayed and then played and it went ok, but could have been soooo much better. Like authoritative confidence, as Rachael put it. Yup, as singing our hearts out. But i guess it also came from the fact that we'd been up there for quite a while. 2 hours plus, so not too bad i guess?
Okay, thats the service, then most ppl went to Simpang but Hosea and i went home to Sennett. Then today happened. Early tuition with Benjamin. He didn't do his work, taught binomial expansion, and then ate and did my manual laundry again. Got Gilmore Girls Season 2 from Claire (or her bro rather) and then nw did this (=
Nice to be back! Oh oh, Another announcement, i got accommodation in NUS!! But dunno where yet lar. I'll keep ya guys updated!
And pray for Carl too, he got into a bad accident.Labels: Beautiful, Gilmore Girls, Jaren, Julie, Pentecost Friday, sarah, Vivian, Zhiyuan, Zsa^2
