# Jan 31 QT
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
That's quite a controversial thing to be the very FIRST thing God wants to tell us in the Bible. Kenneth here wanted God to speak to Him. TO reveal something new about Genesis chapter 1. And I didn't get anything until i started writing this blog post.
Wow, the very first thing God wanted us to know about Him is that He is the Creator of ALL things. That's what God wants us to realise, that is central to our lives. That everything we see, own, create, dream of, He made it. So "in him we live and have our being", so also in Him, from the very foundations of the earth, He wants us to find Him.
And that message never changed. Matthew 6:33 to seek His kingdom, not His creation, Matthew 5:6, to hunger and thirst for Him, not the food He gave to us.
The very first message of the Bible, God wants us to be clear on one thing - Materialism is not the way.
Also hidden beneath a simple start, is the fact that God knows that, well, man would eventually try to figure out everything apart from Him. So in His very first message to us, He's showing us how He did things. Not how we reason and proof with "scientific" knowledge. Not how logic defines facts. He's God beyond that.If He chose to create light on the first day and the Sun on the fourth, what is there to stop Him?
God also wants us to know that He is above all understanding. That He is not human. He is God. So Big Bangs or no, Evolution or E.T, God from the very beginning shows us that He is already above all of this. He is not insecure of Himself to give a logically sound version of creation that we can comprehend. God is God.
So what I learnt for the first time in Genesis 1 is God wants us to seek Him by showing us He created all things and He wants us to have control over it, but to stay in fellowship with Him.
Also, God wants us to know that He is God, not a scientific theory or philosophy. What He has said, He wants us to know He is above all things. And with that, we can trust Him, no matter what the circumstance in life is. Whether there is no way out, no future, God tells us it doesn't matter, He'll be there! He ALWAYS has been!

# One Day
Outside LT7A now, supposed to be doing mastering physics, but i have some time on my hands. This is also known as procrastinating, but oh well.
Just to keep track of what God has been doing for me in the past few days.
Coming back to school on Monday after the horrible saturday praise and worship wasn't the best start to the week. And it got worse as I just let myself get carried away. Then came the smack in the face I needed from God.
Things I wanna keep track to remind me that God is still real in my life
1) Finally I had the brains to use FireFox and managed to download Ps Kong's sermon on Focus and Goal Setting for 2008. Though it was something Alvin had already shared, I needed to hear what Ps Kong had to say. And now I wanna stay focused on growing in God. Not for anyone or to prove anything. Not even to save my friends, but because I Need You (Planetshakers). Thing that hit me the most from this sermon was, stay focused, recognise distractions.
2) Had a chat with one of my juniors about God, and it helped me realise that God still looks for available people, not the best, perfect, holy, righteous and upright all the time people. He loves each and everyone one of us the same. Nothing makes Him love us more or less. So I (think) I managed to inspire one my juniors to get more in love with Jesus and to find out more about Him. I then realised that God hasn't abandoned me.
3) Thank God for Dawn and Megan whom God has placed a similar vision for the campuses in their hearts. One of the things I was most afraid of was running the Battleplan all alone. But God has been faithful to "provide" people that I need to help me stay focused, encouraged and on fire to see His will be done.
4) Cell group was awesome yesterday. Thank God for speaking to me, and I hope the word was also through me and meant for everyone. Needed to just be with God, let God be my friend, not just my Lord or Saviour who did something awesome for me. Think about it, having friends in high places. Long for God to call me His friend. For Him to say, "you shall be my dwelling place".
Yeah that's how God has been encouraging me to continue running 2008 on focus. I think I shall cut down my 2008 goals to 4 things so that I can stay focused.
Bible Reading target
Prayer
Exercise
Studying
4 is still quite a stretch for focus, but I think these things need to be right first, and the rest would fall into place.
Heavy day ahead. Let's see... Kenneth is going to do Mastering Physics after this. Then discuss Engin Camp proposal. Then go for 4 hours of lecture. Then attempt to complete one hour of studying, 30 minutes of QT and sleep BEFORE 12.
Friday
Wake up at 9am. Do 30 minutes QT, start designing from 10am till 12pm. Have lunch from 12 to 1. Go for tutorial from 2 to 3. Teach tuition from 5 to 7. Pentecost from 7.30 to 10.
Saturday
Wake up at 9am. Practise the songs till 12. Have lunch till 1. Practise from 1.30 till 4. Campus meeting with Shaunster till 4.30. Follow up with Alwyn till 5. NUS meeting till 6. Prayer till 6.45. Pre-service party till service and so on till night.
Sunday
Wake up at 9am. Go church till 2.30. Meeting with Campus Dawn n Megan till 3.30. Homework till church closes. Back to NUS for a new week.
Wow, I'm so packed. Jesus please be with me. Jesus I Need You (Hungry For More).

# New Generation
IGNITE 08 was another defining moment. As was Infaction 07 to YA, Ignite was it for me personally. I've always wanted to do something for the campuses, but since TJ, i've always been one step behind. But I wanna thank God for IGNITE. Thank God for giving me the chance to attend this wonderful conference. Thank God for Heart of God Church for being very gracious hosts, Cornerstone for Open Heavens and the testimonies and encouragement they have been, and every other person for just being there to encourage me that, yes, there are other people who want to be counted for God in their generation.
The time I come, I strongly believe, that God is asking for a generation that will put faith into action, and take the Great Wonderful Awesome Gospel of Jesus along with them everywhere they go. And where else MUST the young generation go Monday to Friday. The SCHOOLS. And it's going to be a shaking for us, cuz school is so often where our "second life" is lived. The cool, the hip, happening most up to date personality lives. But what an impact we can have, when we see all our friends as Jesus sees them.
Not so much because we want this Ignite or New Generation movement to become the most happening thing in Singapore, but because of a new generation of young people who cry out for their schools with pure love in their hearts
"Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest"
Hosanna actually means "Save" and is also a form of praise.
A generation that will cry out to God to save their schools. Crying out to God to save, but also praising Him for who He is and what He has and will do. A heart of a new generation that beats for others. A heart that breaks at the thought of their friends not having the chance to say "yes" to God. That breaks if they don't do something for their generation. A generation loved by God so much, that He's just waiting for us to lift our staff, so that the power of God can be shown through UNEXPECTED people.
I've just been sharing to almost everyone i've met about CFFF, INFACTION, PAID, OPEN HEAVENS, IGNITE, eveything and my prayer is only that seeds be planted, God waters them and brings in His harvest in His time.
I believe God is crying out for this generation, just to tell them how much He loves them, and the awesome destiny He has for every single person.
INFACTION + IGNITE = FAITH IGNITION ----> Explosion, the move of the true, real GOD

# Final Day Of The Week
Today I just wanna talk about perspective.
Had my GEM lecture today on Heavenly Mathematics : Cultural Astronomy. Does the Earth go round the Sun or the Sun go round the Earth. In a bizzare manner, both are correct, in their own view.
Perspective is powerful, it got Gallileo into a whole lot of trouble. It caused many people to not figure out the mysteries of space, and today, it causes many people to disagree. Not just on celestial dynamics, but to things that are so close to us, even to personal relationships.
This blog is not an academic essay so im sorry if the arguments are not structured or in any ordered sequence of logic, but here's some of my thoughts. And don't worry, my brain is only this complex less than 50% of the time. (I'll let you go figure how much that means =)
Our perspective of others, and ourselves.
My personal opinion
I always see other people as if they've got it all. Friends, fun, future, family. I mean, im not delusional, I know that not everyone has everything, but I seem to always see close-to-perfection in others. Even if I don't name names I think you might know who im talking about but i wanna share with you some heroes in my life.
Individual A
A person who takes God at His word. Has trusted God and seen God come through in so many places. More than capable leader of 10, has allowed God to lead. Can draw quite a good line between fun and discipline. Love and true love. Wise, not as men would acknowledge. A challenger in life. Fierce and having high standards. I have yet to see the other side.
Individual B
Calm and composed. Capable leader. Constructive. Perseveres. Yet apparently fragile. Trusts God and inspires others to do likewise. Has favour with all men. Talented. Perseveres (yes, 2nd time). Trustworthy. Persevere's on, living the High Life.
Individual C
Strong, yet apparently fragile too. An accomplisher. Inspirational leader. And to me, somehow unnoticed. Which isn't a bad thing. Then again, like B, trustworthy, faithful. Extreme even, in faith. Believes for great things, not disappointed with the lot in life.
Ok, i've kind of given up trying to describe people without actually mentioning names, but yeah.. these people seem to me to have got it right. And I want that too. Im hungry for more. But also afraid to pay the price. I know I've thought and talked it through, there really is no reason to be for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
Back to perspective, what I jsut said about those people, they themselves may not agree or even see what I see, in themselves and others. Yet to me, in my honest opinion, from my viewpoint, there is something I wish I had that they had.
I think I already know this about myself. Both the good and bad of it : I see almost only the good in people
I know there was a second part about perspectives i wanted to write about, but it seems as if it has slipped my mind. Oh well, it's Bible reading time. hope to reach mid John by tonight (=
To those who've read till here, thanks for your time and God is real (=

# 1st day of school, again
Im back in school, an waht better way to start the new semester with a Maths lecture that started 30 minutes late. I woke up at 6, travelled for 1 and a half hours and sat in the lecture theater, only to for the microphone to be spoilt, and we had a delay and consequentially our first make up lecture. Sadness but oh well, God has a plan for everything.
I'm blogging now cuz I have nothing else to do. Yup. Really nothing. In YIH now, just had breakfast and I'm happy. Most likely will not get my MNO, only 5 vacancies. So im really not sure how i'm going to survive this sem. If i take 5 modules, will it be a disaster?
The December is already over and 2008 has just begun for me. And it's not going smoothly so far... but I'm going to make it! Somehow i'm going to try to get 6 mods this sem, worst case would be GEM/SS, but there's hardly any space left. I guess that's what faith is about? When you know you can't do it on your own.
1 lecture down, and going to crash some other groups MLE lecture as im trying to avoid the 4-6 lecture. Going to move into PGP today. Ok, not really move cuz most of my things i need to survive.
Oops, lecture again now.. gtg

# Lights, Camera, Action!
The new year is here and for me, it has started on a low. Missed the outing with my friends, cuz i stayed back for a bbq, but it wasn't worth it. Hope my friends do get my sms or something.
Well, just some thoughts on the new year. Honestly, no resolutions yet except the Battleplans from INFACTION.
Firstly, just had these two people at the bbq, one was deaf/mute. She looks perfectly normal except i realised she used sign language to communicate and had a hearing aid in her ear. And just got me to think, with all the big plans we have, are we truly aware of the needs of the people around us that seem normal. People that seem to just pass us by without a second thought. People we would never reach out to, cuz they appear just like us on the outside. It took me like an hourinto the bbq to actually spot the sign language. Then another two hours to spot the hearing aid as well. How many years have passed without us realising what the people in our circle of influence really need..
Secondly, the other guy, he appeared slightly, to put it bluntly, retarded. He talks slow and has trouble pronouncing words. And i just had this barrier to reach out. With an action packed year in the making, will it be action where it's easy? Comfortable? When the people seem hard to talk to. Hard to understand. When they zig when we zag. They sleep when we talk. They talk when we talk. When things basically don't go the way we planned. Or things go the way we planned because we didn't choose to reach the difficult people.
Already I know it's going to be hard for me to keep to what I intend to do. It's gonna be full of difficult things to do. But like what Roland said, if it's easy, anyone ELSE can do it. So yeah, I'm gonna go at it with all I've got. Paddling a boat in the middle of the ocean, and even if i'm the last guy on board and everyone else has given up, I'm still gonna keep paddling. Pushing myseld for it and I know my God will take notice. God will see little me all alone struggling the crushing waves in the ocean and He will choose to intervene. When He takes notice of me, my Saviour will just have to say the word, and the winds will be still. Stretch forth His hand, and I will be safe. Breathe on me, and I will have the strength to go on.
Lights, Camera, ACTION. It's 2008
